My Gonnie was not quiet nor as kind and hopeful as Michelle’s mom sounds but she was a teacher. She had biggoted tendencies but she went to an HBCU and taught at a majority black school in Alabama and she raised me to know better than even she could. She voted Democrat for the first time for Obama. And god damn if Kamala wins and my vote plays a part I am going to make her so proud. I wish she could have heard this speech. Damn. This was so touching to me right now and I needed it.
