1989 Sept 6 - 10 15th Anniversary - Mt Rainier

In 1974 we went to Mount Rainier for our Honeymoon. Each period 5 yrs, or 10 years we return to "relive" our love for each other and the mountain.
In the years 1967 - 1970, I hiked almost ever trail in Mt Rainier Nat'l Park, some many times. As a married couple, we have spent a considerable number of anniversaries and random visits to "our Mountain". Unfortunately, we have noticed that, using the new phrase, "over tourism", especially in the last 20 years, has created an experience that has diminished in appreciation.
We are lucky to have enjoyed the mountain when there was still adequate parking, not wall-to-wall tourists, over crowed trails, and long line-ups everywhere you turn. Back in 1989, as this video shows, you could hike to Klapatche and St Andrews and not see one other person in mid-week hiking.
