Steps for coding are as follows:
1. Uninstall old cluster
2. Install new cluster
3. Open up ESYS paired with new psdzdata
4. Select Expert
5. Select Coding mode
6. Connect gateway connection in ESYS
7. Select the most recent F56 file
8. Read FA
9. Save FA
10. Edit FA
11. Change Zeitkriterium= numbers to 0320
12. Edit SALAPA-Element
13. Add 6WB in appropriate alpha-numeric order to existing codes
14. Right-Click on FA at top of tree and click Calculate FP
15. Hit Save Icon
16. Hit Back Icon
17. Anser "Yes" to popup window asing to reload the file in module Coding
18. Right-Click FA and click Activate
19. Read ECU
20. Find "KOMBI" in ECU tree, left-click on it
21. Hit Detect CAF for SWE button
22. Click the CAFD under the ISTEP that matches the iSTEP of your vehicle
23. Under ECU tree left-click on KOMBI
24. Click CODE button, wait for completion and success message
25. Close ESYS
Perform FDL coding on the following:
1. KOMBI_CIC: set to kombi high
2. EXTERNER_MOST: set to aktiv
Since purchasing my F56 Mini Cooper JCW I have never liked the factory cluster. What sucks about that is it's always something that you look at every time you drive your Mini Cooper.
What I realized when shopping around was that it was hard to find a Pre-Lci Mini Cooper F56 with a digital cluster. So what I ended up doing was getting a Mini Cooper JCW without the digital cluster in hopes that later on down the line I could get a digital cluster upgrade from Mini directly.
Long story short, I called up my local Mini dealership in Orlando Florida, and the digital cluster upgrade was not something that they offered. Well, after a bunch of research online, I found out that I could buy the digital cluster myself and install it.
The only challenge then became the coding of the digital cluster and the programing. After doing tons of Googling and speaking with several people, I figured out how to code and program the new Mini Cooper F56 digital cluster.
For those of you who aren't familiar with this cluster, it's the same cluster that comes factory in the Mini Cooper GP3. I hope I made the coding and programing easiest enough to understand and do.

Been following you for a while now. Done everything except the lowering. Installed digital dash but having a terrible time coding. 2017 Cooper s f56. Using laptop on windows 11, downloaded your program links and bam, errors. I’ve done all my upgrades myself with help from you and you tube but this coding has got me. Any advice?
Is it necessary to have MOST port on the HeadUnit in order to implement this upgrade to 6WB cluster?. My MINI F60 does not also have the HUD. Can MINI without the MOST port on their headunit & absent HUD also upgrade?. Thanks.

Hey, I am as you mention ‘across the pond’ and have a 2015 Mini JCW. Mine has the heads up display so would it be a plug and play install for me or would I still need to code it? Any help would be much a appreciated! Thanks Dan

Hey Michael. I have a question for you which I hope you'll be able to answer. Is it possible to retrofit digital cluster and radio upgrade (bluetooth, navigation etc) in Mini One 2011 R56? Thats mine MINI and I'd like to upgrade it's non existant infotainment system and change from analog rpm counter to digital with digital information? If that's possible, what shoud I be aware of and if it's not possible, till what production date can you upgrade the infotainment system? Thank you :)
I have a 2021 F56 Cooper S. It does not have HUD or navigation. Can I still do this upgrade?
My 2020 mini countryman se, came with HUD and top head unit with big screen, but analog cluster.
To retrofit is just coding in this case? After swapp the cluster off course.

I have a 2020 F54 Mini Clubman JCW without the heads up display, but I did upgrade my radio which has the fiber cable port will this still work?
When you copy the psdz folder across to the data folder and then open up e-sys it throws an error up saying the contents of the current psdzdata folder is invalid or empty 🤷♂️

the thing I didn't like when I had a 2019 was not only the guages but how nearly silent it was even as the Cooper S model. no crackle, no rumble and it apparently had one of those exhaust filters that always go wrong. I got a 2015 and its the same body just way better car, more responsive, sounds better but still has the ugly guages. this video might be the solution.

I downloaded the files but one of the files within the psdzdata folder showed errors and wouldn't unzip. Is this password protected? Can't proceed?

Just a brief note. There may be a compatibility problem between E-sys and psdzdata versions vs ECU! The versions in this video work flawlessly.

Bro you make working on a mini so easy… my question is can I use this software to make my mini less rich and have the check engine light off because of the downpipe ?? It’s the only light I have on.
That's a good question. You would be able to turn off the light using this tool if you find what code it is. 😅

Basically F54 F55 F56 F60 all use the same cluster, no matter is it a JCW or not

They have a digital dash for the R55, but it's not from Mini and it's not the one installed in this video.
What happens with mileage? Does it update from the existing or does it reset to 0?
I believe the mileage is stored in a variety of places so will pick up the cars mileage. However, if you fit a used digital cluster there's the risk of getting a tamper warning. So used ones should be 'virginised'.
