Brilliant jig for reference points. I wondered why you were brushing on paint but thought it might be rust treatment POR15 is great stuff, as long as you don't mind paint on your hands for weeks after. Hope you get registration sorted.
Late to the table, but glad to have a seat anyway. Rebuilding a clutch on 1963 Vespa VBB-2T. Going to have to break it down again, it is a grabber. Enjoy these as much as your work on The Repair shop.
I've got a 1979 Vespa awaiting restoration....only been waiting about 20 years to do it, so maybe I'll let you make all the mistakes etc, and copy you up!! Love the work Dominic! Best of luck son!!
I am seriously viewing your videos in the wrong order... I teach computers at a college in the US and when I need a break from grading I invest a few minutes to watch one of your uploads. I discovered the Repair shop a year ago during lockdown, and the TH-cam algorithms brought me to your site. Keep up the great work, and thanks for the enlightening distractions
Love the channel, Dom. Since Repair Shop was taken off the air in the US, I can at least visit with you on your channel regularly. Great work. Inspiring!
I might be the world's least hands on practical guy but I really love watching multi skilled hands on people just doing their thing. Love you on The Repair Shop and I subscribed to this channel as soon as I found out about it (Which was only 2 days ago). Looking forward to seeing all your builds and transformations.
Fantastic. Just about to take a GS 160 apart to paint it the proper grey white it should be. Look forward to watching your restoration. Also… nice 356.
Enjoyable video Dom. Nice to see a Landy and old BSA (?) in the background too as a ex JLR employee and a biker! I have only ridden the modern Vespa 300s with the four stroke engines, so it was good to see another classic scooter been saved. The 1970's models get overlooked I suppose when compared to the iconic 60's stuff with all the mod associations. I don't 'do' Instagram' so great to see you starting a TH-cam channel. I really enjoy seeing your work on the Repair Shop too obviously and really appreciate how you try to conserve as well as restore an item
Very nice, looking forward to more. Might I share a tip? I keep a spray bottle in my garage with water and dish soap in it. In addition to warming rubber bits spray a bit of soapy water on to act as lubricant. Works great and evaporates so doesn't leave any nasty residue or adversely affect the rubber.
Good one Dom and it’s you that gets oily fingers so I don,t have to !!! Looking forward to watching your antics in the future! You have loads of talent on the Repair shop it’s also nice to know you made that distinctive sign for, you have skills boy👍👍👍🏍🏍🏍
Hey Dom! Fantastic that I found you and really cool that you're doing an old Vespa. I'm also doing an old Honda MT250 so bike rebuilds are great to watch and learn. Another watcher from The Repair Shop👍 When you were putting on the rubber boots - if you're stuck without a heat gun you can also boil a kettle and then pour the hot water over the rubber, let sit for a minute and it will soften them right up. 🙂
Hey Dom. 👋🏻😃 Great vid and an excellent choice of vehicle sir!! ❤️ I’ve been riding Vespas (PX & GTS) for quite some time and love em! Great that you’re going to keep as much of the original scoot as you can and it is looking good already. I look forward to the journey and the final result. Take care and stay upright. 🇬🇧 Deano. 🛵💨 😃👍🏻
This is the best news ever your own TH-cam account so we can keep up to date with your projects. Can’t wait for all your updates. Good to see Wendy is helping you too. 🐶🐾
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Have now watched the lot and come back to here to say thank you for this quality series. Every minute a gem. A good showcase of your skills and presentation. Also the best behind the scenes of "The Repair Shop". Keep these coming Dom when you have time. A big thank you to Dan for all he has done in this too. Regards Rob
Hello from Newcastle, found your site by accident and I think I'm going to love it, having watched every 'Repair Shop' at least twice, I'm looking forward to this new site and have subscribed already so hope it all goes well for you, and a bonus for me is the Vespa (I used to ride a 150 back in the day) thanks for inviting us along, best wishes Stu.
Just found your tube this morning. Admired your work on the Repair Shop and now looking forward to seeing progress on the scooter build and all that follows. Noted the carpet felt on the bench great idea to protect the parts..
Only just seen this after spotting your Chanel and am currently working backwards, so apologies for any odd comment (like reading a book backwards I guess) Outstanding work by the way.
