I can't believe I'm having more fun in Wuwa today than I did in genshin at release, seriously the side content, world exploration and minigame is just so much fun on top of crazy fun combat!
The swapping mechanic makes combat surprisingly interesting. I was worried that the combat wouldn't have that much going on aside from better enemy design (which imo Wuwa has in spades), but I was incredibly wrong. This gets quite APM intensive if you're tryharding, not to mention you have to be actually watching the enemies' attacks. I hope that the community doesn't bully the devs into making easier overworld content like they did in Genshin, because I think Kuro devs struck a great balance of some chests being free and other chests having legitimately fun little puzzles around them. It feels like I'm - dare I say it, playing a real video game when I'm exploring in Wuwa. Not to mention how fun it is just to walk around from place to place. The movement mechanics, while a little buggy, are incredibly fun and freeing to use.
Really Hating the Echo farming thou. I get that I dont have to spend waveplates to get it but damn getting those 3 cost echos with the right main stat and in the right set is painful. Wiping all the elite till the tracker cant show anymore for the day and still not getting it. Worse part is, theres still subs stats to care about so what you spend so long getting and leveling will be thrown away.
@@joe-yf9wcThey help a bit, unless you get screwed by terrible sub stat rolls. They really should make getting the baseline echoes much easier. If you clear the full map, you should be guaranteed at least one echo with the correct substat.
I remember you from the early Genshin days, and always loved your content. It's great to see you back with Wuthering Waves content, and I hope you don't get burned out doing this content and instead just see it as a fun little exercise in sharing information. Thanks for the in-depth guide of Calcharo and specifically swap canceling tech. I've definitely thought about that aspect of squeezing in more DPS, but with most of the outro skills dropping when switching out, it does makes it questionable when it's going to be useful versus not. Also, it's difficult without having the resources of knowing the ins-and-outs of how Concerto and Resonance Energy is gained to be able to figure out how to avoid triggering Outros while swapping or how much you need to trigger the outros in your rotations. I didn't enjoy WuWa at first, because even at low Graphics things would lag so much so that I felt like I was just button mashing to parry or dodge counter, but I was able to get my WuWa working ok so that now I can actually see the attacks coming to do the parry and dodge counters somewhat (side hint, turn Shadows to low, it makes a world of difference), and it's made a world of difference in my enjoyment of WuWa. As such, I would love to see any content you do with WuWa as I've always found your content informative and nuanced, and since my main driver of enjoyment for WuWa is the combat mainly (the stories haven't been that great, but it picked up a little with 1.4-1.6 of the main story) and the company's willingness to take customer feedback seriously (unlike some other games....) Good seeing you back on youtube!
This was such a great demo of this concept, I hear a lot of people saying cancels exist but not actually showing how/ when the best time to do them and how much to expect to do on other characters during them. Any follow up vids are super appreciated!
Good video! Nice to see you come back after the Genshin days. Here are some small tips adding on top of the video: 1. About Calcharo Intro: Certain Intro Skills are Timestops (Verina, Sanhua, Havoc MC, Jianxin), so what you can do is if only 1 of your supports have their Concerto full during his Ult Swap Cancels (SC), you can just SC again to the ones with a timestop Intro and does not lose any ult duration, basically using their Intro instead of his. If both your supports have Concerto full, then tough luck, you can't do much about it, but a Calcharo SC -> Character 1 with full Concerto --> SC Character 2 with Timestop Intro is a good way to dodge his Intro skill animation lock. 2. Getting 3 Death Messengers is your utmost priority when playing Calcharo, since it has not only very high MVs, it also enables more swaps, even if that means doing a much more suboptimal BA/NA chain. BA4 and 5 has the highest MVs but take the longest, so we usually don't do them unless boss is straight up staggered, as any dodge, slight knockback, or chase means you lose your 3 DM. BA3D and BA3E are faster than BA5, but the fastest possible 5 stack combo you can do is with Levitator cancel: BA2 - Levitator - BA2 - Levitator - BA1 - DM. This combo is 75% (flat) MV less than BA3 D BA2, but much more comfortable and faster, allowing you to recover from having to dodge, or a bad SC where you take more time to swap back. In fact, a Levitator Cancel chain can get you 12-13 stacks, no other BA combo can do this: th-cam.com/video/qcjvZqgbz6E/w-d-xo.html (Example, there are some more on my channel). Actively realizing that you might not have time to do a BA3 or BA5 and swap over to do a Levitator cancel combo chain after your 2nd DM is a very practical decision and something that you will likely run to when fighting and chasing enemies, so always keep it in mind. 3. Not about Calcharo, but Sanhua Heavy Attack has a SF6 mechanic called Negative Edge, where the holding of a button and the depressing of a button are counted as 2 seperate inputs. What you can do is hold heavy and cast Skill/Intro at the same time, and the bar will move while the glacier animations goes through, and you will detonate them faster. Cannot do this with Ult though, since Ults are timestops. Here is an example I did with Sanhua Intro - Skill - Detonate: x.com/imsitri/status/1796393239051915723
Man, this video got me more excited than Wuwa. Honestly, no guides compare, and none are nearly so enjoyable, just like back.. however long it's been. I appreciate that you're busy with IRL Jinx, but can't express how good it is to see these guides again. Glad we got this game with some depth, and someone so enjoyable to watch it get broken down by. Thanks for what ya do! And thanks Kuro for delivering a game we can all enjoy together!
Glad someone finally mentioned the outro buff loss. That said, with what iv been seeing so far, there's is a really big chance that yinlins buff will have the same caveat.
Thanks for the guide! This vid taught me about swap-cancelling. I recently got Yinlin for my Calcharo team and I managed to figure her attacks that can be swap cancelled, it's really fun!
It’s so good to have you back. Your style of explaining mechanics, techniques and game concepts just really works for me. Despite there being a lot of great guide creators and theory crafters out there your videos just work best for me personally. Hope you find the time and enjoy WuWa enough to make more of these. And if you don’t, thanks for this one.
So glad you're back! When I opened the video, I thought your voice sounded familiar but I couldn't remember where I heard it. Until you said "caveat" and it brought me back to the Hu Tao video years ago lol.
YOOO Nice to have you back Used to watch you in early genshin devs, I kinda forgot why you left but nice to have you here! This game looks like right up your alley.
Ever since the relase of WuWa, Its kind of pseudo experiencing year 1 Genshin. JinxJinx is back, exploring openworld minus the free time I had back then. Thanks for coming back my dude, Expecting more content from you in the future much love
It's great to hear you talk about nerdy video game stuff again my friend. Started watching when Genshin first hit and am always cheering for you. Thanks for the content and cheers!
I kept trying to figure out where I knew your voice from until you mentioned being a "switch-axe" main haha. So many hours of listening to your monster hunter vids! I actually love WuWa because of it's more complex boss fights than other gotcha's and it gives me some MHW vibes sometimes.
OMG i missed your content, genshin guides were never the same without you, also i would like to see an update on how calcharo + yinlin considering the changes she has gotten
Hell Yeah great to see ya! Love all your MH videos! Its interesting I feel like there is a lot more competition in the gacha community when it comes to math/tc than in MH.
Got Calcharo on my very first roll for Jiyan Now that Yinlin is guaranteed for me, it's a sign And welcome back! You're the reason why I mained swagaxe in mhw :)
Damn, this feels like a fever dream to hear you being passionate about all this animation cancelling again. Reminds me of happier times back when Klee was released.
Knowing that Calcharo ult doesn't get cancelled when swapping is such an informative thing for me because I have never tried to do that myself. Since I did that with my Jiyan and his ult was gone, I just assumed Calcharo's would too.
OH THERE'S A NAME FOR IT. I've been doing it with pink booba girl, fire pew pew girl and wuwa Nahida. It's so cool how it they implemented it. They fight mechanics AND the attack strings on both the characters and the enemies are so fucking good in this game.
Something important to note if you're a high ping gamer (yay Australia), if you mash out the BA string in ult stance the second BA comes out so fast that because of the lag you literally do not get a whole forte stack for DM which is why you can so easily fail his tutorial trial. This means that to get the stack you must either delay BA2 by the tiniest amount to account for lag or do a different combo entirely. Thankfully you delay BA2 you can still do the combos listed in this video (namely the BA3 cancel) and have time for 3 DMs in one ult. Another combo you can do instead which does not include a delayed BA2 is BA1 > dash > mash BA until DM. This combo obviously will take much longer but is still short enough to JUST fit in 3 DMs in one ult. Oce server when
Man quite a nostalgic feeling seeing your name again, n watching your video again after so long thanks to WuWa. Good to see u again! Edit: Seeing Carlacho x Yinlin at the highest level of gameplay mechanic looks like seeing Sepiroth dancing a tango with Kafka from HSR. Can my rotten hands do that 🥲
my favourite "gaming channel" or the only one that i watch amongst those generic "D0nT dO tHiS aND Th4t or B1g D4mAgE (input number here) big words in the thumbnail" channel we are so back, welcome back, boi i missed the however and caveats
Brooo!!!! So nice to see you again but on a different game that we both are playing until Monster Hunter Wilds comes out! Would love to see more in depth build videos on wuwa...
What I really gather from this is despite how simple the combat system is on the surface theres a lot of micro optimizations you can do in moment to moment gameplay to really push a skill gap. Like say in an example you mess up and Calcharo's skill is going to be on CD for another 1~2 seconds after your Rotation and you notice you have a full Concerto, a possible recovery method would be to hard swap and trigger his Outro Skill to fall back on its GIGANTIC modifier since your remaining cooldown would be in sync with your Swap cooldown to help make up for "Dead time" and many other examples where it may be possible to squeeze in more swaps given the right circumstances.
We are so back
Let’s go!!
Nope.
Clueless

