    I replaced my battery today.
    It's amazing how phone companies make it difficult to replace the battery...
    Anyway I managed to replace it and i'm quite happy I did it. At least this phone will not be thrown and I won't buy another one (that's what the phone companies are expecting but I fail their plans ;)).

      I have mine for 4 years. Screen has a small crack (a vertical line accross), but otherwise works fine. Now after 4 years the battery is getting worse so I should replace it. And it's much cheaper then new phone.

    Our battery had swelled up!! with part of the back cover bulging. How lucky we realised somethng cant be right!
    Thanks for this superb tutorial on how to remove the back cover and how replace the battery.
    We used the links in your description to buy what we needed - Excellent and Quality stuff.
    Just leaves us to say that we would have made either a slide off back cover, or screwed down one like all other phone brands.
    Spent ages trying to discover the release mechanism. It was just glue bonding!!
    Heat gun done the job and one of my guitar plectrums🤣😊👍👍👍
    Once again - thanks for your time and effort making this brilliant tutorial.

    What type of liquid you are using for removing the battery cover?

      It's probably isopropyl alcohol to soften the adhesive

    Does it need some special glue, or i can use regular one? And can regular hair dryer be used to heat it ?

    • @thatdognotthepuppy5809
      @thatdognotthepuppy5809 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used regular super glue, it's held perfectly for a year and a half and counting. You can use a hair dryer, yeah.

    Hello. Do you know, can I put a battery from Huawey P20 Pro on a P20 Lite? To increase the capacity? It seems that the voltage is the same and the dimensions and the wire connector is the same. Do you know, will it be a software problem for the new battery with bigger Amperage not to be recognised in the phone , as being not the original battery?

    • @avidemuxer
      @avidemuxer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry for my un-requested advice but, I recommend not to do that!
      Even if you are sure of the voltage and the other things you may cause a short circuit in the charging port due the capacity of the port. It is set to charge up to the original battery.
      Also, your device firmware itself has a default battery capacity log. It will cause problems.
      It is not the same thing as computers sadly. I did this to an older phone and it crashed on boot and now is unresponsive.
      Maybe after the replacement the first thing you can do is a hard reset before anything.

      The batteries have a chip inside, which depends on the phone model, even if you plug in the battery of the different model phone, problems arise because the devices are different because of the difference of the chips

    One screw remains on the table!

    • @thatdognotthepuppy5809

      I can't remember exactly how it goes, but there's an old engineer's joke about how putting something back together with fewer screws is making the design more efficient, this always reminds me of that.

      I may be wrong but it is usually (99.9%pure) isopropyl alcohol which helps soften the adhesive. Easy to get from eBay etc and many chemical suppliers.
