It baffles me that the culture an life style of being a Mandalorian went from a idea to being considered a Human only species.
Like any species could become a Mandalorian, just had to prove themselves and follow their customs. Hell i remember reading somewhere that there was a Hutt Mandalorian but instead of a fat slug was super buff.
What Mandalorians are now is just sad, still cool but a fall from grace for sure.

Mandalore the indomitable wasn’t the only Mandalore to side with the Empire. There was Mandalore the Lesser, a mandalorian gladiator who became a puppet for the Sith Empire and allied the Empire and the Mandalorians during the Great galactic war through the beginning of the Cold War. Then there was Mandalore the Vindicated, who killed Mandalore the Lesser to take the title of Mandalore. He remained allies with the Sith, though they were cautious allies since he knew them Imperials would stab the Mandalorians in the back if the opportunity presented itself. He led the Mandalorians from the Cold War, the Galactic War, and the invasion of Zakuul, where he was killed by skytroopers

There is honor or just winning because you are not held back by outed concepts. There is no “Honor” in modern war nor in Star Wars because a lot of people who don’t fight with honor end up being victors. A real world example are guns, Japan outlawed the import of guns after a certain point and they were not used heavily until the start of the industrialization of Japan. Samurai were against the abolition of the warrior class along with their refusal to modernize, in the civil war between samurai and the emperor. The imperial Japanese Amy used heavy amounts of cannons and guns while the samurai did not. They thought there was no honor in using guns, so they lost.
