As a woman with an IUD I can definitely say it’s a time commitment in terms of your body getting used to a foreign object. But it is absolutely not normal to be bleeding for 8 months straight. I’m not sure if you have a copper IUD but those can cause bleeding like you are describing and certain people are more susceptible to it as well. I know doctors will say it’s common but that doesn’t mean you have to suffer through it.
For the first couple of months, I bled with my IUD & my doctor recommended ibuprofen every couple of hours for a couple of days & it stopped. I didn’t need to take the ibuprofen long term and the bleeding completely stopped.
I bled everyday for 6 months with my iud, I had an ultrasound to see why and it wasn’t sitting properly. Got a new one put in and stopped bleeding immediately.
Alyssa you really should try the IUD in your arm! I absolutely love mine, it sounds scary but I promise it’s not they numb your under arm and it’s done in seconds, changes every 3 years. I’ve had mine changed twice and I have no periods for years. For the first couple months I’ve had a light period but nothing other than that. My mood is so stable and I feel great every day
I had mine for a year and bled for about 11 months of that got it taken out as soon as it was in a year and side effects hadn’t lessened, different for everyone ☺️
Ok I am guessing when the person said a real wedding they obviously talking about the temple marriage not the actual marriage as I don't think a temple marriage is seen as a proper wedding outside of the church

An IUD it an intrauterine device that goes inside your uterus. You cannot get an IUD in your arm. The Nexplanon is the implant that goes in your arm.
I could see how Dallin would have been worried about unusual habits or traits not having any sisters. But we gals aren’t any more quirky than guys 😉
