Thanks for the build deltia, been running well with my dunmer templar for a while and i'm impressed with its resilience in battle, i like how it both benefits me and others in terms of both combat and healing effectiveness if im running into a tough situation and in the future it will help me succeed in dungeons when i'm alone or in a group running with other player classes.
I was just levelling a magic Templar earlier! What convenient timing. I was talking about magic Templars with a friend, who just had too much positive to say about them, but he also mentioned how they had a harder time with resources which is what put me off originally. Might try this build while I get used to Templars resources.
Thanks for the build Deltia. Perfect timing too, was getting tired of my Templar, overall ok but want to do VMA and I think this is the one (fingers crossed). Still farming some gear but so far love the rotation.
I'm building something similar to this now. I just got to CP160 and got most of my armor/weapons. I'm running the 5 Withered Hand and 4 Mothers Sorrow at all times(5 Mothers Sorrow on DW bar). My main damage bar is the dw bar for the constant 5% increase in damage. I'm still very squishy but that'll change once I can use more warrior points. I'm going to be using Valkyn Skoria once I can stay alive during the dungeons. Thank you so much for the build. :)

Hey Deltia, I noticed on your site the Solo section seems to be updated from this video (New hotbar setup, dual wield on both hotbars instead of destro staff, etc) and some sections are bugged like the skills not showing what passives to use and champion points not showing.
I have always run a magplar, and I feel like double barring inner light isn't worth it. Correct me if I am wrong : - if you keep reflective light dot up you should have the major prophecy buff pretty much all the time; - with the mage guild passives you get 2% magicka and 2% magicka regen, but if you run repentance or radiant aura (in the first slot freed up), you get more ressources than that, with the 10% regen (and magickasteal in the new patch); - finally the empower, it has a pretty high magicka cost and takes a little time (and as you say : time is as important as damage in DPS) so I only find it usefull on ults or maybe jesus beam on a low health enemy, but hardly. If you want the empower you can use solar barrage (in the second slot freed up), which is instant cast, does damage and is cheaper than inner light. I have already kinda made my mind up, but I would like to have your feedback on this.
Max Magicka increases your spell power, Inner Light gives you 5% more max magicka, and with mages guild passive it gives extra two, resulting in 7% more max magicka. Don't underestimate that, there's a reason why all PvE magicka DDs run it.
I just completed a VMA Run on my Dark Elf Vampire Templar! (Xbox One). I ran 2 Piece Ilambris, 5 Piece Burning Spellweave and 3 Piece Infallible Aether Jewellery with an Inferno Staff. 64 Magicka Attribute Points, All Pieces Divine, Magicka/Spell Power Glyphs and a Sharpened Staff. Bar 1; Elemental Blockade, Reflective Light, Blazing Spear, Purifying Light, Channelled Focus and Elemental Rage . Bart 2; Puncturing Sweeps, Radiant Oppression, Force Pulse, Elemental Drain, Harness Magicka and Devouring Swarm.
This is amazing! Deltia is there anything a new Templar character should do specifically at the beginning to optimize this build? Or just play the game and work on it at the end.
I would like to see a kind of magicka templar/healer build for pve,im gonna try to do something like that since my twice born set is all heavy armor and mix it with another tank set or a healer.

Hey Deltia, wanting to check on something. I'm having an issue with bar swap cancelling with blazing spear. I do blockade, block cancel, blazing spear, bar swap. I get the beginning of the spear animation, and I even get the circle shrinking on the ground--but the attack doesn't happen. Any input?
hey deltias what item combinations u recommend for pvp with this build? would be nice to hear an answer, cause the written guide always talks about pvp and it never came to the point where i could change my items to pvp. cause i like pvp. and i like this build :)
Do you have a breakdown of all the passive skills for this build? I guess my bigger question is: With the setup in the video do you need to invest in all of the Mage's guild passives? I took the one item passives for the med and heavy armor. However I am unsure of what else to grab for it.
depends on your skills but generally all class skill line passives destro passive dual wield twin blade and blunt passive med light heavy armor (3 5 3) mageguild race passive undaunted fighters guild, that u gain ultimate everytime u kill an deadra,etc (whole fighters guild if u play dawnbreaker (pvp) or beasttrap(trials)

Thanks Deltia! Quick question on your choice of shield. I've always ignored Harness Magicka because the boon seems to be too situational. Is there a big difference between it and Blazing Shield?
2 questions. why not upgrade withered hand armor to gold? and if i use different pieces such as withered hand shoes and sash instead of head and shoulders will it hurt anything?
D is it more beneficial in your opinion to run a monster shoulder with max magica or the light kena with the spell dmg as I can't get a divines shoulder drop but scored a witherd staff and sword sharpened go figure rng blows, and is it better to have that extra set bonus on both bars? thanks for the great build

Hi Deltia, I've been running 5xWithered Hand with 5xSpinners plus monster helm on my magic templar dps. Since i'm getting spell pen from Spinners i've been running weapons(2xinferno staff) with defending trait (instead of sharpened) for help with survivability. Been working pretty well, What do you think of this set up?
If I start with the all crafted setup, should I add the better pieces as I get them, or wait til I get more of the set? Like right now, I can't yet craft TBS, and idk if my crafting guy still plays, which means ill have to farm mothers sorrow and withered hand. As far as monster sets go, it'll be a royal pain in the ass for me to get Grothdarr, could I use skoria til then?

