What a beautiful looking card! I clicked on to watch the foiling part, and was drawn in by you're soothing voice! Thank you for sharing. I am new to the crafting world. I find it very therapeutic!
I loved the way you die cut the foil and used the solid plate. I haven't seen that before. Also, I bought one of those solid plates and have never used it. So I will try. It did occur to me after I bought the solid plate that I probably could use the backside of a cover plate... but not sure how that would have worked out. I don't do cupcakes, but I have to admit the card was adorable anyway 😂
I enjoyed your video. I just ordered my Glimmer machine yesterday. It is for my birthday, so my husband is going to hijack it when it arrives, until the 19th (I like to get the present on my birthday, but don't mind one little bit ordering it myself!!). I hadn't seen anyone else cut their foil with their dies. I had seen enough videos to know that I would need the solid plate. I ordered the one from Pinkfresh, because it seems to be a good size. Thank you for sharing your great idea! Marianne in AZ
I have the solid foil plate and recently used it for the first time. I love the reverse image as well as the original. I never dreamed of using other dies for a different effect. This is amazing and I will definitely be trying this technique. Your card is adorable. Thanks!
Great card. I need to get into the foiling. Adding some clear glaze or glossy accents all over the cloche lid would have added to the glass look you were going for but I loved the colouring and the sprinkles and flag on the cupcake 🧁 Thanks so much for sharing.
I just ordered the Spellbinders Glimmer machine and am excited to get it. My excitement was dampened a little bit, when the day after I ordered, I saw that Therm-o-web has partnered with Gina K and Unity to make something like a very sticky rub-on for foiling. It only needs to be run through a die cut machine for the pressure to add the foil. Then, the more I thought about it, I still don't think I want to send the Glimmer machine back. I think it is going to be more versatile. But I do think the Therm-o-web product is something that is going to bring foiling to a lot of card makers. The price is very reasonable at 2 sheets of the "rub-ons" for $4.99.
I have actually tried the new adhesive designs. As part of the SCT Crop and Create. They are fun too. They do look different on cardstock though than the hot foil, so I think you will be happy with the glimmer! 🙂
I don’t have a hot foil machine but I enjoyed watching this. Did you save all those little foil dots to use on another project? This card turned out really sweet (as all your cards do) and I love all the little details you added.
What a cute card!! Great tip for using dies with foiling!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you! 🙂
Great tip for using foil with cover dies! TFS

Thanks! ❤️ Foiling is a lot of fun. I like the look of glossy accents for glass too! For this card I just didn’t want to add more shine. 🙂

Thanks, Rebecca! I thought about saving the dots, but ultimately decided not to because I have so much stuff. 🤪
I love the look this process creates!!! The card looks so fun. As always, great coloring. Love the dome👏👏👏
Where do you get your fun foam sheets?
Thanks, Ana! I buy mine in a big pack off of Amazon. 30 9x12 sheets for $15. 🙂 amzn.to/3NUcJl5
Beautiful. Do you feel hot foil is worth the investment, it seems the plates are expensive along with the foil sheets?
Thanks! ❤️ For me, I think it’s worth it with a solid hot foil plate. It gives you a lot more possibilities. The foil really is beautiful on cards. 🙂
@@DreamCraftCreate so you can use your other dies to cut and then just use the solid plate to adhere the cut images?
Yes. 🙂 Dies that cut really thin lines do not work well because the foil is fragile, but I have used lots of other dies and they work great!
Where did the clear plastic layer come from?
Are you talking about on the foil? There is a tiny layer of cellophane type material on the glimmer hot foil. 🙂
Hi!😁
Hi! 🙂
Brilliant!
Thank you! 🙂
