All toads are frogs, it seems. "Toad is a common name for certain frogs, especially of the family Bufonidae, that are characterized by dry, leathery skin, short legs, and large bumps covering the parotoid glands." Wikipedia
On CRT monitors you couldn't see the lines between pixels. It was a projection, which blurs lines between pixels. Since it was all blurry, by today's standards it all worked and appeared crisp. Nevermind that what was transmitted was not pixels. You didn't actually see lines at all on 480i content until we had 720p+ displays, which exposed the mechanics of TV and game content for all to see. The format of the past was matched to the display of the past. It looked lifelike with no lines to our eyes at the time. Emulators have worked hard to emulate that effect and have never really succeeded. Imagine a filter where Mario 3 was pixel art, but to us it seemed like non-pixel art. That's what we saw, due to the blur, yet throwing a quincunx blur on those games today just makes them a blurry mess with no definition. The CRT image was surprisingly sharp somehow just due to the physical mechanics.
i think it would be impossible for a layperson to identify the difference between "frogs" and "toads" for although we think of toads as any frog-like creature what's wide and lumpy skinned yet plenty of "toads" are actually "frogs". See the Clint's Reptiles episode on the "Fire-Bellied Toad".
Damn, you guys have monstrous endurance. Have some good rest, my guys
The battle of the British accents was hilarious. Isla going full Michael Caine and Don crying from laughter.

Seeing Don start with hating bloopers, then turning around to appreciate them made my hour.
Speedrunning a character arc
Oh my god they made a space station 14, and I’m surprised they’ve never heard of 13.
This stream is worth it just for the bloodworth “impressions”. Too fucking funny
Whao, what the...?!!! There were clearly two Bloodworth's in the room, from the sound of it!
The Bloodworth impressions were hilarious.

Also feel like Battle Aces (rts) has potential, it reminds me of Mechabellum, but opened up a bit more. Excited to see where this sub-genre is headed
Every game show , Day9 progresses further to looking like Lex Luthor.
Fallen Aces looks Siiiiiiick!
1:16:05 i'm just excited for y'all to listen to The Beths (the game also looks very good)
Next year you should have a bet for how many games will show at least 1 massive army, like enough units to storm a castle (have to be human)

White text on black background is WAY easier on my eyes than the other way around.
Some cool games here.

That was fun to watch with the allies. And those two hosts were pretty great too
That stormgate game giving me shades of total annihilation / supreme commander
Thx

Only an hour into this show and I'm bored shitless.
After Xbox's amazing show, this show felt like a slog
I think this is PlayStation 2 game show😂
