Been in love with Fermin since the Preseason Clasico, he just has that confidence to go for a few extra meters and a shot. Already my favourite Barca Content Creator, keep up the good Work!

Title was a bit click-baitish. Ive watched Barca for a couple decades now, and i could say with a lot of confidence that the MFs we produce have not ever really been high scoring guys. They have been able to get some clinical and important goals over the years though. If you look at the goal contributions form Xavi and Iniesta and use that as the main measuring stick, then you'll undervalue them, as they rarely hit double figures for goals across all competitions for years. Their roles were mainly as creators, facilitators, instigators, controllers who fed our CF and wide forwards/wingers. The guys like Fabregas and Thiago who could've stayed and been successful at Barca left because they came up during the era of prime Xaviesta (Xavi & Iniesta). Both were very successful elsewhere. Cesc always played closer to goal compared to Thiago who though a CM, was more of a Deep Laying Playmaker. Raphinha Alcantara as you pointed out had the quality, however he was injury prone. I do like the premise you created about Fermin Lopez; that becuase he started of smaller in stature, gained the La Masia foundation then spent a season away allowd him to hone different attributes that likely wouldn't have blossomed had he stayed at Barca. He does have an interesting set of tools to work with. I wish him the best. Thanks for your production.
This captures a lot of what I wanted to say in response to this video. I’ve also been a Barca fan for twenty years and have seen Barca rise from an underperforming team under Van Gaal to their peak under Pep and then full circle to underperforming under a Dutch coach again. And you’re right Barca midfielders are tasked primarily with giving control and creating scoring chances. It’s always appreciated when players other than forwards can contribute on the scoresheet but that’s never been a huge demand of Barca midfielders. And when the guy that made this video suggested that Thiago had to leave because he wasn’t scoring enough goals or that Cesc became a huge success BECAUSE he left Barca when he did I have to question where the guy got his info from. The circumstances around why Thiago left are very complex and had very little if anything to do with his scoring output. And Cesc’s “success” at arsenal is also a significantly more complex topic than this video alludes to. Yes he got to play first team football sooner at arsenal due to an injury to Patrick Viera but one thing that this video did not touch on is that Arsenal went on a significant trophy drought during Cesc’s time as an arsenal first team player and the player desired a return to Barca to have the sort of trophies that weren’t happening at arsenal as well as a return to his hometown. Unfortunately his time at arsenal had a negative impact on his development where Wenger indulged the creative attacking side of his game but at the expense his defensive discipline which meant that when he returned to Barca he was not a suitable candidate for the CM controller position that Xavi had made his own which required a succession plan for given that Xavi was well into his thirties by that time. Cesc was something of a jack of all trades but master of none and could not find a role in the team unfortunately. Had he been a little more patient and been prepared to stay at Barca and take a more gradual ascent into the first team (the way Iniesta did) then I think Cesc could have been far more successful as a player.
High scoring was never the point. Rodri isn't high scoring either. It's the ability to be a threat from behind a striker's position that keeps the enemy on their toes.
When I heard of midfielders from La Masia who can go into the final third and finish I also thought of Xavi Simons. Shame Barca doesn't have him anymore especially when they need someone good at finishing him and Fermin have known each other and would be a deadly duo.
I've been thinking about the same thing since years, but i never found another guy who shared the same opinion as me. La Masia certainly has a kind of discipline and philosophy behind it but it doesn't mean that it's all good. Academy players sometimes forget the competitiveness of the sport and rather focus on being more technical and better. But in top tier football where everyone is just as good as you, that competitiveness plays a major part in winning. Thank you bro for sharing such a deeply thought about and researched video. Love from INDIA🙏🏻
Yes La Masia favours players with tremendous technical ability far above physicality because technical ability is most important to playing the Barca way. Yes that does mean that the first team ends up having to sign players that can offer qualities that the players they already have can’t provide. But that’s not necessarily a failing of La Masia. Examples of Positions/player profiles that La Masia has struggled to supply include very physical midfielders and right backs that can play like Dani Alves as well as highly clinical centre forwards
Another one of the cursed generation would be Sergi Roberto. Luckily for him and for the team, however, he has been able to develop his game in a way that made him from a mostly attacking midfielder in Barca B to somewhat of a multitool that can be used anywhere he is needed. And I really like how it has worked out, although I would have loved to see him more in an actual midfield role. At some point it seems he made the decision that, in order to stay at the club, he had to adapt to whatever was needed from him, and taking it with a certain amount of seriousness.
