Can’t believe I lived here for almost 3 years in the early 90s as an aid worker. Brings back memories. It was peaceful and open then.

To imagine the most wealthy person in the entire history of humanity ruled over these lands at one point... The more you see how Europe stripped these places of all their wealth and identity the more you realize we will never be able to repay this debt

Mansa Musa sure was wealthy but his subordinates were not. They lived under oppression and poverty. Europeans did a lot of bad stuff during the colonial times but it's not like Africa was a nice place to live before them either.

Assalamualaiykum! Dear Mali Brothers & Sisters stand up read and study worldly & Islamic and be in unity to break peoples who is creating rites to loot your Gold, Uranium and many other recourses.
Rites are to show unitability in country, it's doing purposely by enemy of Islam and looters.
You are the world richest people and you have it hold the Quran and Sunna to grow. I wish for you to give best life which can make your life richer in world and Akhirah Ameen.

Dumbest comment ever. Alaska villages may be a bit run down as a cultural thing, but it consistently has one of the highest per capita incomes in one of the richest countries of the world. It is also Caucasian and Indigenous, has super-high education/health services, and no Islamic or any religious terrorism.
