Ive got a floor and probably stay with a floor for a while yet... most morning's i like to wake up use bathroom quick. Then Get water boiling and fill Nalgenes. If weather good take bag/pad out and put Nalgenes in bag while packing up to help push any condensation out while i pack camp up. Last camp was, great smokey mountains, so 100% humidity overnight with no wind..

Very True! I tend to berry the sides and noticed you don't..... you also had way less condensation....

I try to keep good airflow. When it’s calm like the nights we had I definitely don’t seal the base. If there’s wind that’s a different story, but ventilation isn’t a problem when there’s wind!

Hey Kane, appreciate your content. For winter trips I see you using the Durston as well as the MSR pyramid tent. What’s your preference? If you could only buy one (for winter trips) which would you choose? Thanks

I like to do this with my tarp as well. What do you like to use for the corners in the winter? Dead man anchors or snow stakes?

I carry 6 snow stakes. If I need to I'll use my shovel, skis, or sticks.

I noticed you did that in your last video and was wondering how you had such little condensation on the tent? Did you have a lot of ventilation? I’m really motivated to get my kit dialled this winter

That’s one of the big advantages of floorless tents, much less moisture build up because you can ventilate so well. Not all roses and sunshine though, freestanding can be quicker to set up in bad snow.

@@KaneDoesOutdoorssomething I used to consider was a tent like the hilleberg soulo but without the inner tent. Then I decided to stick with my tipi shelter. But I think it would be a great choice for your style of winter camping!
