      Thank you! Yeah, it's held up great too. I just hit it with 303 Aerospace protectant every time I wash the van!

    I just went to your website and noticed you are making some of the stuff. Can't wait for the AC brackets to be back in stock. I ordered my AC today.

    This is the cleanest and most thorough MaxxFan install I've seen on TH-cam. I agree that using the Flex Seal looks more professional than the Tetradactyl turd look. Nice use of your C&C skills with the mounting rings though a little overkill. (But I'm sure the more you use it, the more you can convince your other half it was a good purchase. ;-) )

      @moonrakerdesign  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mike, thanks for taking the time to stop by and share this. I really appreciate it and the kind words! The flex seal is holding up so good and looks so nice that when it stops raining I think I'm going to pull the AC out and do it there too so it all matches! And for the CNC you are totally right and shhhhh don't give away my secret ;)!!!! Someone could easily use firing strips or the kit from DIY van instead. Having a sandwich there is way better than tapping screws into the sheet metal IMO. It's so solid!

    You make great informative (and entertaining) videos. I've watched a bunch getting ready to do the installs on my van. I only wish I had the machine shop available to make the upgrades that you do. I would love the interior ring that you made for the MaxAir fan, better yet the custom brackets you made to mount the Dometic RTX 2000. I'm getting the trim rims from DIYVan per your suggestion and I have to figure out how to modify/make new that interior brackets. Keep the videos coming.

    • @moonrakerdesign
      @moonrakerdesign  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Scott, Appreciate the kind words and taking the time to stop by and comment! I'm glad you like the videos, it's been a fun creative outlet for us. Sometimes we go a little off the rails, but it's still fun regardless. As you saw above I am starting to make a few things. The inner brackets I'm trying to find a decent material alternative that's cheaper. I just had the ABS laying around and if I had to make it out of that material alone would be around $80.00 not to mention the labor. Yes I'm starting to make the Dometic Brackets. My biggest issue right now is finding a decent powder coater that doesn't cost a fortune in my neck of the woods.

    Todd, amazing as always! Thoughts on UV degradation of Flex Seal? Seems to be controversial in this application.

      Thank you! I can only speak from my own experience. So far it’s been going strong for me 2 years in the California sun and winter atmospheric rivers parked outside 365 days a year. When I wash the van once about every other month I do hit the flexseal with 303 Aerospace Protectant.

    Would those machined pieces fit onto the factory head liner? Would love these!

    • @moonrakerdesign
      @moonrakerdesign  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey @directedbydon I've not actually seen the factory headliner in person but they only stick down ~0.625" from the roof skin which is well inside the depth the roof ribs that I believe the factory headliner attaches too. Anyways, if you want to shoot me an email - hello at farrframeworks dot com we can talk more in detail. Thanks for stopping by!

    Absolutely you should manufacture those interior components. Far superior to DIYVvan option. Great job as usual!

    • @moonrakerdesign
      @moonrakerdesign  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you Denny! I’ve actually made some for quite a few people. I’ve been looking for cheaper material to make them more affordable but so far haven’t found anything that works and bonds better than the ABS so it’s a bit more expensive than DIY Vans solution.

      Hey @TM-pz6nr thanks for the comment and the compliment, it's much appreciated! You can check the parts out on my bike website at the moment - farrframeworks.com/sprinter-van-parts. However, the interior mounting pieces are still made to order since the material cost is so high and I don't want to carry the inventory. Lead time on those is about 3-4 working days. If you are interested in still purchasing after you visit the website drop me a line in the connect section and I can get you taken care of!
      Thanks again for the support!

    Nice work! In the description it says you ordered the center adaptor for NCV3 but I’m pretty sure you have a VS30 van. Is that a typo or some intentional hack?

    • @moonrakerdesign
      @moonrakerdesign  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, thanks for calling that out and the feedback. Here's the fully product description from my order DIYVan "Sprinter NCV3 or VS30 (2007 - present) Roof Vent Adapter for 14" x 14" opening - VS30 Front Adapter, butyl tape". So it works on both NVC3 and VS30 vans. When I put this video description together I didn't make that clear. I'll update to improve the clarity there.

    Such a clean install. Any chance you'd share the step file for the ABS pieces and the dxf or model for the anti crack ring? This would be for my personal install so no worries there. If not, I completely understand. I will quit being lazy and model it myself. As a machinist I love to avoid wood at all costs haha. Now I just need my van I ordered last August to show up. Was just assigned a VIN this past week so hopefully it's getting close.

Congrats on the van and I’m in the same boat as you, not a fan of the wood structural members either!

    What size nuts and bolts did you use for your adapter? edit just saw they came in the box with the bracket

    • @moonrakerdesign
      @moonrakerdesign  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep if you buy the kit from us they come with it!!! They are #10x1.5” long machine screws for reference. They work ok 99% of installs. But there has been one so far that was way off to the side of the van that needed 5x 2” long screws instead!

      @@moonrakerdesign we will see if it works for mine. One last quick question. Not pertaining to this video, how much 3m90 did you use for your flare install?

    • @moonrakerdesign
      @moonrakerdesign  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@noahlastner7544 I used 1.5 cans. Honestly I’m not a fan of 3M 90 anymore though except for Thinsulate. Ever since I got my compressor sprayer set up I’ve been using Landau Top and Trim exclusively for upholstery. It holds up so much better. I have a few spots on the flares starting to delam with 3M 90 after the hot summer this year. I’ll probably rip it out and start over when the walls go up.
