- Video of the George Jones funeral procession on its way from the Grand Ole Opry House (memorial service) to the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Nashville Tennessee. This video was taken on May 2, 2013 about 1:30pm at Thompson Lane and Sidco Drive (just about a block away from the cemetery). It was only by coincidence that his song "When The Grass Grows Over Me" was playing on the radio. This procession followed an emotional star studded memorial service celebrating the life of George Jones at the Grand Ole Opry House. We went to the burial after this was taped. You can see pictures from the burial on my Tennessee Concerts website. Video by Pat Adams from www.TennesseeConcerts.com. There will never be another singer like GEORGE JONES he did not sing country music HE WAS COUNTRY MUSIC!!
His preacher said he turned his life around many years ago. He was saved and is now with our Lord .
Yes, understand he had tried to quit drinking a few times and fell off the wagon, but that he was doing well the last several years of his life. I saw him in concert at a small venue a few years before he died and had a chance to talk briefly with one of the members of his band. He said that Jones had stopped drinking and that everyone around him was thrilled.
Amen George was saved and he is with our Lord
No one will ever fill their shoes George. RIP you will never be forgotten. The most sad moment in country music. I will listen to your songs until the day I die.
Who’s gonna fill his shoes ❤️
Who's gonna stand that tall, who's gonna play the opre or the Wabash cannonball? Who's gonna pour their heart out to get to me and you? Lord I wonder who's gonna fill their shoes?
I'm sure God was happy to see the chorus of angels finally complete, the best of the best home. We will miss him here but he was more than we ever deserved!! Sing with the rest of the angels George!!
Those country greats,They have touched many lives,.

Thank you so music I love George Jones music. Great video A plus
RIP George. Gonna miss you dearly.
Rather fitting, for the Possum, police escort and helicopter.. He put on many a show this time was his last.
Love to Nancy & the family!
It's the honorable thing to do for someone who has passed away and for their family, stopping for the funeral procession. I'm surprised that they don't have their lights on or flags on the cars. We always stop traffic for them. He had such a rough and tumble life. I hope he is at peace now and not having to fight the devils within. God Bless all of you who are family and friends.
I like the way the song is playing in the background ,,,from the mall? Or someone's car ,,,
Thank you ! Lovely video !
Governor Huckabee said it best in my opinion. "George Jones sang for us" R.I.P.
True RESPECT. I was happy to see the cars and trucks on the other the other side of the road stop and wait for the family to pass. You don't see that happen very often now days.

This is a good post...if it had "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes " playiing in the background, would've topped the cake.
Heart 💜 broken
GOD BLESS YOU GEORGE;FROM 1 TO ANOTHER.
You will always be missed
VERY NICE FUNERAL FOR GEOGE JONES IM SORRY FOR YOU LOSS TO ALL HIS FAMILLY
Almost like he was singing up there in heaven when the camera panned up towards the sky as the music briefly got louder.
Rip george jones
I'm glad I was able to view this but I wish it wasn't true. The Best of Country's Best.
Notice how eerily quiet everything became.
RIP Possum
For people who couldn't be there....
Very sad day in country music history
The song is "When the Grass Grows Over Me"
You do where I live. In the South it's a standard thing to do.
Looks like even God was a little sorry to see George die, judging by the clouds. Or, maybe, he was a little pissed off because now he had to deal with him one on one.
"they don't make those shoes anymore" - Vince Gill
He stopped loving her today.
She placed a wreath upon his door and soon They’ll Carrie him away he stopped loving her today
Amen and you are so right
Mercy, the camera spent more time in the air than on the procession.
RIP G. J.
We're here but for to choose our eternal home only. We have the gift of Salvation at our fingertips, but we must want and ask for it through Christ. He is our Savior, our mediator to the most high. Everything we have on this Earth, fame, money, posessions, are all temporal and will fade away. One hundred years from now, we'll all be a forgotten memory if Jesus toils that long, but if we are right with our Lord when we pass, one hundred years will be just a grain of sand.

Why didn't they stop traffic for him, they did for bear Bryant. Stopped all lanes both sides of interstate 65
😥😥😥
Where is this being reported? Long suspected this and a few others around him.
Rip Possum
It's all good, I apologize too,
Not hero worshiping. I love George Jones more than I can type. But I pray country music will progress in the direction this man help start. It is a music genre that he and his generation started that is so much beloved. Ratings is the king these days. This is so wrong. I can only pray that what these giants started for us will be given to future generations. RIP George..
it happens in Indiana Also..

"He stopped loving her today "
r.i.p possum king
Does anybody know what George Jones song is being played in the background?
It's called When The Grass Grows Over Me.
It happens in the south, it's just what they do.
Even the president doesn't get that many stretch limos in his procession.
I was in the 3th police car
Is it me that’s stupid or these ignorant people in a funeral processions, out of respect you never get into a procession, you let it completely go by,unbelievable really!

Poor camera control.
Aint elvis
have you no respect, why would you post something like that
God rest his soul, country music has died. Now all we're left stuck with is this stupid Jason Aldean crap. (Well, ok at least we still have Alan jackson, thank God!!!) What will it take to make the idiots in the music business wake up and start giving us real country music again??
