The only potential symmetry is that both men are facing awkward questions; just because he is an Israeli does not mean he has impunity. The ICC is not going to make token political gestures. If the Israeli Prime Minister has done nothing wrong he has little to fear from a detailed examination of what has happened -it may ironical strengthen the case he has been making about taking the fight to Hammas.
Israel is operating outside its borders with no clear international mandate and has made no formal declaration of war. Moreover Hammas operatives are terrorists not soldiers, so complex rules about the laws of war are even more problematic.
Remember the most famous war crimes trail at Nuremberg. Suspected war criminals were given a fair trail with the presumption of innocence, and while most were convicted, what most people don't realise, some were acquitted!

The ICC only matters when the people in the country in which it claims jurisdiction agree to submit the people it wishes to investigate to it.
So it probably does a bit of good to avoid the impression that a local court system is being used to settle scores in for instance a country just coming out of a civil war with paper thin institutions and a lot of simmering rage in the population.
