  • 👉 Learn how to solve problems with trapezoids. A trapezoid is a four-sided shape (quadrilateral) such that one pair of opposite sides are parallel. Some of the properties of trapezoids are: one pair of opposite sides are parallel, etc. A trapezoid is isosceles is one pair of opposite sides are equal. A trapezoid is a right trapezoid if one of the angles is equal to 90 degrees.
    Given expressions representing some of the parts of a parallelogram, we can evaluate the expressions using our knowledge of the properties of a parallelogram.

    Were the angle measures that you solved for at the end equal? Is that another feature of an isosceles trapezoid? And are those specific angles are equal for every trapezoid or For this certain example?

    Since you used the alternate interior angle method, why didn't you say that 32 degrees was also the amount of degrees for angle X? And why aren't the angles on a straight line supplementary?

    • @1490063
      @1490063 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think because the 32 degree angle is not touching the parallel lines.

      Because line segment kn is not parallel to the opposite side

    With the specified data, no isosceles trapezoid can be constructed. The values for the base sides and the legs do not match the angles.

    Is there a way to do this with a normal trapezoid instead of isosceles?

    1:05 I thought opposite angles would be angle KNM and angle KLM and not KNM and LMN.

    what if you are given an isosceles trapezoid and you have to find the area, but the variables given, in regards to the parallel sides, the longer base and height. No other information regarding other sides, angles, or diagonals are given. How do you find the missing base? or the area?
    Once the missing base is found I know the formula for area.
    A=(1/2)(b1+b2)(h)
