I just saw this video and when I played this part really fucking hurt. The Demon Army decided it would be funny to randomly convert one of my puppet states (I assume that's what they are called) and then blitzed through me when I wasn't even done conquering the east yet. Worse still it happened a chunk of my commanders were used in battle. In short I got a train ran on me.
I like how the demon army still gets a slight chance for a regular attack before the Shimazu blitz. Giving them a total of 6 attacks. Even Takeda would be jealous, as the game bans them from launching a normal attack on a blitz turn and I think the turn before it.
For anyone somehow still viewing this video recently: Placing Ogawa Kentarou alone (1 Unit) after his transformation in a defensive battle will guarantee you the win, since he can't die and you will never lose field advantage.
@@dennisdustin6895 I was wrong in giving that advice because you can't make Kentarou transform before the demon army appears (the event where he does can only happen after taking their first territory) however the tip is still useful for ppl wanting to cheese a battle in the Takeda blitz
Omachi, the Kitsune Mistress; also known by her less-formal title, "The Gamebreaker". Seriously, that woman has to be the most overpowered character in Sengoku Rance xD I'm surprised her attack isn't just named "I win".
I didn't know he was indestructible and autowin when defending as a demon. Though I doubt he was a demon at this point since as far as I can remember the scene where he turns into a demon happens only some turns after you've taken a demon army territory. The blitz is triggered here by attacking the territory (see in the beginning of the video) for the first time. I didn't play the game since I uploaded this video so I might remember completely wrong though.
@HayaneHayaokimasu well, likes of natori and seigan whittle down enemy numbers by percentage rather than an absolute amount, so as long as you can get a guard up, the battle has some hope. Furthermore, past turn 60, battle permits allow to your generals to attack the non-terminal sections of enemy territories at a 100% success rate.
As for Maria, she had the default stats, so 6 attack I think. Besides I don't think attack always matters when attacking weak units. I think the maxium amount of kills you can do on 1x dmg attack is around the amount of units you have (It starts going down after 1000 units and greatly down after 2000 units I think). I guess it makes a little sense 500 musketeers can't shoot more than around 500 enemies when they shoot once.
@kirbyksn I second this. I saw someone's playthrough where all he did was defend furiously and even if the demon army already surrounded him, he kept using independent proxies (where you send out squads to fight for you when its not your turn) and somehow in the turn of events came to pass (8-10 turns maybe) and the lands the demon army had taken over from previous came under oda control.
Yeah I had Mouri, One eyed and Takeda house bonuses. Even though I think I shouldn't have taken Mouri bonus to have more national power in the beginning. I remember I tried having it on fastest for a while but I couldn't get used to it and then forgot about it, probably should've turned it on for this, yeah

Fellow gamers of the internet who have gone through the same pain of monster army and are at their first playthrough struggling and not knowing what they've done wrong. Why the game is punishing you I have gone through the same experience so I'm gonna spoil y'all something so you don't have to restart from day 1 just to play things differently. In about 15 turns in the game, regardless of whether you keep fighting back the monster army everyday or whether you just give up every battle, allowing the army to slowly take your land In 15 turns after the blitz attack, there will be a time skip that lets the player take back pretty much every piece of land back so even if you struggle, there's no point. Spend this 15 turns building your troops or having fun so that in 15 turns you'd be strong enough to take over the demon army. Have fun. Oh fun fact and a rant, as a retarded gamer. It took me 96 turns to realise that the Rance Satisfaction bonus existed. which means it took me 96 turns to find out I could actually make 3 moves in one turn but I've only been doing 2 turns for the past 96 turns. I'm retarded that way
This was with most of the house bonuses, right? Also note that you can actually turn up the speed of the battle animations under the options menu (System -> Options). Would probably make for a better video. And Maria's special does a lot of damage. Wow. Was that with her ATK pumped?
You're actually pretty lucky (or maybe it's because I'm super unlucky). My commanders get killed literally 70% of the time when their unit gets elliminated from battle. I hate it when I have to restart the blitz (both Takeda and Shimazu) when one of my important commanders die.
by chance would you know how to fix the menu lag? When I hover over a menu button or the characters in the troops menu, it takes a second for it to "focus" on it (make the clicking noise) you seem to run it perfectly
@PhantomBrave7 he probably has more action fans, i've seen people have up to 4. i myself have 3, but that's only cuz of second playthrus, and the 4th one i think u get in rance's sat bonus, just which one i dont know...
7k enemy army power... meanwhile I'm struggling with 1* normal mode (especially an attack with agireda in there lol), and had to surrender 3 waves of attack because lack of firepower shouldn't have rush xavier just after conquering uesugi :v

I don't want to sound like a complete moron, but how is it fair that your enemy's combined HP is 5-10 times yours, and they fully heal after each battle? How exactly do you beat these guys?
really,,, natori's skill is just the best thing to win when you're outrunned in numbers....chinu's is better but sadly it is an automatic death for her in every route that has demon....
I clearly must be shit at this game if i am on turn 111 and i own 11 territories surrounded by the demon army. Well looks like i had better restart the game.
Yeah the my first SR playthrough met the same fate as well. First time playthroughs (no guides, no tips, just your own understanding of what the game throws at you) is magical in a way that makes you want to know more and learn from what you did wrong at first
Suzume be like "i snuck through 1908 musketeers and killed their commander, then got out safe and sound"

Nope, but if you defend against the Takeda Blitz I think you get the option to assassinate their leader and the other Takedas will become recruitable.
