I smiled when the Kobe 8 came up. Not only was that the shoe to get me back into basketball after over a decade, it was when I first found Nightwing's reviews. The shoes came out December 2012 and I've been hooping consistently since January 2013.

Hell yea! Kobe 6 is definitely my all time favorite go to shoe. Bought 4 pairs back in the day and cant wait for the protro. Only negative i have say is that the traction burns out very quickly. But until then you are golden
First pair of Kobe signature shoes i bought were the KB8 Crazy 8s by Adidas and those were so comfortable and durable. still have them to this day. RIP Mamba.

If I remember correctly I think Kobe #3 released around one of the Spider-Man movie Kobe wanted his shoe to fit 1 of 1 like Spider-Man Suit. Also the commercial wear genius the foot statue with Terry Crew's. I always wanted them as well
Ive had 6s before and yes you do need some time to break them in. I love kobe 8s, they are just something else man. Traction is crazy good, lightweight, cushion is awesome. Just love everything about it.
Kobe 4 for me. Excellent cushion, great lockdown, great traction. Surprisingly, my number two is the Kobe 11. I didn’t have any issues with the traction and holy fuck is that a supportive shoe.
The 4’s are my Fav, best all round sneaker! Great video 👍
Really sad all the Kobe shoes went up crazy in price...was savin up for a pair of protro 1s. Wanted to get them as my first Kobe shoe because he is the reason I play basketball...it will still be worth the $300 minimum that they are now. They will be worth whatever they cost because Kobe was an absolute legend, and we will all miss him forever. #MambaOut

Suuuper curious/excited for the Protro 4's. It's gonna shuffle my top 5 around for sure.
The Kobe 1 will always be my favorite for looks and performance, I've had 2 pairs of the originals and they were best I've ever played in. I now have the Protro but haven't played in them yet but the Kobe 1 will always be my favorite sneaker to play in.
Kobe 11 and 6 are the only signature Kobe’s I’ve owned. I think this list severely underrates the 11 elite. The Kobe 11 elite is the best basketball shoe I have ever owned imo and I have a translucent outsole too lol.
The 6 is the other pair I owned and those were very good shoes but the inside wore down on me and that heel cup started coming through the shoe. I think the 11 elite is just better for durability and cushion.
Personally I don’t think there is a better shoe ever made than the Kobe 11 for my feet but it depends on what you like.
I’ve tried all the Kobe since the Kobe 5, all the way to the AD Mid. Gotta say, you’re right! THE KOBE LINE IS THE MOST CONSISTENT.

The NXT 360s are incredible...but I wish they used Zoom air instead of React for the cushion. Traction and durability have not been an issue in the year that I've had them.
omg my father got me a Kobe 6 when I was in high school and I love everything about it. The first time I played in those i slipped as hell but it performed so nice that I never found anything that can beat it (maybe harden 1 is close )I like Kobe so much and I like Kobe shoes so much. Nike Kobe 4 Proto Snake and the Adidas Kobe 1 are my favorite Kobe Shoes.
I had a pair of both of these when I played Mens League Ball and they were comfortable and looked great.
What more can a guy ask for in a shoe .
I hated playing in the 2s so bad I gave them away to a friend. No ventilation and gave me rash. I bought my younger bro one and he is still playing ball in them after all these years. He loves it but he is a high jumper while I am not. Haha shows how shoes are different for different people even brothers.
It’s his go to shoe even as a dad with 2 kids haha...I was trying to buy him a new pair as a gift but he refuse to get rid of his pair of 2s haha
I had the Kobe 10 EM’s and I actually liked them quite a bit. Traction was good and they were super comfy even though they were a half size small at the time
I’ve hopped in the Venomenom 9’s and the Protro 1’s. I use the Venomenom 9’s more because I wear my Protro’s casually. Love your channel and your laid back approach. You’re super knowledgeable not just about the history of the shoes but the design, fabric, ect. Keep up the good work!

7 and 8 are my favorites. Those are the Kobes I would wear even off the court.
My best bball shoe was my Kobe AD Exodus, the grip was tight, the uppers were damn supportive, and shit it felt like it was a part of my feet.

