I like the way you break things into little sections and explain what you are doing. A busy scene like that is intimidating to me, but you make it a little easier.
Teoh, you make it easy to understand . It was very helpful seeing how you follow that vanishing point,. sometimes it looks off but in the end I learned how you stay true to that point and it turns out right. I need to follow that rule. thanks .
If you want accuracy, you have to make sure you go to the vanishing point all the time. And you need to get the proportions right. You just have to be more careful to be accurate.
I can’t begin to tell you how helpful this tutorial was to my drawing. Thank you so much for simplifying this into understandable visuals that have had a huge impact in developing my skills. Thank you!
Thanks Teoh for this long video. I understand better now how do you simplify a scene as complex as this one. It must eliminate the details that bring nothing to the drawing.
Hi. Thanks so much for all your help. You simplify very well all that you do and it helps me a lot. I love drawing but all the video I see almost scared me for the well everybody draws....you help me very much.
Hi Teoh, awesome tutorial. I'm learning how to better sketch but my problem is the proportions. I will try to find the right vanishing point and to mark it on the paper, as you did. It makes the drawing process easier. Thank you :D
Teoh Yi Chie, oh, I meant what did you drow first? On the video you started with the supporting structure, as it is the biggest object. But in the actual drowning, it did not fit in. So what did you drow first in the actual picture? Thanks! 😄
Hi Teoh! Would it be possible for you to explain how to draw circles and ovals in perspective? I have been looking at a lot of places and find the explanation rather complex. Thanks for the great videos!
Ovals and circles in perspective are difficult. When drawing from observation, you have to pay close attention to the proportion and position of the circle relative to the elements just beside it. You can check out this video th-cam.com/video/08E0IfhLfcQ/w-d-xo.html To practise, I suggest you draw a mug with a handle. I mention handle specifically because you can use the handle a tool to help gauge the size of your circle/ellipse. Pay attention to where the circle curves, and which arcs are longer or shorter.
Hello Teoh, is it possible to review Rendr Sketchbook? I like to know you're thoughts on the sketchbook, to better understand before deciding on purchase the sketchbook myself. Anyway Great Video 🤓

Following your video makes creating such a complicated scene much more achievable. Thank you for dividing the process into "baby steps"!
Great work! I love how you simplify things in general. You have a really good sense of what to leave out and what to leave in (:

Love how you simplify such a complicated subject.
I am amazed at the patience that you exhibit in measuring to compose and get your perspective right. So many parts to consider for a single sketch.
With more practice, it becomes second nature.
I have always found complicated scenes overwhelming but your video makes it seem manageable. Genius! Thank you!

Thanks. Glad you found the video helpful 😁
This is great! I'd love to see you do a part 2 where you go through a similar thought process on adding colour to this same sketch.
Teoh, you are so great in the way you explain things. I also love how you often show your reference photo as you sketch. This is so helpful.
Thanks 😁
Thank you so much. Love watching you teach and especially liked the bird sounds in the background of this video.
+Old Koloa Thank you 😁
This is the best video I've seen on TH-cam!
Thanks. I'm flattered 😁
Great as always! Have been following the channel for years and it has been a fantastic journey!

Thanks Teoh for this long video. I understand better now how do you simplify a scene as complex as this one. It must eliminate the details that bring nothing to the drawing.
I learned a lot. I knew some elements of that but you explained how it really works. Thank you.
I am learning so much from you, Teoh! Love your videos👍
Thanks :-)
This is just super helpful especially with inktober/sketchober/drawtober challenges hahahahahah 😅

Thank you for sketching tutorial. I have hard time with starting urban sketching. You're inspired me a lot when I draw my sketches.

So helpful Teoh! Thank you :-)
This was interesting, I've always had difficulty determining where the vanishing point is on a photograph. thanks
if you want to create a fine line , with a zoom nib is mutch comfortable to tilt your pen upside down
Learned a good bit here. ^_^ Thanks Teoh.
Excellent. Thank you.

+Azzu Paris For proportions, you just have to measure carefully, slowly. Measure and compare against other elements in the scene.
this video is very helpful thank you. I love your videos
+Daniel Lindler Thanks 😁
Wow- thanks so much for this tutorial!
thank you for making videos very helpful
Perfect😊
Braaaaaaaavoooooooo!!!!!!!
Do you have a video on determining the vanishing point?
Maybe this video th-cam.com/video/UvbNZCzsA60/w-d-xo.html
Thank you!
Hi! Thanks for the video! Could you tell me, please, what did you start with in the actual drowning? I mean, the biggest element in the painting?
The fountain pen? It’s a Sailor fountain pen with Zoom nib
Teoh Yi Chie, oh, I meant what did you drow first? On the video you started with the supporting structure, as it is the biggest object. But in the actual drowning, it did not fit in. So what did you drow first in the actual picture?
Thanks! 😄
Great tutorial! It's great to see how you approached and well explained. But is this urban sketching since you are using a photo as reference?
+Marlene Lee Strictly speaking it is not considered urban sketching which people usually refer to as drawing on location.
