I do something similar by using a pencil to make a dent in the shape of a cross, like you would see on a hot cross bun , so just two long plugs of clay , resulting in marbling inside and out. This is superb though, I shall give it a go, thank you Michael and of course the wonderful John Britt

That is really cool, looks way better than the marbling of wedging two different colour clays

The two clays would most likely have different firing temps....so how does that work?
I use different coloured clay with the same firing range. Doesn't seem to be a problem. Lots of potters do this. Neriage in Japan.😀
