    I have this model, very light, comfortable and beautiful. My concern is the finish which tends to be hard to clean and not to scratch.... I had to spend quite a time on the frets edges which were not polished at all (I hurt myself during a quick slide and cut my ring finger). I changed the ESP pick up with a genuine EMG 81 X and the difference of sound is quite impressive !!! Finally, I had to improve the gig bag which was not rigid enough in my opinion. I put higher density foam inside the bag. Now, the guitar is a pleasure to play. Honestly, I would have been ready to pay 100$ more right from the start in order to have a better set up, an EMG pick up and a more "heavy duty" softbag. This is my 4th Traveler guitar, I like the brand and the product, but a better care should be done on the finish of the frets edges.

    This looks like a great idea. Would love to have one to play in the hotel room when I travel for work. I just wish they replaced the tone knob with a rotary switch for selecting the amp models.

      I am thinkin' the same thing, I am about to take a job as a consultant with 80% travel. 3 weeks per trip in a hotel with no guitar does not sound like a fun time.

      @@afrocoolio25 you have extra room inside the gigbag allowing you to put a Boss Waza Air . This is my ultimate gear on travels and on hollydays.

    Made a mistake and ordered a Blackstar Carry On and it is being returned. It looked great but had serious issues and was not playable. My main guitar is an LTD Deluxe H1001 so I think this Traveler guitar will be a better guitar for me. As soon as I get credit FOT the return I’m going to order it.

    Chris Isaak, I mean Jeff: As a designer I would not put the i/o right where the guitar sits in my leg, Players will really hate that. Phones i/o on the top of the guitar where I can look directly and the cables will not tangle, guitar plug on the side.

    Beautiful and very functional guitar...As you spun it around to reveal the carved top, you might have held it so we can see the string height. My reservation is that the string height will be prohibitively high. Is that so??

    • @travelerguitar
      @travelerguitar  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all. Action/string height is industry standard across our product line.

      my eg-1 is at least 3yrs old has amazing intonation and low string height using 10-52 string set .my eg-1 is well played it has worn thru the cherry leaving an awesome road worn look ! everyone is blown away by the sound this little guitar produces played thru a blackstar 10w v2 id core and a mini crybaby wah my mini travel rig ! im looking to buy my 7 yr old grandson one ! only problem i see is the price point being 600 dollars come on traveler guitar 200-250 makes way more sense on the eg-1 standard and 300-400 for the custom and ltd which would make this guitar also a perfect first guitar for 2-10 yr old. range

    The finish and binding say “black beauty” to me, even if they’re not supposed to.
    What would you compare the different tone and channel settings with? Does the overdrive get anywhere close to a tube screamer? Does the distortion sound like Marshall or Mesa?

    I love my Traveler Guitar. My suggestions. It's OK to put 'Traveler' on the case, but not 'Guitar'. You might as well write steal me. Another issue for me is once in the hotel room, I have to look for a place to hide it, figure out a way to lock the zippers. I would of hoped that a company making instruments for travel would incorporate anti theft measures.

    What's the point of an electric travel guitar if it needs to plug into an amplifier to get sound?!

      It does not need to be plugged into an amp to get sound. There is a headphone amp built into the guitar itself you can plug headphones into it for private practice. But it certainly can be plugged into an amp if you prefer.

    I have the EC-1 LTD which I thought was ok. I swapped out the pickup with a EMG-81 and it sounds good. As for design the top 3 to 4 frets are hard to reach as the cut away is not enough but it is what it is. The big problem I have is with customer support and their website. This plastic cover that the Input-aux-headphones plug into is very thin and weak. if any of the plugs are in and take a light knock the plastic snaps. Obviously a common problem as they sell replacement parts on their website but if you want to be ignored by a company then these guys are trying to win that award. 4 emails and only a generic "we'll call you" response. Anyone wanna buy a broke guitar?

  •  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Not worth it $700 for a mini guitar? They build in an amp but no speaker? The point of traveling guitar is you only need the guitar and nothing else... who wants to carry headphones around with them, or a speaker, if it would have had a speaker built in so all you needed was the guitar and play anywhere then it be an ok guitar, but still $700 plus your tax and shipping is crazy, $150-$199 tops but $799 you can get a Mini Marshall Stack 15-30 watt amp that’s got the head piece and two speaker cabs 12” ......

      Hey Kixx- this is only one of many, many travel guitars we make. Our guitars start at $199.99 and go all the way up to $749.99. Lots of variations available on our website; acoustic/electric, headphone amp/no headphone amp, headstock/no headstock, etc. Something for everyone! This one was super fun because we got to do with with our friends over at ESP. As for shipping, our guitars ship free in the United States.
