To really do these two justice, there would need to be a plot revolving around loose ends left in 5Ds like Divine/Sayer and new danger that draws Aki(za) away from Berlin towards New Domino. All while using new additions to the card game as promotional items (Blood Rose Dragon for instance). Then, at the end, show Yusei and Akiza finally and fully expressing their feelings to each other.

When the CEO reveals that he knew who he was all along, there they show a little graph about yusei and almost everything is unkown except his age (19 when that happened) so yeah, I can totally see him being 20 in that scene. I see some commenters saying they never actually get together after this, but keep in mind what Aki says to herself as all of Team 5D’s goes their separate ways: that she won’t say goodbye like the others, because she knows she’ll be back, all while the screen shows her D-Wheel’s mirror with Yusei reflected in it. Clearly the show was saying that eventually, even if after the timeskip we see in the show itself, Aki will return for Yusei

I see her as a strong willed and determined woman who stopped herself on confessing in order to set her future right ..and then return for the one she loves…but that doesn’t mean she gave up .. like you mentioned she never said goodbye forever ..after the 8 years time skip as well as at the farewell scene she always initiated on meeting Yusei again. Be it him needing the power of those birth mark for the Limit over Accel Synchro or him finally dueling/fighting for himself to find his future instead of for the others as usually. It was the best romance in my opinion and seeing the series again they are totally a couple and will return together one day as both said many times in the finale. The scene was amazing. Set up perfectly well and music makes your heart go Doki doki as it was so beautiful. Same with throughout the series you see how close thier bond gets. Yusie would never take anyone to the roller ring but he takes Aki and then the clock kid pulls away from he immediately and the best one is the movie where yusie sees all his friends in his mind and AKI WINKS AT HIM. he loves her and she loves him. End of story.
To add the sweet cherry for the canon cake (and they are canon), there are cards called converging wishes and stardust trail where the draconic lady looks a lot like aki. (seriously, look it up. Her effect works so well with yusei's deck.) It was apparent that they ship this pairing and they ship it hard considering that the card made him win against z-one.
They kissed. End of story. The very least. Maybe even hooked up but they did kiss. I’ve believed in that ever since I saw that scene for the very first time.

I agree. I know there are people who ship Yusei with Sherry but they have no chemistry and don’t have a strong connection like how Yusei has with Aki. Plus Yusei and Aki have been shown to have mutual feelings for each other and support each other. Which I don’t find their relationship just platonic. If only we got a Yugioh 5Ds post movie sequel that shows how they ended up together.
"Judai is Judai" is such a perfect quote to describe Judais total cluelessness about everything (not only women) But yes Yusei was the only Protag who is adult enough to understand the female Protags feelings. I mean Anzu loved Atem not Yugi, Judai is Judai, Yuma understood it in the last seconds of the ENDING, Yuya was a idiot who never truly said he loved her and Yusaku is just too cool/edgy for girls

So, the Pendulum mechanic was a mistake as a TCG player. The show was fun for the first few arcs I like TH-camrs/Entertainers you combining that with YGO I am up for it totally on board. Then, it did what all Yugi shows do time to save the world, then the plot got a little to convoluted. This was a hot mess.

Great video on this beautiful scene. Even after 5D's ended, I'm still a Faithshipper and I even made an AMV 2 years ago of Yusei and Aki with Helpless When She Smiles as the song choice and I'm still very proud of it.
@@WhoRocksRman I don't, but not because I think it's not plausible. I think the theory is sound and would be neat but the YGO timeline gets really weird after 5D's. I'm pretty sure both series happen inside of separate timeline branches. That being said, if they are actually sequential, I think this would be very neat and make sense. There is a girl who looks like Aki next to a girl who looks like Asuka in a filler episode which was a neat cameo.

