    Just to let you know Dr. Berg, my husband's sugar was up at 7.0 in March. He followed your Keto diet and Intermittent fasting and he has lost over 60 lbs in three months and his sugar is back in the normal ranges. You are a blessing to many people. Thank you.

    Forgot to mention that it has to be consumed alongside the black pepper. Otherwise the liver metabolism rate of cucumin is so fast the body won't be able to absorb it all. Back pepper increases its absorption by 2k%.

      Yes. The active ingredient of turmeric (curcumin) is best consumed with the active ingredient of pepper (Pipen). Also I heard (maybe Dr Berg) that a little heat enhances even that. So: in practice do this. Two teaspoons of turmeric, a quarter teaspoon of ground black pepper, enough olive olive oil (yes it is fat soluble, and yes you could use butter etc) to dissolve this some gentle heating. Bingo! Dr Berg, Sina Aramyan ... a stupidly fast and effective anti inflammatory.

    I suffer from fibromyalgia and every day I take a pill of 2,500 mg turmeric and 10 mg black pepper. It is a life saver for me. I feel so much better. A long with weight training and intermittent fasting 18-6, cutting out sugar, home cooked meals, load of greens and protein every day and a keto diet, my pain, servere headaches and discomfort has diminished to such an extent, that I can hardly believe it. I want to point out that my last meal of the day is at 6pm, then I workout between 10-12 in the mornings and after 18-19 hours, I have my first meal. Never would I have believed it would be possible to lift heavy weights without eating right before, but after a week my body adjusted and I just feel energized and ready to go.
    Thank you so much Dr. Berg for all of this very helpful content you make. I got into keto and intermittent fasting because of you, and I've never felt better in my body and my mind. Everything we learn about eating all day long, is so wrong. My blood sugar and mood is stable now. I feel like I'm in control of my body. I absolutely love not being hungry all the time - I'm much more calm and feel light and content. I truely believe intermittent fasting is the way to live longer, free of disease and more fulfilled.

    Just turned 65 and started taking Turmeric. I am terribly dissatisfied with my current physician, for constantly pushing another pharmaceutical solution for my health issues. I am six feet tall and weigh 170, two high pressure medications, Prevacid for acid reflux and allopurinol for gout. When I ask about getting off the meds he is no help. I have other prescriptions he has written but after reading up on them I declined to take them because of side effects. The pharmaceutical industry is bribing the medical profession to push their poison.

    I will add, that in my case, the ER doctor I saw was the one that pointed out that the turmeric (and the tea) was a blood thinner. That’s one of the reasons doctors want you to stop taking supplements prior to surgery. Didn’t help that I had some thin walled blood vessels in my schnozola.

    You just confirmed that I am on the right track. I changed my first meal of the day to between 12-3pm over a year ago based on your other videos. My first meal of the day consists of 3 eggs, table spoon each of turmeric, nutritional yeast, MTC oil, olive oil, cheese and garlic or onions, diced veggies depending on what we have and a side of cooked meat. I cook it in a couple of table spoons of bacon grease and go heavy on the course ground pepper and himalayan salt. I am a creature of habit and am ok eating this 7 days a week with a huge glass of ice cold water. I just turned 65 yrs old and I do HIIT sprints or bike work almost every day. I had an appointment with my Doctor last week and told him I wanted off of the statins. He was ok with that and we switched over to Rapatha and I feel better already. In India, it is turmeric in warm milk after dinner before bed. It is in Ayurveda , it has to be in WARM milk, not cold. My mother used to use this forty years ago for joint knee pain, and it works. Now our science is telling us that it is anti- inflammatory. So please use WARM milk or WARM water.

    Also keep in mind you can't boil some of plant based milk see which one works best for you. Dont add too much turmeric it might taste bit bad. I really enjoy this drink everyday

    Add black pepper to strengthen the Curcumin and qualifying effectiveness

  • @Susileedean
    @Susileedean 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You are right, Dr. Berg. Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory. My Vedanta friends from India, (who have been teaching me how to cook Indian food), tell me that the curcumin in the turmeric becomes potentiated, if black pepper is added to it. Then the active ingredient becomes more readily utilized by the body.
    Your suggestion about mixing turmeric with coconut oil sounds good. It has some kinds of fatty acids that are good for us.
    We make chai tea with boiling water, curcumin and black pepper, cinnamon, ginger, cloves. The cinnamon helps with blood sugar control. The ginger helps with settling the stomach. Simmer the spices in water, add a couple teabags, strain the chai tea into cups, and add a little milk. Add a sweetener: I use Stevia instead of sugar, to keep my cup of chai as keto. Many friends don’t know how inflammatory sugar is, and that it should be avoided.

    When I donated one of my kidneys, I didn’t realize that I would be asked not to take ibuprofen ever again - I was worried, I had always called it vitamin I. I had been a marathoner and didn’t think I could live without my ibuprofen. I started taking cumin every morning with my eggs and it absolutely worked as well as ibuprofen for my joint aches and pains. I also noticed that my chronic interstitial cystitis went away, I always thought I’d have that struggle forever.
    I heat up some avocado oil, add my cumin and pepper then all my veggies and eggs. I like the cumin that way, it seems to be grainy and bitter without a light sauté.
