I've never rushed to sub to another channel so fast. You're making so many incredible videos man! This is the best cocktail channel as far as I'm concerned.
As an avid cocktail and tiki fan, I was delighted when I found your channel a couple of months ago. I've been lurking on all the big cocktail content creators for years, and I don't understand how it took me this long to find your channel. Anyhoo, I just wanted to say that i am incredibly impressed with your setup, knowledge, production and content. I particularily enjoy your no BS, no clickbaity down to earth style. You are ny new favorite cocktail channel! Now, that that awkwardness is out of the way. Can you please consider attempting a sponsorship with Ninja? I'd love to watch a beginners guide to this machine, also the perspective "How to adapt any cocktail" explaining the tools to get abv and sugar content right. Admitting right now that my next step after writing this comment is to research if can get ahold of the slushie machine here in Norway, so your existing content, especially this Mai Tai recipe, already sold me. Need less to say, I also subbed to your new channel and am excited to see where that goes. Thanks again and good luck!
Thanks I appreciate it! I don't forsee any sponsorships, but on the other channel there will be way more specific videos on slushies, that particular machine and the basics. For now, that spreadhseet is the only tool you need to get a close approximation to dial in the sugar and ABV. The machine does 16 oz as smallest and 64 as largest
I was interested in this machine already and this one clinched it. If I don't see a holiday sale on it then I will definitely pick it up after that. I will notate all your recipes in the meantime. 🍹
Really big fan of doing the frozen drinks- we (especially home bartenders) have a lot to learn about them. How to Drink’s episode on alcoholic ice cream is a classic in that arena!
You can make this exact thing with a regular ninja blender(or comparable brand). I make them all the time. Get the exact consistency of a Slurpee from 7-11. This machine is overkill unless you host a lot of big crowds.
Yay! Slushi Channel! I subscribed to both. I need to dig deeper on this simple syrup thing. I’m confused with the granulated sugar then adding simple syrup not listed in ingredients list. Edit: Nevermind. You were pouring orgeat, not simple syrup.
depends on your simple syrup. If it's 1:1 then 2x simple to original granulated sugar and reduce the amount of water you add by the amount of water that is in your simple syrup.
I found your channel because I have a slushi machine and when I got it there were no videos online about it… at least not from people who sellout Will go to your second channel now Thanks😊
Sorry I don't know off the of my head but. But simple syurp is just water and sugar so you can adjust those number, but depends on if it's 2:1 or 1:1. The Slushie spreadsheet calculator can help you input and adjust recipes.
Make and drink 2.0! Will gladly support. Curious how you think Ninja creami drinks compare to the slushi vs blender drinks if there’s in between for us who are are already 300$ deep in the ninja game
The creami can't do drinks like the Slushi. It's essentially a blender and not a great one at that since it's can't incorporate the sides of the jar. When I've tested them, blenders did a much better job that the creami The main difference in blender vs slushies is texture. You can't get the fine, small ice crystal structure of slushies in a blender. Doesn't mean blenders are bad, they're just different.
@@makeanddrink love this mai tai recipe btw! I just can't find a decent bar-tender approved spiked cider frozen drink recipe. and i trust your taste based on how legit your channel is. Maybe i can riff off your le fou's brew for now
I was blending pina coladas in my vitamix the other day and I could not get the right amount of ice either too much and it would not blend and it would dilute or too little and not cold enough. I am for sure getting a ninja slushi for my b day in February. hopefully the price will be lower then. I will be trying all of these next summer
Blender drinks are hard to calibrate and when you do it really comes down to the right ice and the right blender. Unfortunately, less powerful blenders just don't cut it.
SIX new Make and Drink videos this week?? And it's only Thursday! You're a mad man, Derek. Incredible work.
I'm very tired
@@makeanddrink Time for a drink
It really was fantastic.
I subscribed to both channels 😊
SO EXCITED ABOUT YOUR NEW SLUSHI CHANNEL! A dream come true!
Lot's more to come!

Thank you! 🙏

Oh and forgot to ask a question on the machine: whats the smallest and largest volumes you can add to it to make slushies?
Thanks I appreciate it!

Wow amazing news for this channel idea LOVE your channel so underrated 👏🏽
Thank you so much!
Really big fan of doing the frozen drinks- we (especially home bartenders) have a lot to learn about them. How to Drink’s episode on alcoholic ice cream is a classic in that arena!
That's why I wanted to give it it's own space instead of inserting them here from time to time.
I would buy that Ninja just for this! 😂

I friggin love slushies and blended drinks. I am IN.

Great video! What amount of simple sirup do I need to take to substitute the granulated sugar? Thank you

thank you for that new channel! i m thinking about buying a slushie machine which can hold like 12liters.. maybe next sommer!
that's a lot of slush!
I added some pineapple juice to give it a tropical resort mai tai vibe. I actually enjoyed it a bit more.
Yes! 🎉🎉🎉
If I wanted to use simple syrup instead of granulated sugar, how would that change the sugar and water amounts?

Can you PLEASE do an apple cider + bourbon spiked slush recipe for fall?
🤔

oh another idea while we're at it: the New Orleans "Hand Grenade" drink in the ninja slushi
I was blending pina coladas in my vitamix the other day and I could not get the right amount of ice

Lets go i have one
Can this be done with amaretto?
Possible but not advisable
Amaretto should never be used in a Mai Tai.
Kevin must be nearly on your payroll by now 😁
Awesome stuff!! Have you tried putting xanthan gum in the Slushi yet?
I have and I didn’t like it. Still working on it.
Where do I find decent rums other than Plantation in Oakland?
I always add some xantham gum to my slushy type recipes, I am sure you already know about this.
I just find it doesn’t work well for slushies. Not a fan of the texture or needing to use a blender to disperse it.
Hear me out. The best Mai Tai combo IMO is 50/50 Appleton 8 + El Dorado 12yr. Try the Guyana rums with the Jamaican in a MaiTai, it's a great pairing.
That's not the best. That's just what you like.
Kevin, do you get paid even if we skip the ad after 5 seconds? Do you get more if we watch the whole thing? I want to know how best to support you.
Kevin works for free!
@@makeanddrink I was paid in free Mai Tais
Does skipping an ad affect your cut?
Not sure, but 1 ad view is probably a percentage of a penny so no worries. Skip away!
Why would you need a 2nd channel for that?