I know this is 11 months old, but I still want to say it. 5D's is my fav series and I think about it a good bit. If I had the money and knowledge I remember wishing I could make a live action fan film of Yusei and Akiza's child turbo dueling and summoning "Stardust Rose (or Black) Dragon" the loce child of Stardust and Black Rose Dragon.
An equally romantic scene imo is in the duel with Rex Godwin where he tries to break Jack by pointing out that he still wants to be king and to do that has to be alone and then we think Jack succumbed to him because he didn't use Yusei's card But jack's like "You're right. I used to be alone. But Carly's love saved me" You expect him to duel for his friends in typical Yu-Gi-Oh fashion but nope, he's dueling for the woman he loves
I would have made a LOUD freaken fanboy reaction had they kissed ON-SCREEN. I still remember watching that scene back in 2011 and I covered my mouth with both my hands as I watched the scene play out for the first time. When Aki closed her eyes, I STILL squealed excitedly because I was following the ship for 3 years. I watched it multiple times after that with a big smile on my face and was giddy for weeks after that. To this day, 5D's remains my #1 top Yu-Gi-Oh! series to date and there has yet been a series to beat it.
I don't think Judai was clueless in that scene He was just still emotionally traumatized from the whole supreme king thing so it's no surprise it's hard for him to connect

I mean I speculated this scene is where they kiss, but the wiki says they stared into each others eyes, but I don't think that's true since at one point she closes her eyes and that's what most do when they kiss someone.
I remember like, reading a breakdown of this scene before watching it myself (yes I technically spoiled myself that’s fine) and the person that wrote it was like “lol they 100% kissed you cannot tell me otherwise, there were so many hints” and I was like “nah come on, they are exaggerating there is no way they’d never commit to this” and then I watched the scene myself and laughed because I had indeed been bamboozled. The entire scene is so cheesy and over the top but that is the reason why I love it and now I discover there is an entire video about it lord help me

They were probably the most explicit ship that wasn't confirmed in the show. Aki was clearly in love with Yusei and a lot of subtext seems to point to Yusei maybe having a crush on her.
- I feel like Tea and Yugi had one feelings for one another, but didn't say anything because Tea wanted to go to America and their relationship might make things difficult -I feel like Jaden must have realized at one point in season 4 Alexis was interested in him, but didn't want to drag her into his world since last time he did that, she technically died -Yusei probably already knew about her feelings, but like with Tea and Yugi, didn't their feelings to get in the way of their future, which was the whole point of the finale. -Yuma is freaking clueless considering he had three girls interested in him. -Yuya was definitely in love with Yuzu and I'm glad that they didn't confess at the end of the anime because I felt that would further ruin the ending (and we all know how bad the finale was) - Vrains is most likely the first one where neither is romantically interested in the other, but you can definitely tell a relationship is slowly building up. They went from classmates to accquaintaces, then comrades in the virtual world and when Aoi found out about Yusaku being Playmaker, I genuinely feel they became friends at that point. Also my birthday is today, o can I get a happy birthday? XD

The YuseixAki scene to this day remains as my favorite 5D’s scene. I doubt anything can top ot for me and actually has inspired me to create a similar scene with my oc and Luna (sounds cringe and I’m aware of it, and I don’t care. It’s my oc ship, I can do what I want)
I'm not so sure if being clueless and naive is really typical for YGO protagonists. I think it's rather typical for young protagonists of any show. Atem was certainly not clueless, but he had other concerns. Yugi was interested in Anzu, but he was way too shy. Judai and Yuma were idiot heroes, clueless and naive when it comes to other people's feelings, especially girls. Yuya wasn't clueless but certainly not mature enough to handle any romantic feelings. Yusaku is mature like Yusei, but he's also emotionally too isolated and more of a loner. Yusei is definately the most mature and most open to other people's feelings, which is understandable because he's also the oldest of the protagonists (unless you count Atem being 3000 years old).
They could literally just make the 5D's movie Yusei and Akiza's wedding and I would buy out the entire theater opening night.

I don't remember where I heard this but at the start of the series Yusei is actually about 17 ish. But by the end of the series he's 21-22

i still don't understand why he had to imagine that they kissed instead of just show it. Was it too much to show a loving kiss between 2 adults? and remember how heartbroken was the moment between jack and carly? just think how much more depressing would be if she decomposed instead just an inch before they would be kissed.