People do not learn. Let the boy play well, perform well before hailing and lauding him as the saviour. I wish he does everything and more than what people expect from him but creating and uplifting a different player every single year is like a tradition for all barca fans. Let him perform in silence and prove himself. He is scheduled to have a Spanish nation team call up soon which is a very good sign so let's wait and see how his career shapes up before moving on to the next player like everyone did with Halilovic, Alena, Puig, Munir, and countless more. PS. 70th minute substitution to bring Fermin and Gavi to create chaos can be a difference maker against even the best teams in world(Like Camavinga does [or did] for madrid). No one can match the energy of this Duo. Starting with both players like in the classico did show sign of fatigue near the end.
I absolutely agree with what he said. It may not seem very important on paper but it really makes a huge difference and the fun and surprising part is no one really talks about that. Wow!

Fermin Lopez was the only Barca player that held Madrid midfield to a standstill after Gundogan's goal in the El Classico that Barca lost 2-1. He was the only player that gave that cutting edge strike at goal but like you mentioned, he was "unlucky" as he hit the bar twice or so in that match. I expect to see more of him and hope Xavi doesn't relegate him to the bench for too long. We have to use him more for him to get better.
I was the preseason Clasico and when he came on everyone around me including me was asking why Xavi would put that kid in because El Clasico is always El clásico but he quickly shut us up with a that banger and assist to Ferran. He’s still young but with performances like against Shaktar and now with Gavi out for the season I hope he solidifies himself to the senior team next season
You don’t mention the most important player for Barca at that time after Messi, Busquet Busquets is at least so important as Iniesta at least. He was one of the players that let them play the way the wanted

I don't think we can point out only one. I would say they are all the pillars of an amazing building. But i agree, look at our game yesterday against Girona, we had "BACK" last year getting praise as the best defense in europe, this year without Busquets the same "BACK" looks like a mid table defensive unit. Busquets, I will miss you. I apologize for every doubting your value
He may always be that type of player to be honest, but I don't think there is anything wrong with that, especially with the depth barça has when healthy.
There was a chance gavi had against real sociedad. He nutmegged and he was through on goal but of course, he did what every la masia midfielder does, pass it back, which was then intercepted. I'm sure if it was fermin he would've taken a shot. La masia midfielders are great but theyre too boring sometimes. I hope fermin succeeds because he brings more to the game and still is very skillful on the ball like a mix of pedri and de jong. He could've scored a hattrick against shaktar as well. Great video!!! +1 sub
@@MR_IGdude nope. Pedri is by far way better than gavi in every terms except the physicality and defense. Watch pedris goals and assists. Almost every one of them are way better than what gavi has ever done infront of goal. Gavi is a deep lying playmaker, who's got the finese, touch, aggression and skill. But when it comes to shooting, id actually put people like camavinga or busquets higher than gavi for sure. Gavi if trained, can actually replace busquets in barcas midfield. He's consistent, he's got the defensive stats and he's also good on the turn. That's pretty much everything a defensive midfielder needs. He just needs to discipline himself and stick to a position like busquets used to.
@@abhijithkrishnag8842 your point about gavi being deep lying playmaker is spot on, I agree he can be a sort of kimmich player, with very high defensive abilities and still very skillful on the ball. However in terms of goals, just goals gavi's record is better than pedri. Pedri is a magician, he creates I'm sure he'd have a ton of assists by now only if the chances he creates are finished by the attackers. But in just goal stats, gavi edges it for me. And a reason for that could be because he plays more games. If pedri is not injured in most games he would score more, because he plays higher. Even more now considering he has felix, which I believe they'll gel together. So pedri's g/a will improve.
