I honestly admit that I am not a fish connoisseur, but I would definitely welcome the opportunity to sample the results of this dedicated man's efforts. It touches my heart to hear about people who revitalize "forgotten" and neglected facilities to produce worthwhile things! The man is sincere, and that's something I value very, very highly. Great video!
This is a great video. I love hearing his story how he got this hatchery back up working and being productive as a food source. I like his enthusiasm, drive and work ethic. We need more people like him who is concerned how our food should be grown and taste. The way he described the quality of his fish is what I would love to try instead of the fish that has that riverbank smell and taste. I will have to check this out. Keep these stories coming!
If all food producers shared his vision these days we'd all be better for it. Whoever originally designed that water system did an amazing job. One of the best parts of the story was finding the old gentleman who once worked there. I can only imagine how pleased and proud that guy must have been to have the opportunity to come back and show him how to make it all work. Very interesting, and a beautiful place. 😊👍
This guy is so cool! We have eaten trout from them thanks to ordering from Polyface. I will definitely be a customer directly since we are local! I love trout, especially with the salmon fisheries being shutdown people need to diversify their fish species, plus not all farmed fish are created equal! These do taste like you fished them yourself! So good 👍
It’s pretty amazing what can happen when you have a vision for something that others overlook. If only more producers of our food cared as much as he did…
This is so cool. I love his vision and I totally agree with him on the things he said about eating raw, unprocessed foods and the health benefits. Quality over quantity! PS: I love your channel and I'm looking forward to each new episode. As a German, your videos make me feel like I'm visiting the Appalachians again. Miss this place!
Thanks for watching & sharing!...we also love hearing from you in the comments!!

Agreed! Their vision for a holistic food system that is regenerative for the land as well as people is quite admirable!

This is an amazing story. Wish I could work there and maybe even catch some on a fly rod. Thanks for keeping places like this going.

Good job everybody. I like the shorter vids, rarely have time to watch 20-30 min stories.
Thanks! You'll get a little bit of everything here- short to long form stories & profile type pieces.
