    It looks like be easier to play as the traditional transversal flute. Great Idea!!!👍👏👏👏

    • @learningmusic
      @learningmusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is both easier and more ergonomic. =)

      Perhaps start on a recorder, I have 3 of them too =)

    Wow Mikael! Thx for this in depth comparison. This is very helpful and a great help for our customers!!

      My pleasure, and I have to confess that I love it so much that I use it more than playing my flute in the standard transverse way.
      This is pretty much revolutionary to me personally...now I don't have to get a complete set of tin whistles and low whistles in every single key haha. 😄

    I’m surprised this wasn’t invented already! Genius idea.

      For me it is perfect since I played Irish tin whistles and low whistles for years, and now I can play the same "style" and still be fully chromatic with ease. =)

    Thank you I was thinking of trying one, but it's really nice to see a video that's not sponsored by the company.😊

    Imagine being in a musical group in which one is playing a concert flute the traditional way, but sitting with a helicon player to the immediate right. The latter would say "I'll blast you if you poke me!" (Then perhaps trombonists behind them would attack them both!)

    Can you play it an octave higher?

    • @learningmusic
      @learningmusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First and 2nd octave works great, going into 3rd is doable but very piercing sound. =)

    Can you achieve an ‘overblown’ effect? Flutter-tongue also? 🤔

    • @learningmusic
      @learningmusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it really is...I now have 2 instruments in one. A standard flute, and this hybrid low whistle flute that's fully chromatic. =)

    Hybrid Flute???? or Recorder! better yet , a Boehm System Recorder.

    • @learningmusic
      @learningmusic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well the sound is more leaning towards a low whistle (low key Irish tin whistle) than a recorder, but yes other than that I agree with you. =)

      @@learningmusic As a recorder/flute player myself I think it is high time that the recorder got a serious make over after all it is a wonderful instrument but too many constraints.

    I have a fliphead but would rather use a regular head joint because theirs more feeling behind it but if you want your flute to sound like a tin whistle then the fliphead is for you.

    • @learningmusic
      @learningmusic  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree, I mostly use a normal head joint too, but having a fully chromatic low whistle is very nice when you want that sound. Almost like having 2 instruments in one. =)
