it did have more proximity effect. I wouldn't sing into the mic that closely myself.

I picked up a Bluebird a few years back and the First thing I noticed is that although the included windscreen Looks pretty cool... it doesn't actually function very well as a pop screen. Interesting to note that both of these mics apparently have that same issue.
Which one handles loud sounds and screaming better? I need to know for my satanic death core band.

wouldnt the baby bottle sit better in a mix? for male vocals at least. The bass response is quite strong on the blue bird, i feel it clouds the other frequencies. I ask because I have used a few mics and felt my voice is to bassy for many of them. The spark was definitely the best one ive tried but now im looking for an upgrade.
any update on mics?

which one is better
Is the bluebird good on teen male vocals (think Jackson 5)? Please Respond. I enjoy your videos. Is the AKG C214 a good mic?
it is a great mic, it has a little extra hiss noise, but you can take care of that when mixing. i've recently purchased a CAD E100s, i got it on ebay for 300 bucks, it's made in America and has no extra noise and is great on vocals. both are great, but the E100s is my fav. I'll do a review on it in about a week or so. Thanks for the comment.
How good do you think the E100s is for voiceover? I was comparing it to the bluebird. Does E100s have a crispier clean sound or more bassy output?

I just bought a baby bottle and I called the blue mic headquarters and they don't make baby bottles in USA. Only the higher-end ones like the Kiwi and Cactus are made in USA not blue-bird or baby bott.e I'm curious where you got your mics?
the first few hundred of the bluebird are made in the usa, they are the prototype as i understand, this was on a forum, so i did not get the info from Blue. my babybottle is china but the bluebird is usa, i've played with other bluebirds and they are different weight, bird nest, and shell.
THANK YOU! These were the exact two I was looking for a comparison of. They sound almost exactly the same to me. I do think the bluebird sounds ever so slightly better, surprisingly as the blue bottle is over a grand so I'd think the smaller version would sound comparable...

Thanks a lot for posting this as I'm debating between those to particular mics to add to my recording gear. I'm on a budget and would love to have both, but this helps me narrow it down for my needs. I think the Bluebird has more presence in both ranges, the Baby Bottle seemed especially dull on the low end to me. Thanks again, and have fun!

yup. Fender MIM does similiar. Some Fender Mexico are Mexican parts, some are USA parts assembled in Mexico. Not that it matters much, but i find the solders are different and they make more noise, plus USA typically holds value. with the mics, the china are a bit noiser (white noise) and when you add compression they sound more digital. i'm not an expert, but this is my observation

no problem, the beginning of the video shows the plates that have the country of manufacture. the box will say engineered in America even when it's made in china, so look at the mic.

The Baby Bottle has more upper mids and sounds more open. The Bluebird sounds much fatter and warmer. Somewhere in between would be amazing! Set them up side-by-side cardioid. Identical channel and inputs and align any phase disparity. Mix to taste.
Baby bottle was sounding clear and crisp where bluebird was sounding muddy.
wait, did you say the bluebird is around $420? I''ve seen it on sale for about a year on Guitar Center for $300
yup it is a USA version, the China models are around 300
is there much of a difference between the bluebird from USA and the one from CHINA?
The usa casing and mount are different, but what i noticed most is that the usa does not have white noise

Ignore what they say, It's your review do it the way you want to. If you want to have a twenty minute preaching session at the end by all means do so. Its interesting that you mentioned that the baby bottle was noisier, brcause Recording Hacks commented on how quiet it was. In the spec sheet it lists its self noise at 5.5 db and the Bluebird at 7.5 db. Now that doesnt mean your observation is wrong, just found it interesting.
the bluebird is USA prototype so that may make it more quiet because all the components are USA and made in USA.
What about the original Latvian.. made in USA js same china parts
Dude, Im REALY cool about the fact that you are a christian musician, realy, i find it awesome, but with all my respect being a christian myself, i dont find the line "i hope that if you are not a christian, jesus reveals himself to you", it doesnt bother me, but other non christian and non atheist people might not take it good, and we dont want trouble, we are all cool right? just with saying "may jesus be with you" would be eneugh, please dont use that line any more, for the sake of keeping things cool

To anyone complaining about his song containing Christian references, relax! If he was singing about sex, drugs or anything vulgar, you'd say nothing. The fact that he prays for anyone watching should make you feel good that someone cares for you in their own way. yup, the nest is different, the shell is different material, same internal parts but cheaper wires and solders in the china models. You'll find the USA does not have a buzz or extra noise when it is quiet. that is the major difference, and 100 bucks more the usa

baby bottle did better in the male low register at the beginning of the test IMO. I liked the bluebird when he sang higher. I liked them both.

Great review! I couldnt tell much difference but they both sound like really great mics. Btw i wanted to read comments to get other peoples opinions as i am caught between purchasing one of the two mics and its crazy how the majority of people cant get past their anger of you mentioning Jesus. Similar like when a priest reads passages from the bible to demon possessed. If you were singing islamic songs or using foul language there would definately not be any negative comments regarding that narrative.
