I love your channel Matt,I am a senior softball player and trying to slightly change my swing.
Looking at your video makes sense.Just hope I can put into action.I am a power hitter but I think
my mechanics are not quite right.I sometimes hit to under the ball and pop it up.

I was wondering what your rates are per lesson. I think my granddaughter would really benefit from a few lessons.

Thanks for your training tips! Have you seen those videos of those big softball guys saying they bring their hands forward first and then it's the 'wrist snap' that generates all their power.. what do u think of that training? i personally don't like those videos as that's not how i was ever taught to hit..

That is what some players feel, but I don’t believe it should actually happen that way

Visible in this video but not mentioned (unless I missed it) is the relationship the bat, forearm, and upper arm should have with each other. During the swing, the bat should stay in alignment with the plane formed by the forearm and upper arm (1:49-1:50). As soon as the back elbow drops incorrectly and begins to lead excessively, the bat will leave the plane (1:53-1:54) causing a breakdown that severely interferes with transmission of energy to the bat. This flaw also severely restricts the batter’s ability to effectively contact pitches lower in the zone. 🤔
