I notice two things at the start of the video: 1) Jane didn't specify a unit of currency, so Mike is probably a lot poorer than he realizes 2) Mike caved to the first price without even trying to haggle. My point with all this is that I think Egbert can now join Dob at the table of "group members who aren't allowed to handle the money"

Funny story about smashing computers with a hammer, my first day working at Staples was selling a laptop to someone with a wireless mouse. The came back because they thought the small USB receiver wasn't going in all of the way (part of it sticks out so you can pull it out) and took a hammer to get it to go all the way in. After they basically destroyed the computer, they realized their mistake and tried to return it for a refund. Pro tip to everyone - don't use a hammer on your computer (surprisingly?!?!?), it'll make that conversation with the sales/repair person very awkward.
I am listening to what you're saying, but my eyes are trying to locate what causes the clicking sound. I imagine it's Ellen behind the camera trying to keep the beat to their conversation by clapping. xD
Has the Dark Souls comparison jar been pulled out of play for this episode, because if not it looks like Mike and Jane are buying drinks at the pub this weekend.
So many people forget that difficult and hard in games is a thing, and they compare any game that is with "it's just like Dark Souls." Also, this game is made by the same people whom made "DarkDemonBlood" so this game is the exception in that comparison.
This would be a good place to pull the jar for this episode, considering Sekiro actively invites those comparisons by being a From Software game with similar core combat mechanics.

Andy's level of salt is so enjoyable. We all had that time when someone spams a cheap attack and beats you in a fighting game where you know all the combos.

THE CLICHE HORROR TITLE STRUGGLE IS REAL. My best friend and I love watching horror movies but we recently discovered we lost the list of nearly 70 titles we've seen so far. We spent a day wracking our brains and searching generic spooky words on IMDb to try and reconstruct it XD
I like how Andy's half-lighthearted irritation at Mike's Hitman Ghost Mode performance clearly rests on a deep foundation of blinding, apoplectic rage.
Ghost mode is sort of like speed chess. It’s about who can make the best move the fastest without necessarily taking the time to consider strategy. Single player is more like classic chess, where taking the time to consider all possible outcomes is rewarded.
The forgotten city reminds me of the irl "the forgotten valley" here in South Africa. Around 5 Afrikaans families broke off from their group and lived in a valley to hide from the British and Zulu's in the 1830's and were discovered by a journalist in the 1950's still living like their forefathers, no electricity, no formal education. It was like a time capsule.

The balance on the music in this episode is off. All during the Sakrio section there's a distracting loud beat. I thought it was my headphones but I unplugged them and it kept going. It's very distracting to have a high pitch drum beat all through the conversation. Still like the video content, just don't like the background track on this one.

Andy digging a hole about his game with Mike. Just admit it Andy, Mike had the upper hand by using his playstyle as an advantage ;) Just short bit of info, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Sekiro isn't about ninjas, but samurais. Though it looks like perhaps your character has a mixture of both. Ninjas were mainly known for guerrilla warfare, infiltration and sabotage. Ninjas weren't mainly used for assassinations, but they did still do them. The Ninja Assassin is really just Hollywood taking liberties with history. Samurais are known for honour and sword combat. Sekiro looks good though, may have to get it.

Watching Andy justify his losses to Mike in hitman every time this subject comes up is amazing and surreal. Due to the fact if im forced to play something im good at out of my comfort zone I also find myself making excuses instead of adapting to the situation. Remember Andy adapting is your best friend practice story speed runs get not witnesses kills as fast as possible and dont sweat the hitmans.
I love the looks and style of these games, (DS and such) but I don't want to die in every new environment and repeat the same fights. I know I'll get a lot of hate for this but I just want an easy mode, a mode where I can play the game not stressed out. I want to play this game but I won't because I know it'll be the same death over and over and over and over again.

I like how half the comments this week were just Andy complaining about Mike kicking his ass in Hitman multiplayer. As someone who often ends up playing like Mike it gives me hope for winning if I ever get the chance to play it.
Listening to Andy talk about his style vs. Mike's, I've come up with the perfect representation... Raiders Of The Lost Ark! Andy is the schimitar wielding guy- perfect technique, methodical, well rehearsed. Mike is Indy... just shoots them.

I hear about a game who's initial write up says "set in the closing years of the Sengoku period". Then I see the game and wonder if my cyborg ninja deals massive damage if he attacks his enemy's weak point?
I think y'all are confusing ninja and samurai and ronin Ninjas are like mercenaries or spies for hire. They did not really follow the same code of conduct/rules of engagement that samurai did. I.e. I haven't come across an instance of a ninja dueling anyone. Samurai were all about honor and dueling and codes and rules and having a lord. Ronin all that training and samurai mindset but lordless Has Andy not brought this up because it's Japanese history and not colonial America/early USofA history?
re: Gaming rut. around Christmas I realized I've got well over 500 games across Steam, GOG and etc... and that I'd played only a dismal amount of them... I only have enough time on my hands to truly get into maybe 5 games per year, so I am reticent to even start some of them. Turned it into a New Years Resolution: at least one game per day. Just to separate the chaff from the wheat... and upload it to youtube for accountability. Because that's what we do now in society, apparently.
In defense of Andy using his own analogy, there are martial arts in existence that are legitimately used by special forces, military, CIA, FBI, & etc. that will never really be seen in any sort of competition because they're based around strategies and techniques in fighting to finish quickly and efficiently, i.e. obliterate a bone or deliver a death blow asap, or avoid fighting altogether. The situation that two evenly sized individuals will be put in a ring with equal access to (no) weapons and any rules at all regarding how engagement occurs simply doesn't occur in the real life scenarios these arts are built around encountering. So while Mike's style is clearly better in this ghost mode, it's also clearly not a style that'd be better in any version of Hitman, and like fighting styles dominating UFC, it relies on exploiting what people can't do as much as it relies on what the practitioner can do.
These last few days I've been getting so many unskippable ads for Shekiro that I'm genuinely fed up with the game without having played a single minute of it. Ad placement FAIL
Mike and Andy playing Hitman 2 Ghost mode - it's a bit like Indiana Jones; Bad guy (Andy) jumps in with swords, whirling them like a pro, Indy (Mike) pulls gun out and shoots bad guy dead. Fair, probably not, winning, yes.