My Favorites Was The Kobe 9 Elite High And They Were The Best Basketball Shoe To Hoop In back In 14-15 And Had The Best Damn Traction Ever. The Engineering Mesh Version had It Too. And The Low Elite And High Elite. So That's My Best Kobe Sneaker.
I only ever hooped in one pair of kobes and they were a pair of the suede year of the snake 8s in freshman year of highschool and they were the best hoop shoe i ever had and hooped in (In my area there is no indoor gym unless its at a school so when i bought casual shoes i also hooped in them so what i wore majority of the time is retro nikes or trainers)

I agree with everything you said about the Kobe line. All the later models are shit basically with the exception of the 9's. The best Kobe's were the 5 through 1. The other thing that's weird is that the Kobe's went from a heavy duty boot like sneaker to slippers!! My favorite Kobe's are the 1's hands down!
So sad they are not doing protro for the kobe 2s. I played in one of the 3 versions when they came out, the upper was stiff but once broken in it was actually more flexible than the kobe 1s. The one I had retroed in the fade to black pack and prelude pack was the Ultimate with 1 velcro. The Strength had 2 velcros and the Lite had none.
Back in the days all my sneakers were done too quickly as I mostly played outdoors. It was the only option in China as gyms are rarely open to public. When they are open it would be too hot in the summer with no AC. We used to hoop on asphalt and during summer it would get so hot that I felt the asphalt was softening my landings... Or maybe I was just too dehydrated and hallucinated.
My personal favorite in the line is the 8s, especially the superhero green ones. The regular lunar ones like the christmas are good but at that time lunar bottoms out kinda quick, and I was also a lot heavier... Not an ideal combination. The scaled ones were bad, like I cannot even look at them bad. To me they were the worst-looking kobes followed by the kobe 6&11 3d, for similar reasons.
The ad mid would probably be the worse for me performance-wise, out of all pairs I have tried on. I did not get them as they fitted my narrow feet really poorly being slightly short and wide. But my friend found them to fit very well. And the cushion set up also happen to be great for her. People have differently shaped feet and different shoes fit different people. My two best friends have complete opposite feet types with me and we tend to like complete different shoes. We are still friends and we would suggest shoes to each other all the time.

Man I just started hooping again after 4 or so years. I love your channel. First pair I bought coming back was the PG2 in the mamba mentality colorway. Love those. My all time favorite shoes I’ve ever played in were the Kobe 1 and Kobe 2. It’s a shame they’re not protroing the 2’s they’re beasts. I’m in the process of trying to pick up the Kobe 1 protros.

Personally ( i haven’t hooped in Kobe 6 so cant speak on it ) the Kobe 8 is my favorite. I have 8-11 and I’d go 8-11-9-10. In that order. I think 8 has best traction and feel while being stupid light. 11 i think is underrated. Just a beauty and new era version. 9 has nasty traction can’t lie but i hate the cushion so much.

Ive had both the kobe 11s (elite and em) and the ad nxts, but overall I enjoyed playing the 11 ems much more. My feet felt great and it had AMAZING traction and support. I wish I bought more of the EM's while they were still avalible!
Hope you get a chance to play in the 3 soon. Pretty sure it'll jump your list to around the Kobe V/IV spots. Very underrated. The 2 felt similiar to the 1 but were more rigid imo despite the use of the Free system. Still an awesome shoe

I really hope they make the 6 protro available to everyone that wants it. The people who buy them up and then resell them really ruin it for everyone else who actually want to play in them.

Ah the 6, my favorite hoop shoe of all time! Loved that thing, and had some of my best days in those.
84 pairs of the Kobe VI since they hit. I’ve never played in anything else since. Best shoe ever made for my foot. Have you found anything that you can put on par with them in a low top? I’m still buying them used whenever I find them on EBay at a fair price.

I played in the 2’s and 3’s and I think the 3’s are waaaaay better than the 2’s performance wise. More comfortable and lighter weight.

kyrie line been my go to, but the kobe 9's are my favourite all time. i got rid of all my kyries and been growing my mamba collection, just picked up the 4 protro's (undftd black mamba colorway) and the traction sucks :/ on dusty courts any way
My first Kobe shoes were the ZK6 Christmas ones and I loved them so much.
I have the Kobe 11 right now. but i I.D.'d them so i was able to get a solid rubber out sole with full length zoom. Traction is great!! i also had the original Kobe 1's. They were crap! no arch support, out sole got hard quick and the leather tore up pretty quick. So if the Protro's are anything like the originals, no thank you.

Got a NIke ID Kobe 11 with full length Zoom. The flyknit has started to tear in places though...so I ended up putting the FL Zoom drop in into my Kobe 8. That is a killer combo.

I’ve only played in 1 Kobe . The Kobe 11 alts . I got them at the Nike outlet. They had a gray shroud that I cut off the show the beautiful multicolor upper with a all black tongue and logo. They are one of my favorite looking Kobe’s . But I played in them 1 day for 3 hours and they hurt my toes. I do love them casually though.

The Kobe 9s traction is the greatest traction I've ever had on any basketball shoe I've played in. Just beats out the 8 for me. I still think the 8 was the best looking Kobe though.
