Thank you for the upload.💜 I wonder if the stage coach driver was supposed to sound like John Wayne and the poker player like Jimmy Stewart. They both sounded similar, but also waaaay off!😄 Ernie, however, sounded just like Goofy the dog!😂
Ernie is a direct take off of a cartoon character named Willoughby the dog and of course his partner George."which way did he go george da which way did he go" The poker player is a W.C. Fields voice.
@@keepingwaltindisney I have it on DVD along with all the Rankin/Bass Christmas and New Year's specials. It's a tradition for me to watch them all every year at Christmas time! They take me back to my childhood.🥰🎄
@@RogerMiller-music It lists Milas Hinshaw as the Field Producer. Roger Miller is listed right at the beginning of the credits. Take another look. Not sure why there isn’t singing, script doesn’t call for it I guess. But listening to Roger Miller narrate is a joy!
I checked the full credits , it does show Roger as he Narrator on the end credits. I will assume the front credit "narration by Milas Hinshaw " means he wrote it. Maybe they only paid Roger enough to narrate and not enough to sing as well. @@keepingwaltindisney
Calico is still a crackerjack place to visit.Draws a lot of city folks now.Right outside of Barstow California for those interested.

And how about Ben, the old prospector-who sounds like every villain-on every episode of Scooby Doo 😄
Thanks A Lot For Putting Out !!! Fantastic !!!
Amazing dudes!
Is this the same as the ghost town Calico outside of Barstow, CA? I used to go there on field trips in elementary school.
It sure is!!!
@@keepingwaltindisney Neat! The coolest thing there was one spot where balls would role uphill.
Nkay. Coolest field trip ever. 👌🚌✨✨✨
all those horses belonged to my great grandfather!!
❤❤❤
Everet was just as dumb if not dumber than George and his sidekick.
The narrator sounds like that rooster from Robin Hood.
Yes! That’s Roger Miller, who voiced Alan-of-Dale in Robin Hood! Great ear!
He also narrated Nestor The Long-Eared Donkey.🫏💜
@@shorty7363 wow!! I haven’t seen that in ages!!!

why no singing by Roger? even the end bit is read as a rhyme.
