Today's video is for beginners and will show you how to get kills in air RB in War Thunder! The method in this video is future-proof, so simple that even a newborn can do it, and it will ensure you a high number of kills! Just do as I say and don't worry about the physics behind everything since that's too boring! If you are a veteran or know these tactics then I please ask you to follow along with the video and write a comment about things that I might have missed or you want to advise people with!
In this example, I will use the first ever P-51 in the American tech tree with a comfortable battle rating of 3.7! 4 20mm hispanos are superb for ripping planes apart, making this tactic simple!
The first step is to ascend! I know it's boring, but as I mentioned in my How to Grind RP video, the longer the match, the bigger the rewards!
If your plane isn't very good at climbing and gets dunked on by other planes like 109s, side climb!
Yes, I get how dull that is, but do you want kills and progression or rapid paste rewardless waste of time matches? There's some food for thought there.
Take the time when climbing to set up the pull up and pull down controls, since we will be using them for everything! Mine is set to shift and left control. Also, make sure your WEP is turned on since we want to WEP all the time!
What you're aiming for here is to outclimb all enemy fighters! 1.5km above an enemy is a good number!
After then, the procedure is quite simple! Dive, attack, reset, and do it again!
It's easy to pull off and a breeze to complete! If you're not sure when to reset, it's usually when you're 400 to 350 meters away from the adversary! but that depends on your convergence and skill really.
The most essential thing here is to maintain your discipline! Without self-control! Everything else will crumble!
Now let's talk about convergence! What should the range be? It all depends on your engagement range, of course! Set your convergence to 400 meters if you regularly engage at that range! If you engage at 1Km or higher then do me a favor please! get outta here!
It's time to spice things up! If you're diving too fast to get a decent shot on your opponent and don't want to overshoot, here's a solution! Remember those pull up and pull down buttons we set up? It's now time to put them to use! As I already stated, the controls for me are shift and L-Control!
When you feel you're about to overshoot, pull up, roll to the side with A or D (Q and D for those AZERTY keyboard users out there), and dive down on your adversary again! It's as easy as that!
Now comes the most important question of all!
What can I do to improve my aim?
It's really simple! Shoot in short bursts and practice in a custom match! Set yourself up against bots of your own rating and get started! Discover your plane's capabilities! When does it start to rip? When should You turn? When should you rest? What is the best way to shoot and lead? What kinds of shells do you prefer? All of this takes place in a personalized fight that you command! Nobody can bother you there! When you feel ready, enter a match and put everything you've learned to the test! You'll gradually have a feel for the plane and a better instinct! With practice, everything will become second nature!

May be a little late for this but anyone who sees this, as your about to go into a turn throttle out and turn and as your turning gradually throttle back in. It’ll make you turn a lot quicker

I learnt this from flying MiG-17 a lot to not be too conservative with your ammo. I realized that you spend less ammo in 1 good burst of ~1 second than tapping the trigger and missing a bunch of shots on every pass I made on the enemy.
I learned THIS from playing roblox wings of glory (literally war thunder planes on roblox)

Fr dude a play harriers the first game 2 seconds ban out of ammo for 2 minutes then a a10 killed my I hate when they do the Brrt cause I know they just wasted 290 ammo in 3 seconds for a clip

One thing I’ve always told new players is to climb and pretend the enemy planes are a staircase. Start from the highest plane and work down to the one below that and so on.
i feel like this isnt the move? i get way more rp and kills if I try and battle on their level instead of trying that strat am i doing something wrong?

This is a solid, simple guide for beginners who cant grasp everything yet. I recommend watching other more detailed guides from defyn and others when you get the hang of it or you want to try different playstyles. I also recommend watching Renta’s WT fighter school videos.
Btw if u fail to kill the enemy after a boom and zoom. Don't climb instanly make sure u get some distance from ur enemy first. Around 1.5 to 2km.
why tho? just use the momentum to go back up, no?
@@SG-lu4uj if you go back up instanly then the distance between you and the enemy would still be close enough that you could get shot down this a mistake i see many american planes do when they boom and zoom my zero

1:18 hold throttle is good in RB as you don't want your engine to overheat while still remaining at 100% throttle
See the problem I have with these is when you side climb, you will encounter many enemies below you to boom and zoom, but there will always be others above you, which after you dive and kill that target makes you prey for those above. If you don't dive for those below and keep climbing making sure to be the highest plane, your team (American) will be dead by the time you are at that altitude, you lose both ways. Also, the fact that you will always have to carry to win a 1v5 or 1v7 with an average or noob player will not be happening any time soon. I don't really know what to do about this fact, which is mostly why I hate playing with the American team, but I only like the planes for the nation, so I'm stuck with this endless problem no matter how much I play.