@@MR_IG exactly. Pedri in the last 2 seasons hasn't even played half the matches gavi did. If he wasn't rushed too much in his 1st season by koeman, we would have a 21 yr old ballandor candidate by now. Pedri is by far the most talented youngster in the world atm. He just needs to improve his physicality.
Fermin gives us that verticality and directness we desperately need at times, I do not think it is a coincidence since he has started to get more playing time the teams form has picked up.
La Masia has only been successful at feeding the first team for a few years. It produced an abnormally talented generation that won't likely happen again. Many all-time greats at Barcelona were transferred from other clubs: Cruyff himself, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Stoichkov, Koeman, Villa, Eto'o, Laudrup, etc. Right now, we're witnessing the team struggle due to the lack of financial sterngth to hire players and the absence of top talent at La Masia.
What Barcelona need is a good rotation plan for their midfielders.. they know their players are easily injured and can't play many matches.. they need almost an equal great player as their main midfielder players... Rotation bring out new fresh legs... maybe they will perform if they are fresh and not exhausted.
As a barca Fan I always wondered what happened to barca and why they dont win games anymore with this great squad. And I have to say that it could definitely be a reason that nobody shorts from 25-30 Yards away. Yamal is the only one in the last games who Tried it from distance and was near to success
Have been rooting for Fermin for a long time now, since I saw him pulling the trigger against Real Madrid. He's not considered that good might be because he isn't the best dribbler, passer or finisher or isn't the most defensive. But trust me he has it all in average quantity and that is what is needed. I see him as the only player to reach great heights considering Pedri is prone to injuries and Frenkie is more of a pivot.
Great video, you deserve way more subscribers! I think would be nice if you make a video about Bojan Krkic, he supposed to be the new messi and everyone expected a lot from him but he did not succeed
Thiago was such a good deep playmaker and showed that in Bayern. sadly Barca leadership didnt realize this and thought Xavi/Busquets will be young forever. Thiago leaving the club was the first in a line of extremely stupid decisions the club made, all culminating in the worst decision ever which was Messi leaving
I watched the video til the very last second the quality the content the delivery the editing everything 10 out of 10.. Then i accidentally looked the subs counter.. 15k!! I never been this disappointment in my life bro fucking sad.. Like i am speechless this is not fair at all.. All i am saying is.. you got a new fan my brother.. you deserve wayyy more than you get
I watched your video,I do like it,but I couldn’t agree with everything. The reason why we haven’t got attacking midfielders whose are scoring many goals is more likely based on the system we play. The system based on to be technically gifted, being able to take on defenders ,also be good on ball,passing..etc.. you mentioned Madrid midfield. They more likely scoring outside of the box ,our playing style is different. Also we had many great looking midfielders, but there was a period after Pep when a La Masia player had zero chance to get in the team except if the team had a huge injury blow. And it continues today as well. It’s a very sad tendency. We had Monchu who was the top scorer of the B team as a midfielder, but had no proper chance to prove himself. Collado ( winger, midfielder) … also the late players whose came around Valverde-Koeman era had no chance to stay in the team. The only tactic was to pass the ball to Messi, whoever does something else found himself out from the team. Puig had an amazing debut, the whole Laliga expected him to shine. He was the only midfielder that time who was able to think out of the box. Koeman ( and Xavi as well) just doglike it at all. Which is a shame since Xavi and Iniesta were great, because they does the same. Xavi said Nico will be the replacement of Busquets, just need more playing time. Than he never had a chance to come back. …Sad….
