Andrew, these pieces are amazing. I’m thoroughly impressed. I appreciate the power & resilience felt through the King. The Queen looks like a badass. Great job!
I absolutely love everything about the design of the pieces especially the rook and knight. The only critic I can offer as a chess enthusiast is the proportions of hight and base width. A key component of a chess set if the falloff from the hight of the king to the rook with each piece getting progressively shorter creating a triangle outline. This hight difference directly affects the base width. With the base generally being just under half the size of the hight. So if it's a 4 inch king the base would be 2 inches or 1.8 inch base. If you address these promotions I think you'll have the perfect set. But I really love the motif of the pieces. As far as cost effective manufacturing, injection moulded high impact plastic would be the way to go. I know it's not the nicest material but it would making it more affordable. Great work!
Hi Andrew, Try experimenting with less explicit and more elegant shapes for the queen (more stylized? idk). Maybe this would make her into a more interesting character, or give you new directions where to take it. Research the shape language of queens in medieval painting. Try making the king fatter like Henry VIII. This would make him look wealthy instead of strong. I think the idea of making the pawn a child is pretty cool. Try experimenting with different body types. By doing so you could give a new approach to a well known idea. Like you did with the pawn. You wouldn't need to do this for every design though; you nailed it with the tower. Good work!

Hey thanks! I appreciate it!
Well, the word infantry came from the latin word infantem, that means both inexperienced soldier and child. And yes, sometimes it meant both.
Good point! I didn’t even consider that.

Крутая затея
Еще бы для такого набора сделать 3D доску в виде арены, с различной высотой клеток
The horse is the most controversial piece for me. I understand the reasoning, but removing the horse is sacrilegious to me.
How are you suppouse to make a little neigh sound when you move the piece now?
Можно ли будет заказа такой набор у вас? И всегда хотел спросить куда вы потом реализуете свои изделия?