Good swords to use as an alternative are spinners garments they have the same roll as willpower as a 2 price and are easier to get if you don't have the skills necessary

My question is: If you subscribe and thus get the DLC's - (You do get those that are already out, right?), but then stop subbing again once it runs out, will you lose the ability to play those DLC's, or are they yours to keep? Deltia you have any leveling builds that use no CP? I have a friend that wants to play and I'm not very good with builds. There seems to be a lot of new players lately that are in the same boat.
What kind of spell power should I be trying to get for this build. I don't have 9 traits researched to get twice born star, so I have the mother Sorrow set as a replacement, but my spell damage is under 2k. What am I doing wrong?
i don't use this build but my build is extremely similar, i have 5 TBS with Apprentice and Thief mundus stones along side 5 pieces of Mothers sorrow 1 piece Malubeth and 1 piece Infernal Guardian, i massively struggle with sustain in VMA round 2 so i might give this a go and see how much of a difference it makes, thanks Deltia
In your written build you've updated it to remove Channeled Focus and replacing it with Radiant Aura... and while this improves resource management, it also loses Major Resolve/Major Ward; I take it that using Harness Magicka is the replacement for those two buffs?
My Magplar for a long time now has been doing a 5pc Julianos, 3pc Willpower, and 3pc Magnus. Would you say it would be worth it for me to change it's gear to this build?
Hi guys, hi deltia, first of all Great job, this templar rox! Now to my question, what are ALL of those passives in dual wield for? I dont understand how they should apply to the build (except for the 2.5%bonus damage per sword)
Nocturnal Azura it does but here is the things bosses and dungeon ads goes for trials as well don’t have much resistance so having about 4K penetrations is all you really need maybe even lower that’s just how much I use and it got nerfed by 50% so really precise is better to run just for the simple fact it’s a 6% increase and you will do more damage
I already have my magpler character and he does perform well to a certain extent but to get a build like this would i need to respec my abilities? Im also primary using heavy armour should that change to medium and light?
Hey. I'm now trying this build and having some issue. I'm using the withered hand and mother's sorrow sets. I saw you have more than 30k dps. In the best case i have max 17-20k. I know half of my gear isnt divine, i dont use poisons or spell dmg potions. But you have 2k+ spell dmg in the video and i have 1.5k. I't at 190cp (but that does not explain the low spell dmg) Anybody know what am i missing? I read the build like 10 times but cant find my mistake :/
i have almost the same gear as you do, 90% best in slot but for some reason im not hitting those stat caps like you do,i use the same enchantments as well, what am i doing wrong :3 (same with the battery) cp~370

Btw why DW willpower instead of vicious death? Isnt the spell dmg more useful than max magicka that goes on and off when bar switching?
You don't need imperial city for willpower anymore, you can get jewelry and weapons from dungeon activity finder rewards.

why don't you use dw as the main dps bar and destro as the buffs + AOE'S that way you'll be hitting harder?

I have one called Ignition just using optimal sets though.
Is it able to at least solo WBs using generic gear? Not being able to kill them get into my nerves XD

What are those skillbars? I've never seen that, only 5 slots and the ultimate, and that's that!

Yeah, you have to find what works for you even if that means removing ritual and keeping both.
I fucking hate that they don't keep PvP/PvE nerfs and buffs seperate.

its the only thing that really applies on the build
u dont need to spec points into anything else but twinblade and blunt :)
I heard Sharpened isn't as good as precise for PvE, is this true? I was told spell penetration doesn't work against adds/bosses
Nocturnal Azura it does but here is the things bosses and dungeon ads goes for trials as well don’t have much resistance so having about 4K penetrations is all you really need maybe even lower that’s just how much I use and it got nerfed by 50% so really precise is better to run just for the simple fact it’s a 6% increase and you will do more damage

I already have my magpler character and he does perform well to a certain extent but to get a build like this would i need to respec my abilities?
Im also primary using heavy armour should that change to medium and light?
Hey. I'm now trying this build and having some issue. I'm using the withered hand and mother's sorrow sets.
I saw you have more than 30k dps. In the best case i have max 17-20k. I know half of my gear isnt divine, i dont use poisons or spell dmg potions.
But you have 2k+ spell dmg in the video and i have 1.5k. I't at 190cp (but that does not explain the low spell dmg)
Anybody know what am i missing? I read the build like 10 times but cant find my mistake :/

i have almost the same gear as you do, 90% best in slot but for some reason im not hitting those stat caps like you do,i use the same enchantments as well, what am i doing wrong :3 (same with the battery) cp~370