Great video on this beautiful scene. Even after 5D's ended, I'm still a Faithshipper and I even made an AMV 2 years ago of Yusei and Aki with Helpless When She Smiles as the song choice and I'm still very proud of it.

@@WhoRocksRman I don't, but not because I think it's not plausible. I think the theory is sound and would be neat but the YGO timeline gets really weird after 5D's. I'm pretty sure both series happen inside of separate timeline branches.
That being said, if they are actually sequential, I think this would be very neat and make sense. There is a girl who looks like Aki next to a girl who looks like Asuka in a filler episode which was a neat cameo.

EVERY HEAD CANON THAT EVERYONE HAD ABOUT THEM IS OFFICIALLY CANON. Never confirmed, but we're all 95% sure what went down with them. It's like that dead deku in majora's mask. So many hints and clues that confirms Link's deku mask came from the deku butler's dead son, but it was never confirmed (I sure hope people understand this reference)
I know this is 11 months old, but I still want to say it. 5D's is my fav series and I think about it a good bit. If I had the money and knowledge I remember wishing I could make a live action fan film of Yusei and Akiza's child turbo dueling and summoning "Stardust Rose (or Black) Dragon" the loce child of Stardust and Black Rose Dragon.
Yusei and Aki kissed, and the last Scene when you see Yusei and Ushio Talking is evident.
An equally romantic scene imo is in the duel with Rex Godwin where he tries to break Jack by pointing out that he still wants to be king and to do that has to be alone and then we think Jack succumbed to him because he didn't use Yusei's card
But jack's like "You're right. I used to be alone. But Carly's love saved me"
You expect him to duel for his friends in typical Yu-Gi-Oh fashion but nope, he's dueling for the woman he loves

I would have made a LOUD freaken fanboy reaction had they kissed ON-SCREEN. I still remember watching that scene back in 2011 and I covered my mouth with both my hands as I watched the scene play out for the first time. When Aki closed her eyes, I STILL squealed excitedly because I was following the ship for 3 years. I watched it multiple times after that with a big smile on my face and was giddy for weeks after that. To this day, 5D's remains my #1 top Yu-Gi-Oh! series to date and there has yet been a series to beat it.
It's finales like these that make me just want each Yu-Gi-Oh! show have another sequel

I remember like, reading a breakdown of this scene before watching it myself (yes I technically spoiled myself that’s fine) and the person that wrote it was like “lol they 100% kissed you cannot tell me otherwise, there were so many hints” and I was like “nah come on, they are exaggerating there is no way they’d never commit to this” and then I watched the scene myself and laughed because I had indeed been bamboozled. The entire scene is so cheesy and over the top but that is the reason why I love it and now I discover there is an entire video about it lord help me

-I feel like Jaden must have realized at one point in season 4 Alexis was interested in him, but didn't want to drag her into his world since last time he did that, she technically died
-Yusei probably already knew about her feelings, but like with Tea and Yugi, didn't their feelings to get in the way of their future, which was the whole point of the finale.
-Yuma is freaking clueless considering he had three girls interested in him.
-Yuya was definitely in love with Yuzu and I'm glad that they didn't confess at the end of the anime because I felt that would further ruin the ending (and we all know how bad the finale was)
- Vrains is most likely the first one where neither is romantically interested in the other, but you can definitely tell a relationship is slowly building up. They went from classmates to accquaintaces, then comrades in the virtual world and when Aoi found out about Yusaku being Playmaker, I genuinely feel they became friends at that point.

I'm not so sure if being clueless and naive is really typical for YGO protagonists. I think it's rather typical for young protagonists of any show.
Atem was certainly not clueless, but he had other concerns. Yugi was interested in Anzu, but he was way too shy.
Judai and Yuma were idiot heroes, clueless and naive when it comes to other people's feelings, especially girls.
Yuya wasn't clueless but certainly not mature enough to handle any romantic feelings.
Yusaku is mature like Yusei, but he's also emotionally too isolated and more of a loner.
Yusei is definately the most mature and most open to other people's feelings, which is understandable because he's also the oldest of the protagonists (unless you count Atem being 3000 years old).
