Great question! As far as I can tell Hero points are more closely related to "inspiration" from DND 5E. Because they are mostly a reward for good role playing (EX still going ahead with a plan even though player knowledge says that it will kill your Character). But Resolve points are something you get after a long rest and stay from session to session, and can let you do "cool shit". Like there are some abilities that cost RP or that you can do extra stuff if you spend RP. It looks like the only connection they have is that you can use RP and Hero points to not die.
