The greatness about Cheong San is that he is the everyday normal guy that every guy can relate to. He is not spectacularly handsome or a fighter like Su hyeok. But when it really matters, he shows up and does his thing. In the end even sacrificing himself.
I agree but I wouldn’t say he’s entirely ordinary, he is also a good fighter, the fastest in the group, able to handle bad situations perfectly and remain calm sometimes even making it favourable for him and using a bad situation to help him survive when most people would’ve died, he has also had the worst scenarios happen to him yet he survived he’s incredibly versatile and easily the best candidate for survival in their group besides maybe su-hyeok

Sad news to Every all of us are dead fans - All of us are dead season 2 will be released by end of 2024 because in latest review of teen Vogue with Park ji hoo (on jo) she said they didn't started shooting season 2 yet So season 2 shooting will start in August - September 2023 and casting will atleast take 1 year and CGI and VFX will take atleast 2-3 months so easily it will realease at the end of 2024 (November - December) 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
but we can understand her feelings in that moment To some extent On Jo has taken for granted the presence of her father and Cheong San in her life. Her dad is her hero, just like any loving parent is to a child doubled by his profession as firefighter saving lives heroically. But on an intellectual level you know that you are going to outlive your parents even if you can’t bear the thought of losing them. It’s just the way of life and you don’t want to make your parents outlive you either. On the other hand, there is your future and what you live for going forward and for On Jo she just can’t imagine a future without Cheong San in it. He’s been such solid fixture in her entire life, not even had to deal with real long-term jealousy with him not ever liking someone else and always giving her his full attention and company. That she doesn’t know any different, has not had to consider any different and cannot even think about losing him. When he comes over and asks her if she ever for a moment liked him too she doesn’t outright reject it. Just asks for space and a moment to sort out her feelings. Which indicates that there have been fleeting moments when she was attracted but for the same reason he never said anything and always treated her as “a guy”, she would’ve naturally blocked that line of thinking herself. Their existing relationship is precious. It’s the kind that’s already been through thick and thin, survived them growing up and maturing, is an everyday vital part of their life, is still surviving strong through an apocalypse, through petty and big fights, through great losses, through broken psyches, still motivating them to fight for a tomorrow. But going from friendship to romance means things will never be the same again. It could mean losing the most important person in your life because things get awkward if there is unrequited love. The resigned dejection in the person that likes, the helpless guilt in the person that doesn’t return the feelings. Thinking twice about every interaction, not wanting to lead on or make other person uncomfortable and feel the burden of their feelings. Leading to awkwardness, less skinship, less sharing of personal life, and a distance that can end their relationship altogether unless the unrequited love ends before that (which he promises won’t). And if by some miracle the feelings are mutual, it’s scarier. Because then what if they date and break up? Find out they’re not suitable as a couple, don’t like each other that much. End up hating each other? Not all exes can maintain a friendly relationship after break up and even if they do remain friends, it’s still going to be different than if they had never dated. And it’s not just them casually trying to date or having a small crush in their case (he’s liked her forever, it’s not hormones, it’s not the crisis). No, it’s proper in love and heartbreak if that doesn’t work out. She had a highschool teen girl crush on Su Hyeok like 2 days ago and she confessed to him. Then an apocalypse descended on them and she had to find out by watching events unfold that her crush liked someone else, was now even dating that someone else. Didn’t even get a proper rejection and closure from him. She hasn’t had the chance to have time to herself. She’s dealing with grief and loss and bone deep exhaustion and painful worry. Her oldest closest friend just confessed to her in front of everyone (which girls generally don’t like). They’re in the middle of an apocalypse and their lives are at risk. So him being in love with her means he’s going to be even more stubborn & reckless & willing to put himself at risk to protect her. Him liking her right now means it could end his life in trying to save her. She doesn’t want people to sacrifice themselves for her. Especially not people she loves and cares for because she can’t live without them but also can’t follow them to death because it would make their sacrifice in vain. So a mix of embarrassment/annoyance of being put in the spot (public confessions are burdensome), still recovering over the (not even direct) rejection by her earlier crush and more importantly the worry about what this means for their future, their relationship and its changed dynamics and the worry for them both being able to get out of this alive means she’s quite angry. (She also often expresses her worry through anger especially with him)
she’s going to be *devastated* when her iconic kick doesn’t affect Hambie Cheong San the same way anymore like his banged up body and eye, super strength, zombie hungry red eyes, urge to eat people, all isn’t going to shock her until she tries to kick him to vent out her frustration and… it… just doesn’t get the same reaction from him. Like that’s when it’s going to sink in that things have changed, that’s he’s actually part zombie now, that he _died_ once already

Being a one sided lover myself, I can totally feel the pain when the one you like doesn't like you back. Your heart aches but you have to act like nothing has happened. It happened to me many times. I'm like Cheong San in this case, the only difference is he got his love but I didn't