That doesn't make much sense. You're saying you lose both ways because if you strictly climb to altitude, your team loses anyway. For that to be true. You're suggesting that with every match you're in, the team winning or losing is based solely on what you personally. The enemy team that you "lose to anyway" has people climbing too, and could have easily been the same team you were matched into. Both teams will always have people doing different things. You make it sound like the enemy team is an AI that does the same thing every time. The fact is, when you're the blue team. You're also the red team to the opposing players. I hate to break it to you but your choice to climb or dive doesn't make or break the outcome. Sure you can add to the teams success, but start being a little more strategic and logical I'm your approach.
U can just play on the ru or eu servers.
My issue is once engaged in a dogfight then another plane gets behind you I can never seem to shake them or outmaneuver them no matter what I do

Remember make sure to choose the shells that will help you if you can't get a kill easily like exploding shells shells that will ingnite on fire when they hit also check you're type of shells before even going in a match because you must know what type of shell is good+ some shells for ground targets are actually better when using them in air combat
The thing with side climbing, is either you climb off in the side and are extremely lucky to make it to good altitude above others but by the time you are at proper altitude ready to dive your teammates have taken everyone else.
Or if you side climb the enemy team takes your team and then everyone comes after you and you don't get a single kill before they get to you and repair costs comes to bite you after it
Not any bs in this, I am speaking from experience on every round. A better idea is to get a plane with extremely powerful guns, that way those who try to head on you end up in flames. And it takes less ammo to finally kill someone after nonstop shooting them. That's it, all you need to do

Hi Silent. Do you play kbm normally for just for that video? I've got a flight stick but find it very hard to use and kbm seems better for me. Should I stick to the flightstick and get better at it or switch over to kbm???
If you have planes that dont do well at high altitude, its best to stay below 3,700 m. Such planes include the P400, Cosair, etc.
My only question is how to look behind you (ps5) I can only seem to do it when I have another person in the plane.. is that the only way to look behind from a plane

my issue is the passing out and the sharp turns in jets. i dont get it. im always passing out even with my crew maxed out on both stats of g tolerance. i see players in jets turning so sharply without passing out and i dont get it. i use both w and s to turn and the mouse, i use one i use both its still the same lost control and passses out
I don’t know what the matchmaking is like yet, but in my first ever two games, I got a combined twelve kills and two assists with one death per round. Not super impressive, but the second round was a first strike achievement. I’m enjoying this game so far!

Every time i go into an air battle it puts me against nothing but bots like for example the enemy planes have gamer tags like Sam, Justin, Wilbert, John plus none of the enemy planes ever fight back like these are not real people so how do i fix this PLEASE respond as soon as you can

Hi sorry this is so late but how do I simply unlock planes/golden eagles not like a grind method or anything but I play arcade mode and I don’t know how to unlock better planes
pretty much keep playing. thats the only way to progress quickly without spending real money on golden eagles. what works for me is, keep a medium altitude, not too high not too low. dont dive unless you have backup below and above you, and try to survive as long as possible. the more planes you have, the longer you last in a battle, the more silver lions you get which gets you better planes. you pretty much are forced to grind
also, if you can, avoid putting yourself in situations where youre outnumbered. make sure you have backup and provide backup anytime you are close enough to do so without jeopardizing your own plane

Quick tip, don’t shoot in bursts if your planes guns tend to jam often, to fix that uppgrade the shooters skills in the weapon repair section
But my guns are so bad I can’t just boom and zoom I need to follow him for alittle and that’s what messes me up

Another thing I can recommend is if someone is chasing behind you or you getting attacked by AA you can press Q and E yes it is risky but your probably gonna die so take the risk

I came to the game with no knowledge of planes whatsoever and found the first year hard because I kept getting into dog fights with spitfires, but 109 and p39's. I got chewed all the time and was lucky to end the match with a kill or two.
I only recently took the time to practice properly and watch some tutorials and I shit you not I'm nearly always at the top of the leaderboard wirh an average of 7kills per game now.
I control my dogfights now and toy with my opponents but man sometimes I go up against flying aces with 20+kills per game and it demoralizes me hahaha

Britain
Usa or ussr. Ussr and japam has some of the best turners early on. But try to use all 3 different styles of combat and 3d fighting makes more sense