I was actually looking around my room checking to make sure there wasn't a leak or something dripping. The clicking sound in the underlying music is pretty distracting, but I'll definitely have to check out Kingdom because all those things Jane mentioned I'm really into.
Probably late to the party with this, but if anybody is in to the whole South-East-Asian-flavoured fantasy scene vis à vis Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and Kingdom, and if you don't mind reading books, check out the Lotus War series by Jay Kristoff. Excellent stuff, and I'm not just saying that because Mr Kristoff lives a few streets away from me.
Funny you guys mentioned Deep Blue, since if I recall correctly, it did win against Garry Kasparov exactly like that in at least one game out of six. Making a seemingly random move, whilst completely ignoring the "normal" game style and Kasparov's traps and just going for the kill, thus throwing the human player off and ultimately forcing him to surrender. Ahem. Mile = Deep Blue confirmed.

What i would like is a cross between Sekiro (jumping, griping and all that) and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (kicking enemies of cliffs and into spikes and all that), that would be a perfect game for me. Just short bit of info, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Sekiro isn't about ninjas, but samurais. Though it looks like perhaps your character has a mixture of both. Ninjas were mainly known for guerrilla warfare, infiltration and sabotage. Ninjas weren't mainly used for assassinations, but they did still do them. The Ninja Assassin is really just Hollywood taking liberties with history. Samurais are known for honour and sword combat. Sekiro looks good though, may have to get it.

Watching Andy justify his losses to Mike in hitman every time this subject comes up is amazing and surreal. Due to the fact if im forced to play something im good at out of my comfort zone I also find myself making excuses instead of adapting to the situation. Remember Andy adapting is your best friend practice story speed runs get not witnesses kills as fast as possible and dont sweat the hitmans.
I love the looks and style of these games, (DS and such) but I don't want to die in every new environment and repeat the same fights. I know I'll get a lot of hate for this but I just want an easy mode, a mode where I can play the game not stressed out. I want to play this game but I won't because I know it'll be the same death over and over and over and over again.

I like how half the comments this week were just Andy complaining about Mike kicking his ass in Hitman multiplayer. As someone who often ends up playing like Mike it gives me hope for winning if I ever get the chance to play it.

Ninjas are like mercenaries or spies for hire. They did not really follow the same code of conduct/rules of engagement that samurai did. I.e. I haven't come across an instance of a ninja dueling anyone.
Samurai were all about honor and dueling and codes and rules and having a lord.
Ronin all that training and samurai mindset but lordless

around Christmas I realized I've got well over 500 games across Steam, GOG and etc... and that I'd played only a dismal amount of them... I only have enough time on my hands to truly get into maybe 5 games per year, so I am reticent to even start some of them.
Turned it into a New Years Resolution: at least one game per day. Just to separate the chaff from the wheat... and upload it to youtube for accountability. Because that's what we do now in society, apparently.
In defense of Andy using his own analogy, there are martial arts in existence that are legitimately used by special forces, military, CIA, FBI, & etc. that will never really be seen in any sort of competition because they're based around strategies and techniques in fighting to finish quickly and efficiently, i.e. obliterate a bone or deliver a death blow asap, or avoid fighting altogether.
The situation that two evenly sized individuals will be put in a ring with equal access to (no) weapons and any rules at all regarding how engagement occurs simply doesn't occur in the real life scenarios these arts are built around encountering.
So while Mike's style is clearly better in this ghost mode, it's also clearly not a style that'd be better in any version of Hitman, and like fighting styles dominating UFC, it relies on exploiting what people can't do as much as it relies on what the practitioner can do.
I would pay quite a lot of money for that all clear controller!

Mike and Andy playing Hitman 2 Ghost mode - it's a bit like Indiana Jones; Bad guy (Andy) jumps in with swords, whirling them like a pro, Indy (Mike) pulls gun out and shoots bad guy dead. Fair, probably not, winning, yes.

I was actually looking around my room checking to make sure there wasn't a leak or something dripping. The clicking sound in the underlying music is pretty distracting, but I'll definitely have to check out Kingdom because all those things Jane mentioned I'm really into.

Probably late to the party with this, but if anybody is in to the whole South-East-Asian-flavoured fantasy scene vis à vis Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and Kingdom, and if you don't mind reading books, check out the Lotus War series by Jay Kristoff. Excellent stuff, and I'm not just saying that because Mr Kristoff lives a few streets away from me.
Funny you guys mentioned Deep Blue, since if I recall correctly, it did win against Garry Kasparov exactly like that in at least one game out of six. Making a seemingly random move, whilst completely ignoring the "normal" game style and Kasparov's traps and just going for the kill, thus throwing the human player off and ultimately forcing him to surrender.

What i would like is a cross between Sekiro (jumping, griping and all that) and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (kicking enemies of cliffs and into spikes and all that), that would be a perfect game for me.
Also that invisible controler is great, i could play games pretending i'm working ... "no i'm not playing, how could i with out a controler in my hands ... and no my hand were always looking like that" :P