It’s interesting to hear about your background and how you ended up on The Repair Shop. I’m looking forward to seeing how you get on with your personal projects.
@@DominicChineas Yes fella. Got as far as the Landie delivery the other day. I always loved those IIa and would have loved a SWB 7 seater with the safari roof when I was in my late teen, or a 109 panelled hardtop to convert into a go anywhere camper! There are some still some Dormobile drawings for a roof and folding seat/bed online (and there seems to be an active dormobile website even! dormobile.co.uk). It would almost be a shame to loose that safari roof though. Any I’m off to watch a few more.
Excellent work Dominic, Finally something I can watch with my better half .Great contend looking forward to future videos. Keep up the great work & stay safe.
Great to see you on here Dom - I’m doing a ‘66 Motovespa Sprint so will follow this with interest - hopefully you can string a video together of how you did the engine? Lots of close-ups of the wiring please!!!!
Welcome to TH-cam! Great to hear you've set up a channel and so looking forward to seeing all your work on here. The Vespa is one of my absolute favourite projects of yours Dom. All the best with the new channel!
Hi Dominic, Found your site from suggestions. Am just binge watching previous episodes starting with the Vespa restoration ones first then the Vespa barn find next. Great work and keep them coming.
Nice one Dom....I’m a lambretta man myself, but had a few Vespas.. been watching with interest on Instagram. Good work love an original paint scooter, any vehicle that can tell it’s life story in its paint is super cool! Can’t wait to see more of the 356... a dream of mine to own one!
Great to see you on TH-cam and really enjoyed seeing your workshop and working on the Vesper. It be shared to our group The Repair Shop - Friendly Fans, hopefully encouraging even more people to follow you here. Keep them coming and keep up the good work. Ian Edwards
Never bothered much with Instagram, will have to change that to see the earlier stages unless they are 'retro-fitted' on this channel! Interesting to watch and have a nose around this skillful craftsman's domain.
I used to love taking things apart at a kid and would live to get stuck into something like this - but I know my limitations. I’m going to enjoy watching your progress.
The center stand return spring should be the other way round. Now the circular springy part will be in the way of the exhaust. Also the spring hook is missing. Without this hook the spring will digg itself into the frame rail.
My first restoration was a 76 150 super as well, should never have sold her but it is still about according to DVLA. Good luck with the rest of the restoration.
Hi nice work, there should be small s shaped clip that the stand spring located into most often there missing , if you need one let me know as I’ve an orginal one you can have . Normally stand fit would have roll pin knocked through to stop feet spinning
Just stumbled across your channel and look forward to your projects.. I'm a great fan of Repair Shop. Don't overdo the background music though. Much more interested in what you have to say.
Hi Dom that work of art you did for finding the stand holes great idea but would of been alot easier by just using abit of cardboard and traced the old one.
Well done Dom! I've always enjoyed your contribution to the Repair Shop, and this channel is a definite to those of us aspirant restorers. Keep it up! (BTW, we have no 'legal' way to watch TRS here in Canada......any suggestions?)

They are all a journey so try watch them in the right order! Haha
Either way, I’m glad your enjoying them, thank you
Thank goodness, a real restorer to follow at last! :-)
I try my best! Glad you found us
Fascinating! I owned a 1956 Vespa in 1958, and was quite attached to it until it got stolen! I’d quite like another even now I’m 83.
That's great Robert. Ive owned a few including a 59 Douglas but would be too afraid on 8 inch wheels in town at rush hour nowadays.
Awesome Dom. Can’t wait to see you get stick into the 356. 👍🏻
Excellent, Dom. I love your work on The Repair Shop and I’m going to find this channel fascinating too. Well done and thanks.

I bet! It wouldn’t have even been rusty in the 60s haha
Nice, something else worth watching on youtube. Looking forward to the others on this rustoration. Top stuff.

Wonderful Dom - really going to enjoy watching this channel. Could you put a link to the centre punch you used? Love how it self hammers, very clever

Hi Dom that work of art you did for finding the stand holes great idea but would of been alot easier by just using abit of cardboard and traced the old one.
I built it like that to use as a frame brace to hold the frame square and inline as I had to cut the floor and a lot of the tunnel out.
