I find myself laughing a lot at the physical exaggerations that Randy is able to perform. If a human did it, it would look clumsy and/or weird, but Randy combines it with witty and clever humour to make a show that is just non-stop brilliance.
Love me some Randy. What I love most is that I haven't got a clue what the person looks like who controls him. I don't even know if there are pictures or video of that guy, even if I wanted to look. But that person makes Randy such a real and tangible character that I seriously forget that there is someone actually behind the curtain so to speak.
Don't say I never give you anything . . . I love Randy too, spent a week looming through TH-cam to find a clip of the real dude, he's the smaller bearded guy in the clip . . .youtube/E7_NnlUehs0
@@melissastone6388 I guess I must have missed your comment when you first sent it. As well as a few others whom I must've missed as well. I appreciate the link, however as of yet I have not clicked on it. I'm still very much debating on whether I really want to see the man behind the puppet. I love how real Randy is to me. Obviously not in appearance, but in his persona. Randy has such personality. And I worry that seeing the man who controls him will in some way tarnish that affinity I have for Randy resulting in him simply becoming just a puppet made of plastic and synthetic fibers.
I love this guy and character!! First of all, the puppetry is SO second nature for him and at this point so instinctively intertwined his thoughts!! Secondly, he's even better live...saw him in a performance at the Adelaide Fringe festival in 2017 and even though it was mostly scripted his ability to 'nail' both improvised moments and scripted/rehearsed material for the entire show. And he did hands down the best example of prolonged nuanced physical comedy that I've ever seen.....surrounding his inability (as a puppet) to easily turn pages of a book that interrupted a 'sermon' of sorts that he was giving, before preceding to painstakingly yet calmly attempt to turn one page for 2 minutes (get closer with most attempts), eventually end with the page getting turned right before the line "oh bugger it is was on the last page"...utterly hilarious in it's BRILLIANT performance!!! 😆😆😆😆
OMG I just fell deeply in love with a puppet! The fact that he wants nothing to do with twitter was the final tipping point and now I just have to love him. Plus, of course, there's the fact that he's hilarious AND intelligent... both my weak spots. I don't care if he's made of felt... (and yes I know there's a bloke behind the puppet) .... he's pure gold to me!
The closest I could think of is in the "Randy is Sober" special when he turns to a lady he tried to speak to but she kept giggling, and said "Shut up, you had your turn!" but that was more lighthearted and funny. I'd love to see him flail about and call someome a cocksucker.
The thing about randy is that he's personality is not annoying or obnoxious for the sake of it. He can go very high and then come back to speaking normally like you're just friends chatting . He's very funny and very much like a comfort character from a show, like Michael Scott from the office.
Randy: “oh, yeah, I’m having a great time in New York, the audiences are great.” Randy a few years later in his new special: “when I did my show in New York it was miserable! They hated me! And I decided I was going to quit comedy forever!”
It feels so cool that Randy and Nina know each other. Would just love to see Randy and Monkey as antagonists in a show of some kind. Or in a remake of Amadeus.
Randy is giving all of the gestures and body language of a person being interviewed as he he answers questions off the cuff. It is so subtle and brilliant because of how natural it is coming off.
Very good questions, but I wish you would listen better to his responses. It felt more like you were working hard to get through a list rather than make a connection and engage in real communication. By all means prepare a list, so you have somewhere to go if things go off the rails or stall, but when you ask an insightful question to someone and they show you respect by giving you a thoughtful and honest answer, slow down to examine and explore that answer. Canned responses don't deserve a second look, but when an answer is lovingly crafted just for you, as most of these were don't throw it away.
No, it's a meme mate. It's based off a stand up act Randy did a while back where he claims he has written a book but then never reads it to the audience. It's quite good actually.
A novel would be fun ! I could see a set up, where the original book is followed by upgrades. Sort of a serial novel. May be very doable, especially with all the e-readers. Think about it ?
@@MaocatsMisadventures Honestly, the way he crafts a story during the show, pretty much shots he would write a great book... if he didn't procrastinate like a motherfucker.
I would not catergorize Hemingway in the same way as #MeToo or Cosby. The latter were clearly just insecure, exploiting their victims because they could. Hemingway I'd put it somewhere closer to Stan Lee or Michael Jackson or Walt Disney. What you're doing is so awesome there are other forces at work. Maybe some bad things happened along the way but some of that was incidental to you just being awesome.
@@APAMVs Creatively, quite a lot. Privately nothing as cool as the others here (Jack Kirby and Alan Moore are closer for balls-out awesome to Hemingway). Biggest slams against Lee are him taking the credit over guys like Kirby and Steve Ditko, reaping the benefits while his co-creators struggled to get royalties and work. There's also the question of how much he was aware of or opposed to Marvel's more jerkish business practices in the 80s and 90s. Not crimes by any stretch, just those blemishes any creator gets on their reputation after awhile.
Wow that is some abuse apologia if I've ever seen one. "Were clearly just insecure". "What you're doing is so awesome that there are other forces at work". What, MJs victims were overwhelmed by the force of his magical schlong? F off buddy.
Randy seems a tad tired in this interview . I wish Randy would return , Oh how I miss the lovable douche bag . Sammy J is just annoying without Randy to kick his ass. Cheers

