Thanks Daryl Hannah I've always found. You to be a educated advocate for the earth since the 90's again THANKS FOR BEING THERE AS A PROTESTER where as others couldn't as I. Namaste'
Politicians will listen to multi-billion dollar industries more than the people and those same companies will also endorse and provide funding to those politicians. If it's nothing in it for them, they won't do it and that's how the government has always been.
She seems so nice. Much better than Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.Jackie was stupid to have told her son to not stay with Daryl. As if she had decent taste in men herself. Knowing how JFK Jr was still struggling with his own career, he actually was dating up when he was with Daryl Hannah. Then again, at least Daryl lived because she didn't end up in that plane crash with JFK Jr. Maybe Jackie did her a favour there. Still, Jackie was too controlling and jealous and in the end, she destroyed her son
So glad she did'nt stay with John Kennedy jr. It might have been her killed in his private plane if she had stayed with him. She is amazing. Go girl !!
@TheBlacksmith45 Okay, then why don't you tell us what studies we should research? I would love to hear how this is a clean source and how we have a thousand years of fuel. Funny, you would think that this information would be made a little more public, unless you are basing your research on the Exxon commercials you see on the Oprah network.
It's the destruction from laying the pipeline that is the biggest problem. Besides if one truck flips and spills, it's only one truck load. If the pipeline ruptures, a lot more escapes before they can shut it down. The pressure also tapers down with such distances.
@@paulmichaelfreedman8334Couldn't they make a pipe line that is more effective and last longer? If made right and done right, pipelines can last for years but they do need replacement or repairs.
@Derporsche try learning from the dutch people. Not only has it in the culture that bike is the most used transport but also public transportation trains and buses are preferred over cars, simply cause it is cleaner, energy efficient and cheaper. is oil in USA expensive? it was/is? more expensive here, makes people consider twice before using the car. And somehow it works. try to move 40 million people over such a small piece of land and you'll understand how gas decreases life standards
@4311falcon but inneffective how?...it depends where you are at...in mountainous regions solar works great...Wind...meh-not so...Wind energy could be an individual supplemental energy producer for homes...but its sonic harms to animals are a SERIOUS drawback...Geothermal...thats where its at in terms of efficiency.....dont just get informed and stop there just to have an opinion...if you have an engineers inclination design something for cris-sake...ps. dont let me school you...
@snipermike2065 yeah but its GMO modified crap anyway...i wouldn't eat it!...but you are right about it taking more fuel to create...same with fracking...
I'm an agricultural business major at the University of Arizona and have taken over two years of environmental studies. I feel Ms. Hannah makes very valid points for the most part. I'm with her on the renewable/sustainable energy solutions she has mentioned. We need more drive in these alternative fuel technologies because they do in fact exist and they work. However, I also believe in fossil fuels as a temporary/ transitional solution to environmentally friendly energy. It will not happen over night and will take some balancing between fossil fuels and renewable energy to transition to eco-friendly sustainable living. Another issue is to make changes in consumer values. We (US) are the largest consumers in the entire planet. Our lifestyles guide the type of energy sources we use. We consume more than we ever need which can be seen by our enormous ecological footprint. So a major solution to our energy dependence on fossil fuels stems from our lifestyles. When we change our values about the way we live, the faster we can move toward sustainable/renewable eco-friendly energy. One last point. I also believe that our military will still need its dependence on fossil fuels for our security. Fossil fuel is too efficient for military equipment to switch to alternative fuels at this time. We may be able to get away with hydrogen fuel cell, nuclear, algae, wind, hydro, geothermal and solar power for certain platforms but oil is still going to remain the dominant fuel source for other high performance platforms. So I'm all in for renewable energy innovation and use but we need to change our consuming lifestyles and still need fossil fuels for an efficient military.
@TheBlacksmith45 Daryl, like Naomi Klein are exponentially smarter than you and that bothers you and makes you insecure, snarky and meanspirited. There is NO facet of oil production that is sustainable OR clean. People have known this for a very long time. Now that we're into the back half of the bell shaped curve that "Peak Oil" is drawn up on, people are getting very desperate and one can hear it in your voice.

The thing is, the only reason the government loves more and more oil is gor alot of tax revenue.
@TheTrollTime Puppet on a string When will the greed and destruction stop
You're right about the puppet part

She is a gangster.
what a friggin burnout .... Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
@badw0lfvirus Absolutely right not many know about Jacque and the "Venus Project"
All that oil is being moved by trucks now. So...wouldn't a pipe line be safer.

@ddail79 Big semis carry oil and gasoline all the time. It would be terrible to see those tumble.

PLEASE Daryl STOP talking about biofuels....only electric cars are green NOT hybrids not hydrogen only real EV's.

@TheTrollTime Obvious have limited thinking and verbal skills
biofuels take food off your table . you need to do more research before you talk takes more fuel than it creates that biofuel crap .