You didn't get his point, what he is actually trying to say is we need midfielders that can attempt a shot on goal at times. If you are talking about the system, Manchester City plays almost the same system as we do, but then the likes of Kevin Debruyne, Foden, Rodri, etc have the ability to shoot when necessary. Take the 2023 UCL final for example, that goal Rodri scored for City, if it were Busquets in that same position, I'm very sure he'd have passed it back or passed it to the flank hoping the winger would be able to put in a good cross, SERGIO BUSQUETS WON'T TAKE THAT SHOT! Another example is City's 4th goal against Chelsea last EPL game week, the deflected shot Rodri took, Busquets won't take that shot. The reason why we find it very hard to break down low-block teams is that we don't have players that have the ability to shoot from distance......I mean what's Tiki-Taka if we keep losing all the most important games.........
i htink it's way to early to determine that, i remember having the same expectation with aleña, with with riqui, with arthur, and with nico, all players who have contributed more to the team than fermin but thet somehow never lived up to this expectation, i could easily see fermin being sold for around 10 mil to make more money as the others did
Frenkie, Pedri, and Fermin in midfield, with Gavi and Yamal on the wings. That lineup would be creative, but will probably need a strong clinical striker to work with. Not 2023 Lewandowski, unfortunately...
it seems you want barça to change its philosophy to put a box to box misfielder in. Barcelona has produced the most succesfull and most entertaining teams, they will be great soon enough, and it will be with fermin as a left winger and gavi, pedri and de jong
I mean maybe, but there was a release clause in his contract that went down significantly because of a lack of playing time, meaning it would make it easier for him to leave. If we wanted to keep him so badly, give him playing time.
We wanted to keep Thiago because we need quality subs, but the truth is that he was never considered as a first 11 unless someone is injured. That's why he never got enough playing time. On top of that, he himself is injury prone. He was not patient enough to wait for his turn to be a first team player, but we can't blame him for having the ambition to succeed in his age. He chose the right thing to go to another club.
I dont agree with you on the fact that Rodri took the shot, but Busquests wouldn't have shooted. For records we have seen that Busquets has shot multiple times in crisis.

I hope fermin succeeds because he brings more to the game and still is very skillful on the ball like a mix of pedri and de jong. He could've scored a hattrick against shaktar as well.
Great video!!!
+1 sub
great example, I was screaming at the screen when he did that. Still love gavi though
@@bobblylou everyone loves gavi. At least he's a much better shooter of the ball than pedri. That guy never shoots 😂😂
They're all awesome tho
Bro just cooked in the Olympics 😭
not gonna lie i thought this video had like 200k views because of how good and insightful it is. keep it up!
Hah well I'm glad you liked it my friend!
Yo bro i subbed to you because of how good your football videos are. ❤
Gavi, Lamine Yamal and Fermin are the future of FC Barcelona from La Masia
Plus pedri fort Cubarsi and many more
Great video, you deserve way more subscribers! I think would be nice if you make a video about Bojan Krkic, he supposed to be the new messi and everyone expected a lot from him but he did not succeed
Joa is also something like player ,he just shoot , and thats y i like him
Fermin need to start and I been sayin this since the beginning of the season he's so good
We have Noah also he is a good attacking midfielder and he is left footed
Thiago was such a good deep playmaker and showed that in Bayern. sadly Barca leadership didnt realize this and thought Xavi/Busquets will be young forever. Thiago leaving the club was the first in a line of extremely stupid decisions the club made, all culminating in the worst decision ever which was Messi leaving
I watched the video til the very last second the quality the content the delivery the editing everything 10 out of 10.. Then i accidentally looked the subs counter.. 15k!! I never been this disappointment in my life bro fucking sad.. Like i am speechless this is not fair at all.. All i am saying is.. you got a new fan my brother.. you deserve wayyy more than you get
Ha bro it's just a number. I'm glad you enjoyed the video though!
