I am 51 years old and this was my favorite show when I was a kid, every Saturday morning I remember waiting for the land of the lost to come on.
same! I just watched a clip and it talked about compassion and anger. I love that this is what I was being taught and didn't even realize it!
I have some fond memories of Land Of The Lost from very early in my childhood. It’s most interesting how these small sci-fi classics might sometimes potentially outshine even the big sci-fi franchises.
I am fifty-five . I was a wide eyed five year old watching this ! So long ago now
@@pooddescrewch8718 Also 55 here and same. Scooby Doo, Superfriends, Pink Panther, Hong Kong Phooey, and Sigmund & the Sea Monsters were my other favorites.
This show was so sophisticated and ahead of it's time.
I am 62 now but still remember this being one of the most thought provoking shows of my childhood. It fueled my imagination! I have watched it several times in the past few years, thanks to TH-cam . This is one show that impacted my life.
I'm 53 now I watched this every Saturday morning.
Between the costumes and the noises, this scared the ever-living $h!t out of me as a kid! 🤣
Me too, I had to leave the room when they came on 🙄🤣
lol this was my show
Those things were diaper shatting scary as a kid! Trying to go to sleep with my older brother on the bottom bunk making sleestack hiss noises in the total darkness!
@@jainey q1¹😅p😊😊
Yup !
powerful 4 minutes there. I forgot I was watching youtube. I was transfixed into another time.
The Sleestack were pure horror as a kid and the hissing sounds they made too was scary.
And those soulless eyes!!!!!!
@@Action_Figure_King Yes! Ye they were.
The most loved adventure ever remains very well even today. One of the very best episodes The Stranger written by Walter Koenig a-ka Mr. Chekov and Walker Edmiston as Enik. Very lovable show. The best of the 1970s.👍
OMG!! Born in 1966. I LOVED THIS SHOW!!! I think It was on Saturday mornings. I was living in Brookings Ore or Stanton, CA. Good times!!!!
If I remember correctly. Enik discovers later on that the sleestak in the world are his descendants not his ancestors.
You are correct sir !
Marshall,will and holly....on a routine expraidition.... :) 60 years old and i still know this song,haha!
According to an interview with Walker Edmiston, the reason why Enik wears that garment is because the suit was built too tight for him to wear to move around in, as he attempted to move, the suit began splitting, and as it split, those portions of the suit would be cut away so he could move more freely. The garment was to hide where the suit had been split and cut.
I was wondering who sewed the garment with their 3 toed hands.
I'm a 90s baby born to parents who grew up in the 70s. Grew up on shows like this, on vhs. This was my favorite episode of Land of the Lost. Total nostalgia.
Enik was right, by the way. Those Sleestak were from his species future, not their past. We should heed the same warning.
The big plot twist!
Yes. It's a warning and we need to stop voting for democrats.
They planet-o-the-apes’s it… as was the fashion of in those times.
When I was kid watching this show, it was like a slightly scary acid trip.
Enik was such a trickster but I respect his grind
I still remember the sad part where Enik realized that they were not his ancestors. Unless I'm misremembering that part. I did watch this at some point in the early 80s. 82-83 maybe. I don't think I got to see all of the episodes, but I sure as hell remember this one.
He found out that he was in his future when the Marshals took him to the lost city and he saw that his home had been ruined and his people have turned dum and savage. Their was another episode where Holly went into a pylon and it took her to the lost city when it was new for just a minute then it brought her back.
RIP Marty. You will be missed.
When I was 8 years old this was my favorite show. I never missed an episode. To this very day I remember them vividly. Puts a smile on my face 😊
I got so anxious watching this as a kid lol . loved it and still do at 50
Same here👍watching this makes like it was yesterday. Except I'm watching it on my phone😄😄what would people think back in days when this came out that you told them I'll watch it on my phone😄
I'm 59 and I watched this every Saturday morning.
Did you have a favourite character?
I had a mad crush on Holly@@SidMartyKrofftPictures
Land of the Lost is the most intelligent children's show ever made. Back in those days children were taught to be survivors not victims.