I really missed Jinx’s signature “However…..” We are SO Back 🎉
i also missed that specific piano piece that they play over the meme segment
for real T_T didnt realise he's back until i saw this video
when I heard that and caveat I knew we were back even tho ive stopped playing wuwa

Longform Jinx guide? However? CAVEATS? Entering the we're so back era.
The best Calcharo rotation explainer I've seen on TH-cam, and I've really seen them all. You've done an excellent job here!
This was such a great demo of this concept, I hear a lot of people saying cancels exist but not actually showing how/ when the best time to do them and how much to expect to do on other characters during them. Any follow up vids are super appreciated!

Best Calcharo guide, i've seen around many videos, but none are straightforward and easy to follow as yours. Great video, man. Keep it up.

Glad to see you are back

Hi Jinx. Welcome back!
Good to see you back, dawg :)

Holy shit my guy is back
release the other hour of calcharo content NOW 🥵
I didn't expect to see you come to this game
It's kind of interesting that lorewise, this guy believes in the strength in numbers ideology and somehow embodies it mechanically
Eyy!! you're back!!
babe wake up jinx upload a new video!!!
I apologize of the past grnshin drama had happened. O3O
You seem genuinely cool and entertaining though! Much love! 😊❤❤❤
NO WAY MATH GUYS BACK
and then Yinlin's outro become an anti-swap buff sadly no more cancelling tech
We NEVER left !
We are so back
This combo with Yinlin ... Damn that's a lot of damage