It's the first interview in which I've ever heard randy talk with such a calm tone.
also the most serious I've seen him since being a spokesperson for Learn2Live
“I’ve called him a mother-“ so calming though
Randy is a unique comedian. He has the energy of Bill Burr but the image of Kermit. It’s a lovely mix, and I absolutely love his humor.
I find myself laughing a lot at the physical exaggerations that Randy is able to perform. If a human did it, it would look clumsy and/or weird, but Randy combines it with witty and clever humour to make a show that is just non-stop brilliance.
He reminds me a lot of James Acaster
I love Randy and Bill but they really arent all that similar
bill burr doesnt make me laugh and isn't as intelligent
I'm so baffled as to he moves the puppet so naturally and flowy
limpydick lenny Puppet?

Mr Big: Don't listen to the lie --- Sammy J started it after they parted ways.
This is a man truly dedicated to his craft to come on an interview in character, such a fantastic comedian
9:59 Is fucking brilliant. WHO DOES PUPPETRY LIKE THAT?! LOVE YOU RANDY!!
We need more randy. Randy should have a Netflix special.
netflix censors too much - it's better when he releases them himself. which he already does. just look them up
This is the calmest I've ever seen Randy been...
Randy Feltface is my spirit animal.
21:59 of Randy being "in character/comfortable in his own skin" more effortlessly than most humans are...
I really wish I could see Randy on the JRE.
Would be awesome to see
Stoned Rogan vs. Sober Randy would be great
I need find a clip of randy going in on a heckler if it exists

Great interview. I found myself so engaged with the little purple guy. Fun stuff, Matt!
So thoughtful and intelligent loved it
I'm kinda disappointed he never asked why Randy & Sammy J don't perform together as much anymore
Sammy J sucks that´s why! Randy should kick his ass out of their flat and become full time solo act
I only found this a year later... I live in NY so now I'm kinda sad.
Randy looking around at the beginning like a video game character idling
i love randy. but i really need to know if the non-existing man under the table is comfortable at least?! i hope he has some special chair or pillow.
yeah i was wondering too
Honestly I’m not a fan of all the content but Randy is really brilliant. His crowd work is some of the best I’ve ever seen.
I have only one thing to say to that. If I saw Randy Feltface walking down the street, I absolutely WOULD recognise him!

Gorgeous Randy.
Feels bad for so little subscribers
Now I really want to see randy on HYBPA
Come to Louisville ky please!!!!

Wait is this Mattaruni? Mattress?
THE PUPPETRY, Y'ALL!!
He sound like toddyquest, or ohm, or terroriser. I love randy
Ah! So, thaaaat's what the phrase, 'wheat from the chaff' means.
Waaaaaaaiiiiiit why is randy's voice different 😭😭😭😭 he sounds like a hot 20 yr old rather than that grating, shouting bogan voice
He only has 135 subscribers. Omg lol I can't stop laughing.
Sounds like a podcast. Haha
A lot of New Yorkers are snobby. Randy needs to come back to New York.
Agree about Bon Scott ,the rest can pfffffffft!
Hemmingway vs Cosby = Crazy vs Criminal... no where near the same thing
