As someone who grew up on George Strait i would say there are very few people who could pull off one of his songs. And this man right here is one of them.
This just brought me to tears for so many inexplicable reasons. I left an abusive marriage recently- it was 20 years. Now I’m with a guy who has been by my side while I completely transformed over this last year. Now people constantly tell me now how beautiful and happy I look. I owe much of that happiness to myself for making the necessary changes and conquering fear but I owe a huge chunk of it also to the guy I’ve fallen for. This song makes me cry thinking of the happiness I now feel so I think of it as if I’m singing it to myself but on the other hand there is a sadness within me that make me cry for my ex- not out of wanting to be with him but just out of compassion that he probably sees the same thing everyone else does and I have no doubt he feels some regret for not being able to make me happy- cause of his own internal struggle. I just feel so happy and so sad at the same time, if that makes sense. I hope he heals and finds happiness and I hope he knows that although I hate the stuff he did wrong, I’ll always appreciate the things he did right- not to mention that he gave me four amazing children. Also I love Teddy. He’s freaking amazing!

Mario Vallego Do not beat yourself up. What’s important is you recognize something is wrong. Work on YOU. The best way to do that is outside of a relationship. It’s hard to put effort into yourself under the stress of a relationship, especially if it’s unhealthy. You have a great heart or you wouldn’t care about how you’re affecting your girl. Take time to heal. Watch TH-cam videos on healing, exercise, hike, etc. Only after you learn to love yourself fully will you be able to love someone else in a healthy way. You got this!!!!
