At 450mm wingspan, isn't this slightly bigger? Afaik the TopRC Cub is 400mm. It might use the same electronics, though. Edit: I see the TopRC one is also 450mm, so that makes it more likely Hobbyzone just had this rebranded. They might claim it uses SAFE but it has the same 3 flight mode settings, and stunt button, and doesn't use Spektrum receiver, so probably a rebrand
Appears Hobbyzone/Horizon Hobby was losing customers as they were buying the UMX planes from Eachine and QIDI and a few other folks off Banggood and other sites that are cheaper than their products, SO they basically had the same aircraft made and is now selling it under their brand name instead of those other brand names...LOL
The "other" "UMX" planes, NOT talking about Horizon E-Flite UMX birds, are toy junk as far as I'm concerned, and I am sure most real modelers would agree with me!!
@@scotabot7826 You think HH. Eflite UMX birds are not Toys ? Bah ha ha ha any real modeler will tell you we build and fly TOYS. Some are Man sized and some kid size, some are wood, some are foam , some are plastic, or carbon fiber but they are still FLYING TOYS. And FYI be it QIDI, Eachine, Horizon, Hobby zone, Eflite etc they are all manufactured in China and most are slave labored for a few pennies and sold back to America for Hundred$ and also they all are of the same brand, they just use different ones depending on which company in the US sells them . And any of them can be made to fly better or worse depending on the operator and the tech installed. What makes those like HH, Eflite better is the electronics, BUT with a little help everyone regardless of brand can be made to fly Great IF they are on the hands of a "Real Modeler" And FYI any "real modeler" would already know all I just posted Ur Welcome
@@scotabot7826 Junk is an opinion. Ones mans junk is another mans treasure. To many ride the hype train of their own choices and opinions. But not everyone is the same nor likes the same things. Looks like the Volantex V761 series EPP toys have really started to bite into Horizon revenue. So much so that they have now had to resort to selling (more) re-brands of Chinese stuff. A pity that they chose the somewhat inferior TopRC Minis to flog off. They also had the manufacturer adjust the stabilization a little to retain some Rate Stabilization (AS3X) on the normally purely manual "Expert" mode. I've yet to find a "reviewer" who's had the brains to try whether the S-bus and/or DSM satellite sockets are still activated on these. 🙄
The rage RC planes are very durable, better than than Eflite foam (umx)by a long way. If you think the umx planes are better they are not. EPO is the future , 100 percent. It just needs more power, which is on the way. Eflite foam is really fragile and is designed to fail. As mentioned these planes fly well with a radio master tx I have a lot of these planes the p51 is much much better than all of the rest, the cub is one of the older models and has the older electronics, I believe.
Actually, the Eachine/Rage RC/Volantex (they’re the same) micro warbirds are made of EPP-huge difference from EPO. Those slope soaring combat planes (Zagis, for example) which are meant for contact combat) are made of EPP. They are virtually crash proof-you pick them up and you fly again. The Leading Edge Gliders slope soarers which are sport scale 48 in, 60 in, and 72 in wingspan warbirds, are made of this EPP foam. They can take moderate crashes very well-you just pick them up and fly again. EPO is not like that. You see what happens when one of those E-Flite EPO planes clashes.
I'm actually very Surprised that Horizon Hobby put their name on the box. As long as this kind of plane stays far away from the UMX line, I'll be happy! Hopefully Horizon, E-Flite never uses EPO foam for their UMX line. I'm sure they know EPO is too darn heavy for the UMX line. Thankfully they use EPS foam which is absolutely the best for all UMX birds!!!
EPS is certainly the best for model planes - for the bean-counters in the Horizon Organization! Every time a "Beginner" dumps 1 onto the ground, bumps it on getting it out of the box/vehicle, grips it too hard or the cat/dog brushes past it, the poor dumb punter will be contributing more of his hard-earned cash to the Horizon coffers. Flexible EPP is for "Beginners!" Beer-Cooler EPS is for know-all "Experts" who can grease EVERY landing and can handle all their toys like Ming China! 😱🙄
Yep. There is honestly no reason why the similar-to-these but better Volantex V761 series toys should be outselling Horizon UMXs by ratios of 100s to 1 around the world. Anybody would think that those are being certified by Boeing techies!?😉😊
Thanks for that review. The audio sounds like surround sound in a tunnel.
Its just a rebranded Top Rc, if you have a Radiomaster, you use protocol V761 and Top rc

6:00 the bank is likely torquesteer, caused by the rotation of the motor. Nothing you can do about that except trim.
Undered powered for sure, ya.
