AMAZING DAY of Fishing on the Potomac River

My friend and I fished a team tournament on the Potomac River, coming in 5th out of 27. It was overcast and the fish were post spawn, with water temperature in the mid 70’s. We caught a ton of fish using various techniques like a chatterbait, shakey head, senko, and soft swimbait! Yea hooks are the number one cause of injuries to a fish. Leads to holes around the mouth area, bleeding gills and don’t get me started about gut hooking. I would like to see you stop using them.

No jokes, we probably shouldn’t be fishing around the spawn.

Would like to see a little more respect for the fish. Letting them flop around in the boat often leads to loss of scales and other injuries.