@@bobblylou i absolutely did thank you so much for your dedication and creativity ♥
I dont know why ive been discovered u just today
Amazing work keep going
Visca barca
Yeah I remember xavi and iniesta drove me nuts cuz they always preferred to pass, rarely they did shoot
He injured now 😢 I hope he comes back even stronger 💪
The reason why we find it very hard to break down low-block teams is that we don't have players that have the ability to shoot from distance......I mean what's Tiki-Taka if we keep losing all the most important games.........
i htink it's way to early to determine that, i remember having the same expectation with aleña, with with riqui, with arthur, and with nico, all players who have contributed more to the team than fermin but thet somehow never lived up to this expectation, i could easily see fermin being sold for around 10 mil to make more money as the others did
He meant attacking midfielder. Goal scoring threats
But riqui was closest
hey man just found the channel, and i really enjoyed this video. keep grinding man
With pedri and Gavi it will ve nearly the same these days plus Fermin
We about to get Noah guille Bernal Prim yunyent etc
1:06 Damn Pep used to celebrate more as a Player 😂 also he had hair
Fermin is the current academy player I want to see the most from
As someone who is here after fermin scoring in the ucl against napoli this aged well
Dude this video is sick
Next 2-3 years add him to the list
This was a eye opener
Pique also loan to man united and he successful
3:55
"There was no spah frr Ces Fabrgas in that team anymore"
Love this video, keep up the good work
Thank you! Will do!
Bro ignored Gavi
Alena, etc Barca been producing more attacking Mfs every year but they do not get the chance to
Amazing video!
PD: You got a new suscriber
Glad you enjoyed!
Xavi isn't utilising Lopez. Such a baller.. no one in our team makes those deep runs into dangerous areas and his work rate is crazy too
Being reckless and taking risk are two different things
We need another Busquets octopus role
fermin lopez looks like Finn Cole from fast and furious 9
"You can't score without shooting." - Johan Cryuff
Rafinha was so good when played
I liked the video at the start, but the moment he said riqui puig wanted to like the video twice
the thiago slander is wild
I wanna see gave Pedrii and Fermin with gundo and Frankie play together
Frenkie, Pedri, and Fermin in midfield, with Gavi and Yamal on the wings. That lineup would be creative, but will probably need a strong clinical striker to work with. Not 2023 Lewandowski, unfortunately...
For a LaMasia player to break through during the golden era he literally had to be able to start for the greatest club football team of all time.
Passing backwards and not taking chances is what we do best.
it seems you want barça to change its philosophy to put a box to box misfielder in. Barcelona has produced the most succesfull and most entertaining teams, they will be great soon enough, and it will be with fermin as a left winger and gavi, pedri and de jong
@talkfootballhd please do a collab with him
I mean from what seen Gavi is pretty good enough at the shooting end but yh fermin is the who ended the curse
Being a Culer since the eighties I never heard of this 'curse' LOL
Koeman just didn't like Riqui Puig and it wasnt for footballing reasons. Besides Pedri, we still dont have his profile in Barca
Thiago couldn't find his place in the squad? What? We desperately wanted to keep him
I mean maybe, but there was a release clause in his contract that went down significantly because of a lack of playing time, meaning it would make it easier for him to leave.
What About Pedri & Fati. Both are great player out of Lamasia
You just said it all bro .. all I've been saying
News flash: the curse is still running in the team
You’re right 7:20
You've earned a new Sub! Great content
gavi enters the chat
And he scored against Napoli and Atleti.
I was there when the elk Classico in America he was magical
Carles Aleña😢i had high hopes for him ngl
I dont agree with you on the fact that Rodri took the shot, but Busquests wouldn't have shooted. For records we have seen that Busquets has shot multiple times in crisis.
Pleasee do a video on Faye
Now he registered for 1st team and wearing number 16 jurssy
Fermin is the next Rakitic lets hope he success in Barca
Cesc Fabregas joining the team was the WORST transfer in the history of the club. It caused Thiago, the Xavi replacement, to leave because of it.
*_Coutinho has entered the chat_*
I'd say this again...Fermin gives me KDB vibes 💪🏾
