That looks pretty simple. For once, I don't have to consider doing that though. My 2014 S was a dealer demo with all the bells and whistles. It came with this compartment installed. The space inside is not huge, but it is very useful. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't have one. Happy New Year!

I lucked out and have a model that already has this, but great video on installing one. If I get myself into a newer Mini, I'll have to come back to this video, because I'll definitely want that compartment again, it's so useful! Mini Bros killin it once again.

The price of the cover plate being almost the same as the compartment is terrible. Do you think you could modify the original one to work?

Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, I don’t think modifying it to fit will be easy, since the cover does get screwed into place and the original one doesn’t have the holes to screw into.
