It seems like xenon can boss pretty well. Not very high survivablility at lower levels though. I've personally never bought pots ever, but I always go through a lot more than normal with my xenon.
I have never heard anybody say it better. I completely agree with you on this. Ever since Big Bang, maple was never the same. It was just so great before with all the friends made and just how insanely long it took to level and how much pride you had at achieving level 30. Now, if you don't get level 30 the first day you make the character you're considered a failure. God how I miss the old days.
You don't seem to understand. Maplestory, while removing a lot of the difficulty, brought in a larger amount of players and scared the older ones away. While sure, the old Maplestory version was great, and I loved it, this one is all around better. More classes, more choices, more variety. They may have broken it, but making everyone feel awesome rather than the few who dumped their life into it made this better for everyone.
Personally I don't like having all these classes where you play as a specific hero/champion. The ideas are cool but they should have been implemented into some kind of explorer class or some new branch system (resistance and cygnus worked well). Also if 5th jobs came out, woudln't it be cool if there were options for each 4th job? Like a whole new branching system
I think you're talking about Arkarium, not Von Leon. While Nexon did raise the hp cap to 500k, I think the reason he survived is due to a buff that xenon has that absorbs all damage from 10 enemy attacks, and nexon hadn't updated Ark to hit through that buff.
I know it is kind of sad but being high level actually means something when you have to put a hell of a lot of time and effort into it. There was a time that even getting to level 20 was kind of time consuming - getting to levels 100+ was a real struggle and it made it worthwhile to stand above people who had a long journey till they came close. Not only that: our effort was thrown in our faces when it became so much easier, it seemed unfair. Still most have moved on now.
The overpowered classes and million miracle cubing players aside, the Chaos modes ones are still pretty beastly, Cygnus, Magnus, there are still some difficult bosses out there.
What does funding mean? Does it mean to spend real money? How does funding help to get that type of hits? I want my character to have high hits as well. Thank you.
The new unleashed patch is basicly to see if the older maplers would come back in my opinion. and getting to level 250 is like getting from lvl 1-200 100 times. I like the idea because it might encourage people to stay on the same character a bit longer but if they added new skills at lvl 250 people will see an actual point in getting there.

He most likely had the Heaven's Door buff casted on him prior to the battle (Bishop Hyper Skill). If you look at the upper right corner of the video, one buff (off-screen) disappears the moment Arkarium casts that spell.
I think you guys should considerate that to have all this damage as seen in this video, requires a lot of good items, which in most cases, are very expensive, its not "anyone" who can deal all this damage.

Yep, Old maple was definitely more fun than this Maple Era we are currently in. Maplestory isn't all about leveling, it's about the fun about PQing with others and grinding hours for levels. This Maple we are in right now is sad, every job is crazy powered, what can the adventurers even do now?
I miss those days... Now everyone is about power... no one socialises any more. I tried this again like a week ago got to level 80 in a day (more like 4-5 hours). I remember 10 years ago it took like 2-3 weeks of pure grinding to get there.
Now just to clear all this up I DO enjoy the new maple but im just trying to say if the people werent so damn caught up in leveling up it would be a much nicer place.
i never said you did. pre-BB took a while to lvl, but it was a lot more fun to lvl and bossing took a while longer but was also more fun because you actually made friends instead of grinding by yourself and only solo or duo bosses like now. the second sentence in my previous comment was sarcasm.
I know how people complain and stuff, but I personally like after BB better but I miss the adventures of pre BB. I remember how I went down EOS tower and had to go up. I remember getting attacked by Crog on the ship. I remember exploring Aquarium and I remember CPQ rombot grind. And the hidden streets that ARE hidden.

I was apart of maplestory five years ago. It was hard, frustrating and not worth the time it took. The way it is now allows people with less time to at least feel like they have a chance to play against good bosses and have exciting fast paced skills; something a lot of gamers want to see. Horntail in half a second... back in the day, Broa would get a team like Korwyn and Loopedd and 50 other people to take him down in quite a few minutes. People would achieve soloing Zakum in a few hours, when you couldn't hit millions per hit. The good ol days.
If you miss pre-BB there is a private server which I play on since 3 days which is called ClassicMS, I'm not the creator of the game or something like that I'm just a normal player like you who wanted to play pre-BB maple again. The problem of that server is that there aren't many people, but the rest is perfect, just give it a try, you won't regret it :)

Well eventually people get strong enough to solo a particular boss so they have to release another one and eventually things like this end up happening. It's really not that bad, less than 1% of players actually get this good.

For all MMORPGs, damage will inflate, but so will the HP of many mobs. Thus, it's not that the game is ruined, but it's that the game has evolved. If anything, it's the community that's ruined because of the massive exposure the game has been receiving.

Because the game used to be about socializing, not high numbers. This was the true essence of Maplestory

I remember being happy Jude being able to hit 3k in 1 row as a hermit at lvl 70. Hard times but the best times.

in KMS the damage cap was increased to 50 mil. they plan on doing the same thing to GMS
