    Tunnel vision. Needs some improvement re: fires. No intersections so flow would be constant, that's good.

    What a great way to get straight to the airport when it’s done. Was there an indication of fees that will be charged. Great content good job 👍🏻

      It will definitely be a quick way to travel to the airport once it's done. At this time, convention attendees can ride for free. I don't believe there's any indication of what the pricing will be for regular passengers at this moment. Thank you so much for the compliment! I appreciate it!

      They have said that the fares will be from $5 to $20 depending on the distance. They are saying that's per vehicle, not per person. I wouldn't be surprised if they added a surcharge for airport trips, but I haven't heard anything about that.

      Yeah on the website they gave a sample ride fare and an example trip of a 4.9 mile distance from Las Vegas Convention Center to Harry Reid International Airport would cost $10 and would take about 5 minutes. And that's good to know so the more passengers, the more worth it is to ride!

    How much does it cost to get from different stations?

      At this time it's only running at the Las Vegas Convention Center which is free for conference attendees but Vegas Loop provided a sample ride fare for when the larger loop system is complete. They claim for a 4.9 mile distance from Las Vegas Convention Center to Harry Reid International Airport would cost $10 and would take about 5 minutes.

    the future is traffic congestion on narrow unsafe tunnels? can i have a bit of today instead then?
    THE TUNNEL itself has zero FIRE suppression systems, the tunnel as a grand total of ZERO emergency exits unless you count the extremities as emergency exits, (they are not for emergencies thy are the normal exits), i have to admit the camera system will be useful to document the chaos a fire event will cause...

    • @jggarage1807
      @jggarage1807  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I was wondering about the emergency exits as well as I personally didn't really see any along the tunnel. They do claim that they have fire suppression and emergency exits though so I thought maybe I just missed them but you may be right. Maybe the ends of the tunnels are the emergency exits for this particular tunnel system since it's quite short. Hopefully they include adequate emergency exits in the new tunnels they are building along the Las Vegas Strip since it'll be much longer. During the times I rode the Loop, I didn't face much or any congestion however I did see some videos online where other people experienced congestion. I'm really curious to see how they would prevent that from happening again in the future.

      @@jggarage1807 they won't, this is underground taxis, if allot of people want to go to the same place at the same time it will congest as all taxis try to rush to the same place... The larger the system the worse it will get.. just like the roads above.
      Trains work because they offer a ton of capacity on a fixed interval...
      And btw the fire supression system is a fire extinguisher the driver caries. (Completely useless in a battery fire) .
      There is a reason real tunnels are more expensive. It's safety regulations...

      @@pinheirokde The wonderful thing is that we're going to get to see how a Loop work on a large scale when they build the 30-mile Vegas Loop. It will meet all relevant safety standards, or the local authorities won't approve it to open. The convention center already meets those standards.
      I think it has the potential to be a great new option for public transport, able to scale up to busy times with more vehicles and with some larger capacity vehicles in the mix, and able to scale down to the slow times without driving big trains around just to carry a few passengers and without making those passengers wait longer due to a reduced schedule.
      It will work. It's working for the Convention Center. It may not work as well at a larger scale, but then again it may do better. Either way, we'll find out. The Boring Company is shouldering most of the risk. It isn't costing Clark County anything, except maybe the ability to put in an $8 billion subway system which they weren't going to do anyway.

      @@kevinbailey8827 it does not meet the safety standards, it would not pass any review in Europe.. and was only approved there because the driver is carriing a fire extinguisher... (Completely useless on a battery fire)
      This is a disaster on the making.
      And it's not working it managed to get congestion with a event that is 1/6 of what it is on a normal year...

    • @kevinbailey8827
      @kevinbailey8827 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pinheirokde It is working. The congestion you mentioned was temporary, and it wasn’t due to too many passengers.
      A fire in a tunnel would be serious, but thankfully EV fires are extremely rare. There is usually some warning (overheated battery pack) before any flames, so chances are the evacuation would be well underway before a fire.
      It does meet safety standards, because the people in charge of enforcing those standards have certified that it does. They are the same people who would be fighting the fire in the unlikely event that one happened.
