The build on this one always reminded me of Flood. Not in the riff or specific notes, but in the fact that half the song or more is building tension. 🤘🌀
I don't listen to this one as much as the others on the album, even compared to other songs in their repertoire. But when i do, i always feel like I'm hearing it for the first time.
That is a great way of putting it. I felt the same
My favorite thing about this song is how it starts mellow, soft... and then at some point you realize you're slamming hard, but don't even remember how you got from that haunting mellow beginning to that hard guitar riff... they made a completely seamless transition and it always shocks me when I realize where we are even though throughout the listen it's just the most natural progression ever. Just amazing songwriting.
Thank you for the request SupervisedChaos!! Great reaction!!
Miss the score over the the rating …8.9 to 9.1 area is where I’d guess DH would score it
The pleasure is mine... Now he can listen to the album
DH: BRING THAT BACK!
TOOL: Hold my beer…
Now youve heard all the feature tracks on the album you can go and listen to the whole thing and i hope you do. Love that shirt man
This is a unusual tool song as Danny is playing guitar at the beginning. I don’t rate this song t first but has grown on me and now one of my favourite of the album
I'm glad this song come up! Btw, plug in your bass, don't be shy 😊
I need to get a combo amp, I can't plug in my bass and my mic at the same time. I thought about getting a multi-input interface board, but my mic is a USB mic, and unfortunately there's no hubs with a USB input...which means a new mic.
@@THEDavidHeretic to try and decode your problem, after some thought, it sounds like you have a USB microphone and a single analogue input USB audio interface that you use for your bass. You can't get them both working at the same time in Windows.. despite presumably having more than 1 USB port. Have you tried using the free ASIO4ALL driver and creating an aggregate device so both USB devices work via that? This is how it's commonly done on Windows
@@Wagoo I'll have to look into that, thanks you for the heads up.
@@THEDavidHeretic Have you looked into a Spark amp? They're cheap and might do what you're looking for?
Yes my fav off this album! Just really love the atmosphere. Also man do i wish i had your theory knowledge 🥲
Im surprised you enjoyed this as it's more subdued than most of tools songs. I love laying down and blasting this 😂. Plus very relatable lyrics
Yes more Tool!!!
Spiral out, keep going 🌀 🌀 🌀...
The Golden God approves of the Tool reaction
DH, you're really good at this. Thanks for doing what you do!
FEELIN' YOU Fearless!!!
It's TOOL time. Count Dracula would be proud of you David. LOL. ✌️
I attended a covers gig with Tool, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, 'Sabbath, Static X, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, RATM and Monkeywrench by Foos.
I forgot that they do get kicking in it after awhile 😂🤘🖖✌️🎸🥁🎸🎤
By far my favorite track off of Fear Inoculum, This kicks ass
“ I like that finishing how we started” literally every TOOL song hahaha 😂
David reacting to tool, this is the best thing to happen for a good weekend. By the way, have you ever thought about hooking your bass to the computer so we can hear you play as you figure out the songs?
With my current equipment it's going to be impossible. The easiest solution would be to get a combo amp, which I've been thinking about doing for a long time. I just need to find a good one that is reasonably priced.
Hello TOOL ARMY✌️ Appreciate the reaction Dave.
Great
Tool reaction!! I’m here in seconds
please check eden from tesseract!! most tool fans loves tesseract!! trust me you will love them!! tesseract is so atmospheric.. and groovy !! and we love groove!! and they have some of the best outros tracks like of mind, utopia, tourniquet so good man!!
Supervised Chaos rules, ty
Just trying to finish off the album so he can go listen to it
🤘🏻🌀
Great song🤘🤘🤘🤘
It's strange that with this song in particular Tool fans either love it or absolutely hate it. I love it. The most common complaint is either the slow first half or the claim this is the only song that doesn't fit in the album as a whole.
You should listen to losing skin by seaweed.
25:01 going to nitpick math here. 3 isn’t the common denominator here. It’s the common numerator!
Most bands would try to pull off a song like this and it would turn out boring to me..... tool does it, and it strikes an emotional chord that very few bands can replicate.
The same with repetition. With most bands I’m skipping pretty quickly. With Tool, I’m going “Hell yeah!”
@johnnyb6067 pretty much....... between Maynard and the unique patterns they use, or normally does it for me........ so many vocalists came in trying to replicate Maynard when tool exploded, and all they ever did was give us is wish Maynard...... or would it be temu Maynard in 2024?🤣
let me grab some magic shrooms, brb lol
At 20:54 when he does the devil horns for the D chord 😈😈🤘🤘
Wellllllll....it wasn't meant to be horns. I was fingering the bas notes, that was the low D I was imagining fingering on the low B string.
A 30 minute Tool reaction?
This is blazing fast...
Go for joe satriani made of tears live...plz
Ngl, this was my least favorite on this album. It's still good, just not great.
I agree I just wanted him to go listen to the album all the feature tracks have been covered now so...