So grateful for this. Love this show!!
Yes u grew up watching this
Rest in Peace 🙏 🪦 Actor Ron Harper
I could never get a bead on Enik as a kid.
He was helpful, in that he saved this family several times.
But he was never too helpful, and always left me unsure.
What you think Will's fear is, I always wanted to know what he saw in the mist.
My guest is the Boogeyman
In the 3rd season, Enik really was a dick to the Marshall's.
Same here.
Same here
That was the best part of his characterization. A reptile man from the future shouldn't become a pet or faithful Indian companion. Enik and the Marshalls had conflicting goals, and they were too far apart to be easy with each other.
Astonishing. This was a show made for kids circa sometime mid ‘70’s. I used to watch after school. Prevented a lot of suicides.
This was a brilliant story . I never forgot it .
Never forget Enik! 👽
Never trust a guy in a tunic
Lol
Love this show its a classic ☻
My favorite show til this day.
Was glued to tv as a kid watching this
Enik... An anagram for the Sumerian God "Enki" whom was known to be one of the Anunnaki (those who came from the heavens/i.e. space) that created humanity... Enki (like a lot of ancient Gods) was closely associated with the serpent. Enki's name (in Sumerian) I believe translates to "Shining Serpent". The serpent was highly revered by a lot of ancient cultures around the world (some places like Ireland, where serpents didn't even exist, so there for the native population should have never known about them). They say that the 'Gods' themselves would take on the appearance of a serpent. Interesting how the writers of the show were reflecting on this through this TV show... One reason why I find it so interesting.
Actually it was a tribute to Gene Roddenberry by Walter Koenig, who rote the episode. Enik was supposed to be Eneg, Gene spelt backwards, but they changed it to Enik at the last moment.
@@danschneider7531 Sounds like a cover story, but who knows...? Neither me nor you were the writers of this show, so I think it's safe to assume we don't know what exactly was going through their minds when writing this character, but I'm not saying you're wrong... it could be an eerie coincidence, but seeing how we're dealing with time traveling 4th dimensional reptilians, and an ancient God that was associated with the serpent and being the creator of humanity ((like many other ancient Gods of our past)) I tend to think there was something else going on here, but I don't know... it's weird.
There are Sumerian statuettes of the Annunaki that look just like the sleestak. And myths about Atlantis feed our imagination about mini pyramids filled with crystals that littered the landscape.
Yay!!! More Krofft shows
One of the best shows ever, at least Season 1, episodes written by legit sci-fi authors like Ben Bova and Larry Niven. They slipped highbrow sci-fi concepts past the producers, totally blew the minds of kids like me. Precipitous decline in Season 2, then Season 3 was utter crap. Because producers have to ruin everything instead of trusting the writers.
Thanks for the memories Marty (and Sid too of course) and Godspeed!
Land of the lost was wonderful. I was furious when I saw the movie. They made it a freakin comedy. LOTL was dark and perfect
One of my favorite episodes and character!
"Those monsters!"
Enik: gee you really know how to hurt a guy
Cuando era niño, esta serie me parecía llena de misterio y sorpresas, ahora que soy adulto, también 😂
donde la transmitían ? en que canal en tu pais
The best use of a synthesizer other than Flock of Seagulls.
I was a kid watching this at 4 yrs old. Now im 47 yrs old . I didn't even go to school yet . Lol . Id just drink chocolate milk sit in front of the tv. It was amazing. It was magic. That was tv. Our times were golden. before technology ruined it.
Great acting 👏
This deserves several awards 😆 🦖🦎🐊
Love this show 😎
AMAZING!
I don't know how I watched this as a kid.I can't bare to listen to this girl for even a minute
Someone should do a haunted house with a Land of the Lost -- Sleestaks in the cave theme.
I still wish we could have seen what the creature in the Sleestack pit looked like.
