Great information! I have bought the 10w D1 when they came out. Did a few things with it but keeping the belts adjusted for one project drove me nuts, so I went the CNC route. I am doing customized commission work as a side hustle. I showed my wife the F1 Ultra and she said get it. She likes the idea of the engraving and embossing metals. I am looking forward to playing with it and have some ideas to pitch to a couple of businesses. I am not looking for a full time gig with my CNC or laser but get it where pays for itself and when I retire in a few years to give me some extra money. I appreciate your insights and the time you give to share your experience and insights.

Retired 3 times and work more now then when I was employed😂 i’ve been a woodworker for many many years part time when you get off work I’ve only recently been working with lasers about a year now with that being said I’m in the process of building a shop just for laser work. What I’ve learned since buying the first laser doing local farmers markets, and some larger gun shows laser work is kind of everywhere. Many many people have it or at least in my area.

I needed to hear a lot of this. Especially about taking your time. I've only had my laser setup for 5 days but I catch myself thinking, "why am I not cranking out lots of stuff yet"... Honestly, I'm finding getting designs formatted and "ready to engrave/cut" the biggest challenge so far. I should probably buy some designs to get me started faster... but there I go in a hurry again. LOL

Ain't that life? haha. I wouldn't have to say it if we all (including me) didn't do it.

Interesting timing. Great points in this video! I'm starting this same journey from absolute zero. Liked the xToolS1, but don't like the proprietary software. I've leaning toward LaserMatic for my first. Keep 'em coming. 😂

Did you watch this video? If so, which one would I choose and why? Which one is listed in the description? As for the leather, it depends. But if you watch this one it may help: th-cam.com/video/J48G0EgINP4/w-d-xo.html

I bought a 10w not knowing I should have bought probably at least a 20w I’m tempted to buy the 20w upgrade for mine because they keep dropping the price but at the same time I’m like why spend the money and maybe save for a 30w or better. Don’t know what to do. My learning experience is I need more power because of what I want to make.

Yeah, tough call. If you get the 20w it is likely you would wish you had the 30w lol. I find the 30w will do 1/4" in one pass most of the time, where it takes two with the 20w. I would say that is the major difference, which can be huge.

Buy a 2trees cnc for 600bucks + a 20watt laser module then you have a cnc and laser.

@@BeamMeUpLaserEngraving While that sounds cool, people I know that have those say it is not a good mix. But if you find someone you can trust that loves it, I would get some details first. I personally am not into CNC, so I would be the wrong one to ask.

I started out about 4 years ago with a 5W AtomStack. I upgraded to a 10W module. My first year was a blast, making this and that. I had so much fun learning how to work with different materials. This year, I got my dba and officially started my business, and I'm still learning. Thanks, Eric, for the video. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Beautiful, I put clear contact paper over the design sticky side up. then put tiles on. when I flip it over and peel it off the contact paper the tiles are clean on top.

Hey there, Thank you for all of your help. Im looking at purchasing LaserMARIT Mk2 XW i would like to use Light Burn software with it. Do you know if it is compatible and works correctly. Thank you

I assume you mean the Roly LaserMATIC? Please look up my reviews on the MK2, they are pretty much the same but the XW is wider. I ONLY used Lightburn withe the LaserMATIC and it works perfectly. I highly recommend the XW! Please use my link when you purchase. It is in the description of my Roly LaserMATIC videos. Thanks!! And when you get it, let us know what you think.

I have a 40W diode laser coming next week. I am so glad that I have the same plan that you spelled out here. I am looking to Xmas 2025. There is an arts and craft show at the local high school every Saturday, less than 1000 yds from my house. My plan is to get proficient at the diode and then "graduate" to a CO2 laser in a year or two.
