OK, now this is really - I mean really good! Really like the feel how you captured the song, how you lived through-out it on so many levels it has! Hats off!
Incredible interpretation of a masterpiece. Jon was the best Black Metal composer and Dissection the best band of the genre without a doubt. The emotion that moves this song is overwhelming and melancholic. In my opinion, no one will ever succeed in overshadowing his legacy.
I saw the thumbnail for this on the piano versions of Dissection songs and decided to watch it and am glad i did. You performed this masterpiece masterfully. Needless to say i was very, very impressed. Thank you!
Outstanding. truly captured thorns of crimson death ! I would love to hear "frozen" and "heavens damnation" by dissection off the somberlain! please keep making these my friend ! it shows people with a different ear tone the beauty of melodic black metal 🤘
Крута! Моего мастерства хватило только на "No dreams breed in breathless sleep" и "Feathers Fell".
This is my favorite song and this is a beautiful piano cover. A great performance of a skilled player with excellent taste in music. Thank you so much for uploading this 🙂
Danke für die genialen Cover! Rein aus Interesse: Could you give me some insight in the process of your approach when you start to practice/write notation for new covers?
I'd say for me there is no regular process. Perhaps if such a process existed, videos would appear more often. Usually I just play my favorite tracks from memory, often not even in the right key, since I don’t have perfect pitch. If I feel it would work well for a piano cover video, I start playing along with the original, clarifying the moments that have slipped from memory. If something remains unclear, I search for tabs and guitar video lessons.
Great to see your play again! If You are looking for some inspiration Dissectionlike - check out Thulcandra - Dying Wish. I bet it would sound great :)
It's way slower than the original 😅 the first half of this cover is played in 200bpm fixed, and then I switched off the metronome from the acoustic part to the end
Oops, I thought it was about Night's Blood) this one was without click, so I have just the piano itself in my headphones. I usually practice with headphones on so as not to disturb my family)
@Still-the-Pianist Ah, thanks for your ansver. You make the best piano versions of Dissection on the entire TH-cam! Have you heard the first version of Nights Blood that was released one year before the album? It's slower than the album version and almost better.