This actually scares me
I watched this on a black and white 14 inch TV, didn't notice how plastic the plants were heheheh. As a child I only understood people running away from dinosaurs and bad lizard men.
man that sleestack hiss used to scare me as a kid.
My love for crystals came from this show
💛💙💜💚🧡❤️️
This was soul crushingly frighting as kid
I always wished they had done a proper first episode with showing them living a normal life and then they go thru the rip in time. as it is it just starts with them being there and the intro is only what let us know what happened.
And to think I used to get up early on Saturday morning to watch this.... The Valley of the dinosaurs came on after this I liked it much better...
Like at the crack of dawn it was on early too early in the morning for those damn sleestacks lol
I loved both shows.
The creators called the 2009 movie an insult and i don't blame them
I liked the character of Enik.
Haha! Fifth dimensional reality, Ascension, underground, tunnels, lizards, lizard king, tetrahedron, time travel, necessity for compassion for ascension and survival, this clip has it all!
Land of the Lost complete series now on tubi...
Sleestacks!!!
🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸
I remember this show I use watch it. 😊
Good acting!
more like bad acting.
I was only nine years old when this came out. Those dam sleestacks gave me nightmares 🥴
The bad sound made it more erie.
I 🥺was remember very well All this scene 😢be aré Great😞🆗💯%💯🙂 perfect 👍👍
...with a bowl of Crunch Berries!😁
Enic always gotta show up and put everyone in a bad mood!
wwheeeeeooo wheeeoo whheeeeeee
I fan from land of the lost 💗💗💗and, speak spanish!!!!
That Enid is so loyal to his species! Can’t will understand that?!
I bet Enok dropped a load in his tunic when he realized the Sleestack are really his descendants and that his
civilization fell in ruins. I think the Land of the Lost became what it is because of some major accident with
a time experiment gone wrong engineered by some of the Altrusians. Once they were trapped in this place
they created the Pylons to try and stabilize the place and keep what remained from total destruction.
I was the same age as Holly (12). I watched the show just because of her.
Season 1; Episode 6 - Original air date: October 12, 1974
lol the noises they make
The seamonster scared me from Saturday mornings
Más capitulos de está serie en Español o alguien que me diga dónde está disponible porfa
The things that terrifies the man - is a bath, a haircut and some salad
I heard the stranger is when you sit on your hand until it falls asleep
Think they were called sleestackers, I was 13 back then and watched once in a while
I've seen a few episodes of this show not too long ago, from what I saw I like the sleestack a lot better. That Enik guy seemed like a Mr. Know it all but didn't really know anything.
Scary as a kid
three angry stalks of asparagus hissing like cats. 🤪
I loved this show, knew it was real, and then one day the dad left and their uncle dropped in, HEY, WAIT A MINUTE?
Pretty heavy for an after school program. Wheres Dopey? Seems like yesterday - almost 50 yrs ago. Hmm.
Did they ever make it home??
NO
3:37 the thing that terrifies ME most is SpongeBob.
I haven’t seen a sleestac since the land of the lost😂😂😂😂
wow. deep. this is a pink floyd song waiting to happen
Yeah, you’re gonna go down to the end by the studio doors in the bathroom
Theres a movie of this show made in 2009 with will farrel
same here in Brazil
💛💙💜💚🧡❤️️
👍
Marshall and Will were seeing naked Richard Simmons in the mist.
Think this was written by Walter Koenig of Trek fame.
Yes, and he named Eneg after Roddenberry (Gene spelled backwards..)
@@HailAnts I think the first run of the DVD set had a commentary track with Walter. Very cool stuff. I loved that show and yes the creatures freaked me out as a kid. Funny I just saw an A-Team episode where Hannibal is wearing a Sleestak costume! Funny indeed.
This sleestack reminds me of the Dali Lama for some reason.
too many cuts. maybe the whole episode wouldnt fit ?
2:46 he does not know da way
Now that's acting🤣
I think ol' Will needs to switch to decaf.
What you think Will's fear is?
I want to say the Boogeyman

Holdup, this is where those lizard people originated from in the Will Ferrell movie?!
