when bird coached the pacers, he was in a suit n tie, loose ball rolled to his feet, he picked up and jacked 9-10 3's in a row. the team was speechless, bird was in his 60s.

You can say that Jordan is your GOAT. But NO ONE called his shots and told you exactly what he was going to do and then do it like Larry Legend! And that shot that he missed at the end of that game with the Lakers was Game 4 of the Finals and he had a broken hand that he got during the ECFs!

He busted his right hand in a softball game his senior year in college and had surgery. Probably the reason he had to write lefthanded as he didn’t have the same feel for the ball after that.

If you want a quick rundown of larry's career stats, ill keep it short
    Averages :
    24.3 pts, 10 rbd, 6.6 ast, 1.7 stl, 0.9 blk
    49.6% fg, 37.7% 3p, 88.6% ft

  • @simplyskrypt3914

I know it sounds wild to say he deserved finals mvp with only 15 points per game, but they gave it to cedric maxwell who averaged 17.7. Actually here are the full stats so you understand the context
    Maxwell : 17.7pts, 9.5rbd, 2.8 ast, 0.5 stl, 0.4 blk
    Bird : 15 pts, 15 rbd, 7.2 ast, 2.2 stl, 1.2 blk
Actually bird had to play his first 3 seasons as a power forward, since maxwell was the small forward, and mchale was a benchwarmer during this time. Only when maxwell was traded, during larry's 4th year, did the trio of bird - parrish - mchale solidify itself as a league wide threat, and this is when bird finally moved back to small forward like he was in high school and college

Playing with no help. Took an all time great team to over time. In the process he dropped 63 points, still the play off record. Even the early losses he was filling out his goat resume. A sweep then was 3 games. He got 49 the first game. That Boston team had 5 Hall of Fame players. They only lost one game at home all season. Last seed against first. Who had home court advantage? So a minus is playing first 2 games of a 5 games series on a home court where they lost 1 game. He had a all time great game.55 points avg for 2 games in the Boston Garden!

Funny thing is, right before the 63 point game, Jordan gave an interview saying that one person couldn’t beat the Celtics it would take a team effort. And the last points of the game was the exact example of it. Bird could have easily scored the basket but Parish had an easier shot so he dished it off to him to finish.

Your youth shows a little…and no disrespect meant. The era Larry played in is unmatched in the amount of hall of famers and sheer talent. Todays flag football style, can’t breath on a player or get a foul league couldn’t handle the physicality of Birds era…they would cry. Bird would destroy todays players both with his game and mentally. The only thing that keeps the NBA from being renamed The National Bird League is the injuries that shortened and hampered his all star career. He played through injuries that NO player can match and still put up HOF numbers. Give him a 15-20 yr career without the back injury?!? Look out.
Even as such, he is in the top three, sitting in a tie for first. If I had to start my all time team, or any team for that matter….I start with Bird every time.

I think Isiah could do well in this league. He was the second best point guard of the '80's. But, would his temper and behaviour towards other players fly in today's media frenzy? No. I mean, he got in trouble in '87 for his mouth (so did Rodman but he was a rookie), so I agree, about the Pistons, just maybe not the same reasons you do. Lambeer? He can go to Hell. Joe Dumars and John Salley were decent players, though maybe not HoF careers in today's league, but they would play. Rodman, NO.

I love that you are reviewing Larry Bird's career...but I have of offer up some constructive criticism.
You have 1 mouth and 2 ears and when you are using your lips more than your ears you won't learn anything.
You just cannot learn anything if you are talking over someone who's trying to explain something to you. Which is what you did throughout this reaction.
It's ok to disagree with what you are being told, I don't think most will have a issue with that, but do that and make your other comments 'on pause'.
I don't understand how you can form any opinion without First Hearing the full commentary and the logic behind why the narrator has taken the stance he has.
Please, Listen First and let the narrator Finish their point, then pause the tape if need be, and say your piece.
You missed so much information in this tape and in the Ultimate Mix tape because you were talking, not listening. I know you have a few more Bird reactions listed, but I haven't viewed them yet, so I will expect much of the same ??? Hopefully though, you will take the advice of your viewers to heart, as I know I'm not the only one to remark on this. .
I do like your reactions. It's fun to see another of the younger generation discovering who Bird really was...he wasn't just a 'shooter' he was, in my opinion, the best All Around player ever.
He didn't always have to make baskets to change the course of a game and get a win. He wasn't the flashiest player ever, but he was extraordinary across the board, with his defense being his weakest link, but he still didn't have horrible numbers there. He was a TEAM player...not a selfish 'superstar' who like some players never wanted to give up the ball, share in the glory.
I'm a 60 year old woman, btw...so yeah, I nag like an old school marm..lol. but I was also lucky enough to watch most of the televised games between the Lakers and the Celtics and with other teams. Larry was and still is my all time favorite. He and Magic saved the NBA, pulled it right out of the garbage can and made it popular. I love Magic too : )

@@Cpski4 Thanks for the positive reply.
I think most of your viewers would agree with me. We Want to see your reaction...the smiles, frowns, looks of disbelief...etc. Short comments when there is not talking on a clip can be fun too.
However we want You to hear any commentary in the clips - Then respond verbally with your thoughts and opinions.
Because you are such a positive person, I will hit the subscribe button, which I, confess, I don't always do with channels.
I always, however, hit the "like" button after watching a reaction channel clip.
