    Your worst case scenario results are incredible especially for the difficulty of the subjects, and the fact you did 4 a levels not 3 and still got AABB is crazy. And your going kcl med school which is what I’m hoping to do. You’re an inspiration!

    I’m feeling a little inspired so I’m gonna briefly share my ongoing A-level journey.
    At the beginning of 2022, freshly out of secondary I chose my 3 options, Maths, Engineering Design and Physics A level.
    At the summer mocks at the end of year 12 I got CDU, for my courses. I was feeling pretty hopeless, just didn’t really know what to do.
    So I decided to take a gamble at beginning of year 13, redo Yr12. However this time scrap Physics and Engineering design and take Bio and Chem alongside Maths. The only thing I can say is that this was the best decision I have ever made since then. I’m happier, I’m more content, I feel more fulfilled, I don’t feel lost anymore! I was even able to get 3A’s at the y12 summer mocks 🥳
    The craziest thing is that I saved myself from the abysmal Physics AQA exam this year. I can only just thank God again and again. Who knows what would have happened if I continued on the original path??

    I know this sounds hard I think you’ll be better off at Kings. I maybe biased as I live in London. Big hugs to you. Sometimes life takes weird pathways. God laughs a lot at mine. Your results are amazing, you should be very proud. The exam boards suddenly decided to put up the boundaries. It was outrageous. Good luck at Kings. Onwards and upwards.

    I’m not a religious person myself but the way you walked about your faith in this video was so lovely, I’m so glad that you have your religion and your god to help you through hard times and reassure you that things happen for a reason and you are on the right path. As I said I’m not part of a religion myself but I have always found comfort in the thought that in some way the universe does have a plan for me and that all things happen for a reason, but we do still have to work hard for those things to come true🫶

    Please don't despair. Just keep going. You've already come this far. At my first attempt I got DDEE grades due to leaving college to take up full-time employment to help my family (financial difficulties). I was constantly being rejected even in jobs requiring good A-Level grades. I then decided to be strong and retake my exams. A year later, I got A*A*A*A*. Now, the same employers have recently made attempts to contact me for jobs. So it can all change. Just don't give up in life, keep on going.

    I did 4 AS subjects this year and I'm going into yr13 in September. I knew i needed to drop one between History and English and because I was predicted 4 As, i was ready to drop English but something kept telling me to reconsider. Fast forward to results day, I got AAAC with a C in History which was always my best subject. I was shocked. I'd never gotten anything less than an A so to get a C made me so upset. Then I saw that not only did I get an A in English, but I got 117/120 overall and I got full marks on one of my papers! I didn’t remember the exams going that well so it came as such a surprise to me. When I checked the grade boundaries before getting my results, I told myself there was no way I would get an A in English and I had made plans to drop it. Seeing that I did so well in it and not as well in History really confused me but I'm taking it as God clearly showing me what I'm meant to be doing. I did not anticipate that it would work out that way but it was a great reminder that God is always on my side, especially after having some doubts about my faith over time.

    It just really depends on whether or not they’ve met their numbers. If they have, they’re not going to accept equivalencies. KCL had a whole programme scrapped so needed to make up the numbers with UGs and so they’ve accepted more near misses than they usually do.

      YES - I wish someone had told me this before doing medicine, there are courses called “gateway to medicine” and a lot of unis offer this!! Check each uni specifically but I know they do accept btec equivalents as these courses are made specifically for people who haven’t done A Levels but still want to get into Medicine! It’s definitely possible to get into Med with a levels but it’s just a slighter harder route so I would research gateway courses and email admissions to double check if your specific course would be accepted! Grade boundaries are decided after all papers are marked, so your grade is relative to other pupils performances not to a notional grade mark. So grade boundaries cannot break you-your exam performance relative to others broke you. Too many pupils and teachers don't understand this. That is why using previous years grade boundaries for mocks etc is pointless.

    • @helloitssharon
      @helloitssharon  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I completely understand what you’re saying, however during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, grades were inflated massively. For the past two years exam boards have been raising grade boundaries in order to reduce the number of students receiving the top grades.
      It is unfair to blame my exam performance and not consider the grade boundaries or take into the account the effects of sitting exams post-pandemic 🙏🏾

    • @MrWD61
      @MrWD61 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@helloitssharon Grade boundaries are only raised relative to outcomes from that exam entry-they aren't raised and then pupils have to reach them. In effect more pupils did better than you in this years entry and that pushed your grade down. So one year 70% could get an 'A' if that is the within the highest marks that year, next year 70% might only get a 'C' if many entries get higher marks. I taught for 30+ years btw.
